The crisis won’t be solved in one presidential term, either. “We’re talking about changing habits that have been formed over generations,” Obama has said.

You’ll notice, if you watch the White House video, that Elmo never actually eats that red-pepper burrito, though he claims to be enticed. “Where’s the sour cream?” he may be thinking. “And no melted cheese?”

“It’s not going to be easy,” Michelle Obama says. She’s right – but also right to keep pushing.

Obesity became a partisan issue when the Fat Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) stuck her nose into it.   Fat people like Michelle Obama have no business lecturing anybody else about weight.

Michelle Obama has encouraged parents to make sure their children exercise and eat healthy and has emphasized more nutritious school lunches. Ms. Palin seems to view this as an attack by Leviathan against individual liberty and parental authority. “What [Mrs. Obama] is  telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat,” according to Palin.

Pete should ask himself, if FLOTUS diet and exercise advise is so good, why doesn’t she take it>?   No more diet advise from fat people.

Peter King of NBC reported during Football Night in America that President Barack Obama recently called Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate the team for giving quarterback Mike Vick a second chance.

President Obama explained that a level playing field rarely exists for prisoners who have completed their sentences.  Vick’s success gives all of them hope.

In our view, Obama’s gesture also provides Vick with the kind of positive reinforcement that will help keep him out of any trouble during the 2011 offseason, once he is left to his own devices.

Buffalo stealing the media attention away? I’m a native Buffalonian and I’m used to potshots being thrown at my hometown (some richly deserved) but Buffalo isn’t stealing anything away.

DeCoursey’s quote seems to imply that Buffalo goes out of its way to hog all the publicity about its snowfalls. That’s a good one, Pat.

Buffalo sees its snowy image as a liability and runs away from it any chance it can get. The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce would love it if the Weather Channel went to Rochester or Syracuse or Watertown instead of Buffalo every time there was an upstate storm.
