WASHINGTON — A global summit scheduled in December may result in a proposal to put the Internet under United Nations control — an idea that has met solid resistance from the United States.
It’ll be interesting to see how the left rides this one.
That 400lb guy who attacked the cops the other day, and died? The autopsy report showed an enlarged heart was the problem. It also showed cocaine and PCP in his blood system. Even without this point, the cops acted correctly. With this revelation, the cops were MORE than justified; he was out of control.
Won’t stop some people from claiming the police were at fault, I suppose.

As the campaign-finance-reform bill went through Congress, Democrats demanded a ban on soft money donations to political parties. They succeeded in including it as the reform’s centerpiece.
But it turns out that Republicans are raising twice as much as Democrats are in hard money: $158 million for the GOP vs. $66.5 million for the Democrats. So the Democrats have resorted to a loophole in McCain-Feingold and worked to maximize soft money contributions to phony political committees, allegedly independent of the party apparatus and thus not covered by the soft money ban. “
This is going to be a major issue shortly, guys. The Democrats are feeling squeezed in their own trap, and are trying to skirt the law… the one THEY created. I’ll be shocked if we don’t see Democrats in jail for campaign violations at the end of the cycle.

So much for the Democrats running on the economy being such a problem.

Billy Beck seems to have found the wall on the wrong side of the bed this morning, by running into it with his forehead. It’s the only rational reason I can see for his objection. I’ll support him when he’s right and take him out when he’s wrong. He’s wrong on this one.
The bottom line is in both the cases he cites, the criminal resisted arrest and had a long history to endangering others in the process of that resitance.
And Billy… com’on, man…do you *really* still have doubts about the King case, given the number of times he’s been arrested and what he’s been convicted of, since his brush with fame?

I mentioned it in this week’s bit, but didn’t get into it a deeply as I might have.
What a contrast between Mr Bush and Hitlery; He goes over and heaps praise on the troups. In the feedback from them, we get nothing but thanks for his recognition. Do you wonder why we don’t see anything in the way of feedback from the troups on Hitlery’s visit? Here’s why…
She said, in part to these troups “there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration’s policies.”
Read that: “You’re doing wrong, but it’s not your fault.” Boortz gets it right on the money this morning, when he says:
” It’s one thing to question administration policies in a political setting. It’s quite another for a politician to go before troops in a war zone and raise doubts about their mission and the actions of their commanding officer. This is absolute typical Hillary Clinton. This is a woman who never expressed anything but complete disdain for any man or woman in uniform … until, that is, it became politically expedient to become their proud supporter. “
And for all the bitching about Bush “using the military for photo ops” did Hitlery bring a camera crew with her?
Ya know, if this was a trip Bill Clinton had aranged, the press would be giving it the Micheal Jackson treatment… inventing new angles just so they could keep it on the air for one more hour. But have you noticed? With the exception of a few measly offerings, it’s dropped off the wires.
Why? The reason’s simple enough; THey can’t manage to spin this one against the President, so they’ve simply pulled it. The rule apparently is if you can’t say something bad about Bush, don’t say anything at all.
Out of what has been coming back though, I find encouraging. The Democrats are trying witout success to label this merely a ‘photo-op’. There’s been a number of stories posted by reporters pissed because they didn’t manage to get invited… CNN, the Washington Post and the NY Times are a few examples. They complain that ‘we could have kept it secret’. forgetting apparently that their news orgs were responsible for leaking classified documents when it suited them, and making a federal case out of it, and suggesting that they were an international news org not an American one, and so owed America nothing. Remember that one? And they wonder why they weren’t let in one this one.
