The Snark of the Day, from Kurt Schlichter, Townhall, via Ace:

No. There’s no sugar-coating it – your votes for Democrats have ensured that you are the first generation in American history that will fail to exceed what their parents attained. Embracing liberalism was a stupid thing to do, done for the stupidest of reasons, and I will now let you subsidize my affluent lifestyle without a shred of guilt.

The Millennials made a mistake. They trusted Obama

The Snark of the Day, from Jon Gabriel, via Kate, Small Dead Animals:

“If you’re explaining why cancer patients should lose their health insurance, you’re losing.”

Imagine if General of the Army Obama had been in charge of D-Day. We would have invaded the Republic of Ireland.

Mrs. Clinton's seat and her Ass.I really don’t like calling the Clinton’s , B.J. and Mrs, white trash.  They are just trash, The New York Post asks, “When did White Trash become Normal?

White Trash is the new normal — and you don’t have to tune in to reality TV to rub elbows with pathologies that once stayed put in Skunk Hollow. White Trash Normal has invaded every nook and cranny of life, from table manners, to dress, to money management.

[…]

White Trash signifiers have changed of course — the foreclosed McMansion with the mosquito-infested swimming pool has replaced the rusting tractor permanently bivouacked on cement blocks in the front yard. But it’s the same general idea.

Obesity, the product of a lack of discipline, sloppy dressing, loud and intimate cellphone chats broadcast to a captive audience and foul language nonchalantly uttered in the ATM line are all forms of this “self-expression.”

To answer the question, I’d say about 1982,

Police in Virginia shoot and kill John Geer, 46, from Police State USA:

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A paramilitary force was dispatched to a townhouse after a woman reported a domestic dispute between her and her boyfriend. When her boyfriend stubbornly chose to stay inside his home, police shot him and drove an armored truck through his front door.

[…]

As John Geer had not yet committed any offense to warrant his arrest, and with his family already off-site, police should have defused the situation by themselves leaving the scene.

Refusing to be forced from your home or to allow agents of the state to enter without a warrant is not an offense punishable by execution. And though his mental state was, in the words of his friend Jeff Stewart, “emotionally wrecked that day,” the antagonistic response from the state cannot be touted as a positive outcome by any reasonable standard.

The mantra of the police used to be: To protect, and to serve.  No more.  Time to take away the all the local police fancy, expense and unneeded military weapons.

My first post after the election of the Obama Regime was to compare Obama to Jimmy Carter:

Jimmy Carter Wins Re-election

My other title would have been Dewey wins. This is simple. Barack Obama would not keep his word as a candidate. He will not keep his word as President. As per Geraghty’s Law, all of BO’s statements come with expiration dates, including his promise to cut taxes for some ninety-five percent of Americans.

Obama is not a smart man. He not an honest man. Obama’s war on energy, gasoline, electricity, will drive the cost of living through the roof. You were warned. Now you will have to pay the price. Life under the One will miserable

Geraghty’s Law: All of Obama’s Promises come with expiration dates, as in “If you like your health care, you can keep your health care.”

Now even Carter Sr. has turned on Carter Jr., via Peter Wehner, Commentary:

He’s done the best he could under the circumstances. His major accomplishment was Obamacare, and the implementation of it now is questionable at best.

You were warned.

ADDENDUM: (Eric)

Well, now what did I say?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… since 2008, Obama and the Democrats have at every possible opportunity, marched… no, lunged, in exactly the wrong direction… if by the right direction, we mean an act which would advance America and its interests and influence in the world, make its economy more robust, and so on. Every chance they’ve had, they’ve gone exactly the wrong way. Every single time, right down the line.  I submit you don’t get that level of consistency without two things going for you…. talent and intent.

Let’s for once and all disabuse ourselves of the idea that Obama and the Democrats are incompetent, that they don’t know what they’re doing. They know exactly what they’re doing, and they are doing exactly as they intend.

The disaster unfolding before our eyes is the direct result of the policies Rall and his ilk have promoted for years. This is the chickens coming home to roost and Rall going into denial.

Its my take Rall will be far from alone going forward in that denial that it is the policies, not the personalities (or the racial makeup) of their promoters, that are responsible.

This is the left trying to protect the agenda by blaming those who have expertly implemented it. In this case, Obama.

Carter, for his part, must be cheering. He is no longer the worst President in History. Unlike Carter, Obama knows what he’s doing.  If incompetence such as Carter showed is a crime, how much more is someone who destroys us knowing what he’s doing?

snark2.jpgIn Bill Gates Speak, the Obama Care cancellation of your insurance policy was not a bug, but rather a feaxture,.  The Snark of the Day, from Chuck Grassley:

“The District of Columbia is an island surrounded by reality. Only in the District of Columbia could you get away with telling the people if you like what you have you can keep it, and then pass regulations six months later that do just the opposite and figure that people are going to ignore it. But common sense is eventually going to prevail in this town and common sense is going to have to prevail on this piece of legislation as well,”

Senate Democrats voted unanimously three years ago to support the Obamacare rule that is largely responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters that are going out.

In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it

(2009) “On the stump, the president regularly tells Americans that ‘if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.’ But if you read the bill, that just isn’t so. For starters, within five years, every health care plan will have to meet a new federal definition for coverage—one that your current plan might not match, even if you like it.”

Kathleen Sebelius

Kathleen Sebelius

The Obama Care mantra of the ‘rate seems to be:  If one person needs it then everybody must pay.     For your wry amusement a delightful interchange between Representative Rene Ellmers ( NC  – 2 ) and Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebeliuss  (spam infested video at the links):

Rep. Ellmers: You also brought up the issue, when you were in Kansas [as governor and health insurance commissioner], that you fought against discriminatory issues. Now I-you know, as far as the essential health benefits [of Obamacare], correct me if I’m wrong, do men not have to buy maternity coverage?
Sec. Sebelius: Policies will cover maternity coverage for young and healthy-
Rep. Ellmers: Including men?
Sec. Sebelius: Under 30-year-olds will have a choice also of a catastrophic plan which has no maternity coverage.
Rep. Ellmers: The men are required to purchase-
Sec. Sebelius: Well, an insurance policy has a series of benefits, whether you use them or not. And one of the benefits will be-
Rep. Ellmers: And that is why the health care premiums are increasing this high, because we’re forcing them to buy things they will never need. Thank you, madam chairman.
Sec. Sebelius: The individual policies cover families. Men often do need maternity coverage for their spouses and for their families, yes.
Rep. Ellmers: Single male, age 32, does not need maternity coverage. [Crosstalk] Rep. Ellmers: To the best of your knowledge has a man ever delivered a baby?
Sec. Sebelius: I don’t think so.
Chair: The gentlelady’s time has expired.

Aside from sheer stupidity, I don’t know why the Obama Regime wants young single men and old post-menopausal women to be forced to buy insurance coverage for maternity. Do you?

When I bought my car, I got the option package which included electric windows.   Got spoiled by not cranking.   However, I drew the line at the sun roof.   There just is not enough sunlight in Rochester to justificy the additoinal expense.  Then the Obama Regime must think your money grows on trees.

snark2.jpgThe Snark of the Day, from Richard Cohen, RCP:

Where is Casey Stengel when we need him? In 1962 as the manager of the brand new and determinedly hapless New York Mets — 40 wins, 120 losses — he looked up and down his bench one dismal day and wondered, “Can’t anybody here play this game?” That phrase kept coming at me recently as I watched the impressively inept performance of the Obama administration in both foreign and domestic policy. On a given day, this administration makes the ’62 Mets look good.

Yeah, I know.   I’ll go back to snarking conservative, but the Obama Care train wreck has left me awash in liberal quotes.
Addendum Eric
Note that this quote David has found is of a piece with the quote he posted yesterday…there is a concerted effort to separate Obama and his failures from leftist policy.
I say it again, these failures are the best that can be expected from leftist policy. Obama, far from being inept, has done a very good job indeed, of implementation of liberal policy. Thing is, the logical result of leftist policy is disastrous, every time its tried. What we see here is a denial of that point.

Obama Care is a like.  President Dim Won’s oft repeated statement, with respect to Obama Care, that if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance  has been deemed by Jonah Goldberg as a lie of historic magnitude, video:

From the right wing extremist news organization, employer of Miss Chrissie Matthews, NBC News:

That means the administration [sic, regime] knew that more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them.

Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, “if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan,” was still saying in 2012, “If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”

Reax, William A. Jacobson, Legal Insurrection:

You can keep your doctor and your insurance plan if you want to. Guaranteed.

It was more of a “lie” than George W. Bush’s statements regarding Iraq having WMD stockpiles, which were in reliance on faulty intelligence that most Democrats and others in the world believed too.

With Obama, there was no bi-partisan cheering section as there was with Iraq.

There never was a basis for the categorical sales pitch.

The professor said never.   The regime knew, and the regime lied.   Hold the regime accountable, support Senator Ron Johnson,  from Melissa Quinn, Red Alert Politics:

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) announced Friday he plans to introduce a bill titled the “If You Like Your Health Plan, You Can Keep It Act” next week. The legislation will amend the Affordable Care Act to allow Americans to keep their current health insurance plans as opposed to discontinuing such plans and forcing them into the exchanges.

“Americans want the freedom to choose their own plans and want to be in control of their own health care,” Johnson said in a press release. “They don’t want Obamacare destroying what they have and what they like. They don’t want their personal choices regarding their health plans and their families’ health plans canceled by Obamacare.”

If Barack and Kathleen Sebelius attempted this bait and switch act while selling used cars, they would both be in jail.

Addendum:   Reax, R.S. McCain:

How bad is the failure of ObamaCare? Bad enough that MSNBC’s Morning Joe can’t ignore it, says Pete Da Tech Guy. While they cannot ignore it, however, the liberal media must find some explanation that makes this failure look less predictable than it was, and how to make President Obama’s deliberate lies look like innocent errors:

It keeps getting deeper.

No, Governor Palin, the truth behind the ACA mess is that Obama and his gang of golfing buddies are idiots.

Hat tip: Noel Sheppard, Newsbusters.

Addendum…Eric…
That they may be, but what we see here is an excuse as to why government healthcare is a failure. This tossing Obama under the bus after being his tireless cheerleader, was eminently predictable. Rall is trying desperately to protect his socialistic ideals, here, by declaring Obama an incompetent idiot.  And, failing.

The Democrat’s Version of Health Insurance Would Have Been Cheaper, Simpler, and More Popular (So Why Did We Enact the Republican Version and Why Are They So Upset?)

Lay off the cheap booze Bobby. The Patient Protection and [Un] Affordable Care Act, b/k/a Obama Care, passed both the House and the Senatge with zero, nil, nada republican votes. The democrats wrote the bill in secret,, passed with no republican votes and partially shut-down the government to inflict it on the American public. You, democrats, wrote it, passed it and refused to protect the public from it. You own Obama Care.

snark2.jpgThe Snark of the Day, from Scared Monkeys:

Not only do 60% of Americans think the Obamacare implementation is a joke, but the premise and model of Obamacare is a lie and failure. President Barack Obama promised that Obamacare would lower premiums. Barack Onama promised that if you liked your doctor, you could keep your doctor. Obama promised that with Obamacare, if you liked your health care plan, you could keep your health care plan. ALL WERE LIES.

If Dim Won had any pride,. he would be ashamed to have his namesake legislation based on nothing but lies.
