Among other things, the memo recommends that Democrats “prepare to launch an investigation when it becomes clear we have exhausted the opportunity to usefully collaborate with the [Senate] majority. We can pull the trigger on an independent investigation of the administration’s use of intelligence at any time — but we can only do so once … the best time would probably be next year.”
In short, when we don’t get our way…. Call for an investigation.
“The draft memo was not approved nor was it shared with any member of the Senate Intelligence Committee or anyone else” says Jay Rockefeller.
Umm, Jay? So why are so many already mouthing this nonsense?
Clearly, many leading Democrtats have already seen it, and are following it’s dictates.

By the way, I notice that the memo was apparently leaked by a member of the Senate Intel Committee, and most likely a Democrat. If so, it looks like there’s at least one more Democrat that can’t stand the tactics that party is taking of late.
ANGRY LEFT is reporting this morning that the ruling Liberal Democrats in Japan are looking to change their constitution. Why? To allow themselves a bigger Military so that they can aid the world in places like Iraq.
This ought to be a lesson to the ‘peace now’ crowd. If there s a group of people on this planet dedicated to peace, it is the Japanese, after World War Two. However, after watching Iraq, they have apparently decided that people without swords can still die on them. Perhaps they’ve finally determined that peace is merely the happy byproduct of evil having been defeated…. and that sometimes, to accomplish this, one needs to respond to those who would break the peace, with a show of strength.
Sullivan notes he’s been getting a lot of mail like this.

Unlike in your email of the day, I knew no one who died in September 11th. Not when the Democrats fault George Bush for creating French obstruction. Not when the Democrats secretly applaud American deaths because it proves George Bush is “wrong.” Not for a party that hates the South, the West, anything not New York (I’m from New York, so I can say that) or San Francisco, or anyone who feels proud flying the American flag. And above all else, not for a party that panders to the protesters who waive signs blaming “the Zionists” for the world’s ills. No. This former Democrat, this September 11th Republican, will vote for George Bush.”
Sullivan goes on to say:
Now I’m not sure how widespread this feeling is, but I have little doubt that the key issue in the next election will be a relatively simple one: do you approve or disapprove of the transformation of American foreign policy in the wake of 9/11? Iraq will be factored into that, but I don’t think trouble there will necessarily sink the president for one simple reason. The issue next November will not be: were we wrong to go after Saddam? It will be: what would either candidate do now? How do we maintain pressure on the threats that beset us? Do we decide that Bush’s policy is fundamentally mistaken, that we are not as much at risk as we thought, that we can return to what John Kerry has called a “law enforcement” approach to terror, rather than outright warfare against both terrorism and its sponsoring states? Or do we stick with the guy who led us in those terrible post-9/11 months and won our trust at the time? Maybe memories will have faded by then – but I still think they won’t have faded enough for a Dean-style isolationism or Kerry-style legalism to do well. This presidential election will be the first since 9/11. It will be about 9/11. And it will be critical
Andrew, ya got it partly right, here. Yes, 9/11 will be the critical factor.
The thing you’re missing though, is that the press knew that two years ago. That’s why nowdays you never see images of that day being splashed on your screen. Is it because, as Darryl Worley suggests, ‘it’s too disturbing’? Or is there a more political reason? I think the latter.
The leftist news media understood then, and understands today how critical this factor is, and that showing what was done to us will only reinforce President Bush’s position. Being leftists, they don’t want to do that. So, the footage of our people getting killed by those bastards will never see the light of day on the news media again. They hope you’ll forget 9/11.
Which is why Worley’s question has even greater meaning today than when it was originally asked….

CBS’s statement is, in part:
“CBS will not broadcast THE REAGANS on November 16 and 18. This decision is based solely on our reaction to seeing the final film, not the controversy that erupted around a draft of the script.”
Yeah, right. Sure, had nothing to do with it.
Well, I’ll grant that it’s possible, but if so, the finished product they claim to have made their judgements on was even worse than those parts of the script that were leaked….

Let me begin by saying that there is not a great deal of domestic policy about which I agree with George Bush. I think taxes should not be reduced for the upper classes. I would like to see a lot more done for the environment, including the automobile companies being forced to build truly fuel-efficient cars as quickly as possible. I favor a woman’s right to choose and gay marriage. I’d like to see salaries raised for teachers. I could go on, but I think you get the picture—in many ways I’m a liberal.
Still, if the election were held today, like Georgia Democratic Senator Zell Miller, I would vote for George W. Bush without a second’s hesitation. That’s how bad I think the Democrats are on foreign policy, by far the most important issue of our day. I will go further. They are one of the sleaziest collections of low-down opportunists I have ever seen on one stage together short of that crowd of tobacco executives who testified “No, sirree, I didn’t know that nicotine was addictive.”

Believe me, I looked hard at the other choices. And what I saw was that the Democratic candidates who want to be president in the worst way are running for office in the worst way. Look closely, there’s not much difference among them. I can’t say there’s “not a dime’s worth of difference” because there’s actually billions of dollars’ worth of difference among them. Some want to raise our taxes a trillion, while the others want to raise our taxes by several hundred billion. But, make no mistake, they all want to raise our taxes. They also, to varying degrees, want us to quit and get out of Iraq. They don’t want us to stay the course in this fight between tyranny and freedom. This is our best chance to change the course of history in the Middle East. So I cannot vote for a candidate who wants us to cut and run with our shirttails at half-mast.
A lot of Democrats.. particularly those vieing for the job of President, are speaking glibly about a jobless recovery. Apparently, they’ve forgotten their history. In every recovery in history, the job market always, invariably trailed the other economic numbers. Always.
One wonders what they’re going to say when the job figures show up just about February or March?
An interesting note as regards Teddy Kennedy’s behavior on the Senate Floor. If a Republican was like this, do you suppose they’d give a minute’s peace over it?

Among other things, comes word that CBS is thinking of dumping the film off to SHOWTIME.
Of course the liberals who put the film together are screaming about ‘censorship’.
Same old tune from these morons. They tried to play fast and loose with the facts about our greatest President, in an effort to re-write historyto their political viewpoint, just prior to an election year….and got caught. It’s that simple.
The same Howard “Duck” Dean who last week called himself a MetroSexual, than after the snickering started getting louder was forcfed to admit he didn’t know what it means, is still acting like he’s not sure what he wants to be when he grows up.

That’s called an inclusive America, but I doubt most Democrats will see it that way, Howard….
“I don’t want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks,” Gephardt said in a statement. “I will win the Democratic nomination because I will be the candidate for guys with American flags in their pickup trucks.”
Gephardt apparently doesn’t know that such flags tend to be grouped together on people who display the Stars and Bars…
Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts contended that Dean’s “pandering” to the National Rifle Association gave him an inroad to “pander to lovers of the Confederate flag.”
And so it goes. It’s like I said before…. and President Bush has to do is sit back and let these idiots beat up on each other.
Weasely Clark said, “The Confederate flag flies in the face of our most deeply held American values – diversity, equality and inclusion.”
Hey, Weasel? You’re wrong, here. The Confederate flag and indeed, the confederacy itself was about a smaller federal government, and about states rights.
I wonder how many southerners just got turned off to the Democrats altogether with this exchange? There isn’t a one of the Democrats who came out looking like anything but a complete idiot.
