For the last 60 years the Democrats have been telling us that morality didn’t matter, that it was a personal choice.

Now suddenly they consider themselves to be the Arbiter of everything moral?

Almost like they’re doing this at a political need.

And I suspect and I suppose that when Roy Moore wins his election all of this will magically disappear… And we will be back to hearing about how Islam allowing 9 year olds to marry 50 year olds is just a different culture and we should accept it.

Eric Florack on December 8th, 2017

I keep seeing chatter around the web about how how many of Millennials want to see the US become a socialist country.

I’ve always had some questions about the mentality behind such a desire. Mostly I attributed to a lack of Education about what socialism entails. I also note with some interest that such reports generally come from traditionally leftist strongholds like New York or California.

But then I run across this today….

KEY FINDINGS

– 27% of 18-34 year olds would form a relationship with a robot

– British men were three times more likely to form a relationship with a robot compared to women

… and the perception of the Millennials goes from just plain stupid to Spooky.

Clearly these are the very fruit, the very best that government education can give the world.

Houston, we have a problem.

These are the people that are going to be carrying on Western culture?

Beverly Young Nelson admits to adding date and place to alleged Roy Moore inscription in her yearbook. Gloria Allred initially attributed that writing to Moore. Nelson stands by rest of her story. https://t.co/ui3xR2JfMC

Of course she does.

The charges that the Democrats have been floating against Roy Moore continues to have less and less credibility.

Consider the cases of Condoleezza Rice, Ben Carson, Justice Clarence Thomas Yama and so many others who’s the Democrats apparently decided that they couldn’t defeat absence some kind of sexual scandal.

Then consider the Avalanche of Democrat Party supporters, activists, and leaders, whose Behavior was an Open Secret for decades. This is after all the party of Ted Kennedy Bill Clinton, etc.

You know, just now I’m reading some material regards the gods and goddesses of the Greek and Roman Empires. I am struck by a remark I found in one of them that suggests that the reason that the religion no longer has sway was not because the people became corrupt but because their gods did.

The similarity to the Democrat Party whose leadership certainly likes to ascribe to itself a god-like status, is remarkable, I think.

I’ll leave the implications of all that to you.

Eric Florack on December 8th, 2017

Let’s compare disasters, shall we?

The fact of the matter is that California is the direct result of for management by the Democrat Party who has run California for the last 60 plus years. A lot of that goes directly to this man…

…And then proceeded to blame Donald Trump because the federal government didn’t come up with the money necessary to fix the dam that he should have fixed out of state funds in the first place.

And that’s just an example of the mismanagement going on in California. That’s why there’s a mass Exodus of people from California. And of course businesses from California.

But most importantly to this article it’s yet another example of how Democrats tend to point the finger of blame at everybody but themselves.

I am not much on the power of pray.   However the power of the advocates of homosexual behavior to be utterly stupid seems boundless.  To wit one Very Reverend Kelvin Holdsworth, provost of St. Mary’s Cathedral of the Scottish Episcopal Church of the Anglican Union, from American Thinker:

[Very] Reverend {Kelvin] Holdsworth has issued a public call for prayer that four-year-old Prince George be homosexual and that he one day “find love” with a man rather than a woman. Holdsworth is praying for Queen George I.

Reverend Holdsworth is a prominent British pro-homosexuality activist. The fundamental precept of the reverend’s political movement is that homosexuality is inborn, cannot be changed, and must not be repressed. This despite overwhelming evidence that homosexuality is a complex phenomenon with complex causes. Holdsworth’s prayers of homosexualization are not only for the future, but also for the present. For the sake of his political aims, Holdsworth hopes that the little boy is already indelibly homosexual and will be powerless over that condition throughout life.

I don’t know if Mr. Holdsworth studied Christian theology or homosexual theology.  If he studied either, he seemed to have flunked them.   If Mr. Holdsworth were a Christian he would believe that human life begins at conception.   So Prince George would have been conceived as either a male or female.   Then on the other thumb, if Mr. Holdsworth were but competent in homosexual beliefs talking points  he would have been told to state that homosexuality is decided at the moment of birth.  However, if either theory is correct, Mr. Holdsworth has missed the bus by some four years.

Then imagine if some theologian to pray for Prince George to be heterosexual, that theologian would likely have been condemned as a intolerant, homophobic, bigot.

Remember the more esteemed an idiot, such as Mr. Holdsworth, is the harder it is to educate him.  The good news is that you can always use the idiot for sport.

Is the political swamp any more fetid than in Detroit? If recently resigned John Conyers II has his way, the swamp called Detroit will continue, from Washington Free Beacon:

The son of outgoing Democratic Rep. John Conyers (Mich.) was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of domestic assault, records show.

In Los Angeles earlier this year, the younger Conyers, 27, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after his girlfriend called the police, NBC reports.

[…]

The elder Conyers resigned Tuesday after he was accused by multiple former staffers of sexual abuse and harassment. In his resignation speech, the Michigan Democrat endorsed his son to fill the open seat.

II resigns in disgrace and endorses III. Junior hardly seems like an improvement over his old man.

It seems that Robert Mueller investigation into candidate, President-Elect, President Trump is all Peter Strzok, all the time. Strzok appears in more decision scenes than John Wayne did in a Republic Pictures World War Two movie, from Daily Caller:

The revelation that Special Counsel Robert Mueller kept secret that a top FBI investigator overseeing the Russia investigation exchanged anti-Trump text messages with an FBI attorney has fueled questions about Mueller’s credibility and his ability to oversee an impartial investigation.

Peter Strzok, the anti-Trump agent, is reported to be the official who first signed the FBI’s Russia investigation into existence and interviewed Michael Flynn. Strzok was also reportedly the one who softened former FBI Director James Comey’s language referring to Hillary Clinton’s email investigation.

Video:

The strange ideas that Mrs. Clinton was guilty of nothing but the Trump campaign, transition, administration must be guilty of something all are the product of Peter Strock

snark2.jpgThe Snark of the Day, Mary Katherine Ham:

So, Brian Ross is getting December off for totally screwing pooch on the scoop of the century, tanking market, lying & calling it a clarification.

Hat tip: Red State.

davidl on December 2nd, 2017

Who is more dangerous to the public, the late Senator Oldsmobile, a/k/a Teddy Kennedy, driving drunk at night with his headlights off, Jose Ines Garcia Zarate with a loaded handgun, or Brian Ross late of ABC News with an anonymous tip? From CNN:

ABC News on Friday evening corrected an explosive special report that aired in the morning saying that Donald Trump, as a candidate for president, had asked Michael Flynn to make contact with Russians.

[…]

The initial report, based on one anonymous source, prompted a dramatic reaction in the financial markets, and the Dow fell more than 350 points.

[…]

A tweet published by ABC News containing Ross’ initial report had been retweeted more than 25,000 times and embedded in various news

[…]

stories online before it was deleted. ABC posted a “clarification” on Twitter around 8 p.m.

An ABC spokesperson said the network learned its initial reporting was incorrect at about 6 p.m. The network spokesperson declined to say if any disciplinary action would occur.

[…]

Shortly before 11 p.m., after a barrage of criticism, ABC posted a new tweet with the header “Correction” instead of “Clarification” followed by the same text as the prior tweet. The original tweet was deleted.

[…]

This is not the first high-profile mistake by Ross. In a 2012 piece for which he apologized, he suggested that the Aurora shooter may have had a connection to the Tea Party.

Brian Ross’ Fearless Fosdick style of reporter tanked the market in the morning prior to Eleven. It was over twelve hours later that the adults at ABC News issued a correction.

NBC News just fired their biggest star Matt Lauer, from Variety:

The employee met with human resources at NBC on Monday night. In a statement, NBC News Chairman Andy Lack called this the first complaint about his behavior in over 20 years and acknowledged that it may not be the last: “We were also presented with reason to believe that this may not have been an isolated incident,” Lack said.

How to square the circle. NBC avers that they fired Laurer after only one complaint, but allege a pattern of behavior. So how does one establish a pattern of behavior from a single incident? Film at Eleven. I have a theory. While NBC only had one complaint on record, they darned well knew about the pattern of Laurer’s behavior.

We take the Way Back Machine to 2012, from Fox News:

Couric, who co-hosted the NBC morning show for nine years, appeared on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” in 2012 and participated in a segment called “Plead the Fifth.” The segment, which TMZ posted on Wednesday, showed Cohen asking the anchor what was Lauer’s “most annoying habit.”

[…]

“He pinches me on the ass a lot,” Couric responded after taking a brief pause.

Video:

It seems evident that Couric did not file a complaint against Lauer.   On the other hand, she sure seemed to enjoy the recollection.

Cokie Roberts takes aim at John Conyers(D, M-13), shoot off her own toe and knee caps the entire media:

Don’t get in the elevator with him, you know, and the whole every female in the press corps knew that, right, don’t get in elevator with him. Now people are saying it out loud. And I think that does make a difference.

Source.

So according to Ms Roberts, a democrat sexual predator freely roams the halls of Congress for years, yet no reporterette on the Washington beat thinks it is news worth reporting.  How many other sexual predators are hiding out in plain sight behind the democrat icon shield?

A blogger and conservative activist, James O’Keefe tried to run a sting on the self-proclaimed Paper of Record, the venerable Washington Post.  O’Keefe got caught, from WaPo:

The woman who approached Post reporters, Jaime T. Phillips, did not respond to calls to her cellphone Monday morning. Her car remained in the Project Veritas [James O’Keeffe’s outfit — RD] parking lot for more than an hour.

Kudos to the WaPo for winning one. What is strange is the the liberal media acts like they just beat the World Champion Houston Astros rather than a Little League team from New Jersey:

If you’ve ever watched a spy movie, you’ll probably recall that the spies never get caught because they left a social-media post under their real name declaring “I’m enrolling in espionage school to become a spy!”

Source, hat tip and reax, American Conservative:

Somehow, conservative donors still keep shelling out cash to James O’Keefe’s outfit. Here’s an idea, y’all: redirect your (tax-deductible) gift to TAC, which publishes actual conservative journalism and commentary.

Wake me up when catching the main stream media vetting their news sources no longer qualifies as news.

To survive in free market enterprise, each employee must be able to demonstrate his contribution to the company’s bottom line.   In non-profits enterprises such as charities, government or ESPN not so much.  So when  PDT put a free enterprise shark, Rex Tillerson, in charge of the federal government biggest and most fetid swamp, the State Department, a/k/a Foggy Bottom, expect the swamp denizens, to cry to Paper of the Swamp, a/k.a New York Slimes,   when their area of the swamp is drained, from the Slimes:

For those who have not been dismissed, retirement has become a preferred alternative when, like Mr. Miller, they find no demand for their expertise. A retirement class that concludes this month has 26 senior employees, including two acting assistant secretaries in their early 50s who would normally wait years before leaving.

The number of those with the department’s top two ranks of career ambassador and career minister — equivalent to four- and three-star generals — will have been cut in half by Dec. 1, from 39 to 19. And of the 431 minister-counselors, who have two-star-equivalent ranks, 369 remain and another 14 have indicated that they will leave soon — an 18 percent drop — according to an accounting provided by the American Foreign Service Association.

Hat tip and reax, Last Refuge:

Making America Great Again means Making Interventionism Irrelevant Again – The New York Times outlines why the diplomatic retention of irrelevant snobbery is vital to those within the State Department’s cocktail circuit influence network. At the rate Tillerson is going he might even eliminate the entire staff for the Assistant Cultural Ambassador to the U.N. Center for Biodiversity and Southern Hemispheric Aquatic Species Rights. That’s the threshold where things are really going to get ugly

Lead, follow or get out of the way, Foggy Bottom is incapable of the former two. It have to settle for being part of the latter.

From Joy-Ann Reid, Daily Beast:

Well if we are getting about the business of re-examining the past indecency of powerful men, we’d be remiss not to include the moment in 1991 when a woman was not believed and her alleged abuser was elevated to the highest court in the land, where he remains 26 years later.

Aside from Associate Justice Clarence Thomas being a rock solid conservative, apparently an unforgivable crime, the sole evidence of Thomas being an indecent man unfit for high office is the uncorroborated word of one Anita Hill. The gist of Hill’s allegations, from Newsweek, via Powerline:

[Hill] described Thomas as a boss who pestered her for dates and spoke graphically about pornography, bestiality, rape and his skills as a lover. “He talked about pornographic materials depicting individuals with large penises or large breasts involved in various sex acts,” she testified.

The “oddest episode,” Hill said, occurred when he was drinking a Coke in his EEOC office. “He got up from the table at which we were working, went over to his desk to get the Coke, looked at the can and asked, ‘Who has put pubic hair on my Coke?”‘

Aside from the facts that Hill had no collaborating witnessed and in the twenty-six years since the confirmation hearing there has been no indication in the public record of Thomas’s alleged sexual harassment fitting a pattern of misbehavior.  In contrast  Hill views allegation of sexual peccadilloes in context of the accused political views,  Hill on B.J. Clinton, viay Paul Mirengoff, Powerline:

I think what Ms. Steinem also says that we have to look at the totality of the presidency and how has he been on women’s issues generally? Is he our best bet, not withstanding some behavior that we might dislike, and I don’t think that most women have come to the point where we have said, ‘Well, this is so bad that even if he is better on the bigger issues, we can’t have him as President.

Translation, Clarence Thomas opposed affirmative action, he therefore unfit to hold office. Whereas B.J. Clinton supports abortion therefore should be given a pass on his sexual misconduct.

davidl on November 18th, 2017

Mrs. B.J. Clinton as attributed by April Ryan, via Gateway Pundit:

“Look I worry about everything from his[President Donald Trump] past because it tells you how he behaves in the present and the future.”

So few words.  so much to parse.   Points:

  • Mrs. Clinton purports to be Methodist.   Does she not believe in redemption?   If Mrs. Clinton believes her god could forgive Senator Oldsmobile, and admit him to heaven, why does she refuse to do what Jesus would do, at least with  regards to Republicans.
  • Number Forty, President Ronald Reagan, admitted a to fatal sin, in the eyes of republicans.   To wit to once having been a democrat.   Yet the Gipper convinced the voters, four times, that his view of the Democratic Party had changed.
  • Why does Mrs. Clinton view Little Donny past character flaws to be fatal and irredeemable, but seem to view the character flaws of any democrat as old news, no longer relevant?

Mrs. Clinton, your fifteen minutes have expired.
