I have no idea why it is so important for Nancy Pelosi to pretend to Catholic, from John McCormack, Weekly Standard:
At a Thursday press conference, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi condemned a bill that would prohibit abortions during the final four months of pregnancy with an exception for when the life and physical health of the mother is at risk.
Asked what the moral difference is between what Dr. Kermit Gosnell did to babies born alive and aborting those same infants moments before birth, Pelosi refused to answer.
“As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this,” Pelosi said. “I don’t think it should have anything to do with politics.”
Hat tip: Allah Pundit, Hot Air.
I, for one, am not aware of any tenet of Catholic faith that would hold late term abortion, which near to infanticide. Mrs. Pelosi seems to worship at the altar of some different god.
It seems apparent why the Obama administration has been hiding Joe Bide, from Liberty Unyielding:
File this one under “aren’t you glad we didn’t elect an idiot like Sarah Palin to be one heartbeat away from the president?” Actually, according to the current buffoon who is a heartbeat away from the president, we didn’t elect George W. Bush in 2000 etiher. Maybe it is his dementia kicking in or maybe he’s in a time warp, but Joe Biden claimed at a fundraiser for Ed Markey on Tuesday that Al Gore had actually won and that the Supreme Court was wrong.
Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000. Is the Strutting Delaware Blue Hen so stupid as to think our President is elected by popular vote or that the Florida Supreme Court had real intentions to actually counting the ballots in Florida. Hint they never ordered any recount.
Back when the Patriot act was passed, we were in a war, and the administration, and for that matter the Congress, at least initially, were unanimous in that declaration. In war, one expects some degree of rights degradation in support of the war effort.
Since then, however, Obama has declared that war to be over. Theyve invested a lot of lives in maintaining that mantra. Yet, the patriot act has been expanded, and radically changed to give the government sweeping and unquestionably unconstitutional powers, despite Candidate Obama’s proclmation that “that’s not who we are”.
I was willing to trust Bush with the Patriot act because he hadn’t used the Justice Dept to harass reporters who dared write outside the mantra of the WH. He hadn’t used the IRS to harass political opposition.
Obama can make no such claims of innocence. On that basis, the government current chant of “trust us” does nothing to impress me.
When we were at war, we had a plausible reason for the constitutional excesses of the Bush era. Obama lost that excuse when he declared the war over, and sealed his own fate with the justice Dept and IRS and the long list of other abuses.
Its time to hold this government accountable.
And side note to Lindsay Graham.. Shut up. you’re part of the problem America faces, and we would be better off if you crawled back into your hole.

Barack Obama hates the phrase “Global War on Terror”, and loathes the very idea of fighting militant Islam. Yet Obama seems to have to problem waging war on the American public, from Tim Stanley, Telegraph (UK):
Those crazy American conspiracy theorists who live up trees with guns and drink their own pee don’t seem quite so crazy anymore. It turns out that a “secret court order” has empowered the US government to collect the phone records of millions of users of Verizon, one of the most popular telephone providers – a massive domestic surveillance programme and a shocking intrusion into the lives of others. For the first time in history, being an AT&T customer doesn’t seem such a bad thing after all. Of course, it isn’t the first time that a US administration has spied on its own people. The origins of this particular order lie first in the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and then in Section 215 of the Patriot Act, backed by George W Bush and passed by Congress after 9/11. Normally, domestic surveillance only targets suspicious individuals, not the entire population, but in 2006 it was discovered that a similarly wide database of cellular records was being collected from customers of Verizon, AT&T and BellSouth. There was plenty of outrage and plenty of lawsuits, but the National Security Agency never confirmed that the programme had been shut down. It would appear that it’s still in rude health: the latest court order for collecting data runs from April 25 to July 19
If Obama does not even recognize the concept of a Global War on Terror, why does Obama have his national intelligence service on war time footing to wage war on the American public?
It is official Obamatard policy that no good deed will go unpunished, the only good baby is a dead baby, via Karen Lonely Conservative:
Based in New York City, the Expectant Mother Care-EMC FrontLine Pregnancy Centers has helped more than 42,000 women find abortion alternatives.
Apparently that is enough lives saved from abortion to make EMC a target for the FBI. Chris Slattery, National Director of the pregnancy center chain, tells LifeNews that, consistent with the recently discovered IRS attacks on pro-life groups, the FBI is now targeting EMC.
“President Obama has put the FBI on me, and they have politely invited me to headquarters to “talk” this week,” he said. “Domestic terrorism agents have called me in to answer their questions this week, as they launch an absurd case to intimidate us.”
Reax:
I don’t hear much about them targeting abortion centers.
Abortion kills a living human being. Is the Obama administration afraid these potential future voters might join the Tea Party?
A question I’m hearing of late from a few, as regards the Democrats and the current list of crimes…. (You might call them “scandals”….) is, “How do they get away with so much?”.
It’s a valid question, because what we are currently seeing causes everything else to pale, by comparison, including the greatest presidential scandal in our history…. Nixon.
The comparison is valid for several reasons. First, because it only took one crime to get Nixon on the rocks…. and a goodly number of Republicans in Congress, along with one very dedicated scandal-monger… one Hillary Clinton. Irony aboounds on that one. Hip deep in the scandal that eclipses the one in the investigation for which, she was famous for demanding what the President knew, and when he knew it. Of course, on the receiving end, she now whines “What difference does it make?”. That Karma thing is a real mountain, isn’t it?
But, even with that whole thing to the side, the Democrats as a whole, and this administration in particular, seem to be getting away with a great deal more than Nixon ever did. I think I’ve got that one figured out, at least partially.
There is, in most people the desire to not seem to complain about EVERYTHING… to maintain the image that one is at least fairly reasonable. In talking with other bloggers of late, I find that this is one reason there hasn’t been a louder attack on Obama and the Democrats. As one friend put it, “Just about everything these people have done is complaint worthy. Certainly, a good bit of their actions since 2008, taken individually would have created a firestorm, had a conservative or a centrist of either party been in office. ”
True. As I say, it only took one such scandal to bring Nixon down. Then again, he had a press that was willing to go to the ends of the earth to roast his buns, whereas Obama has a press seemingly willing to do the same to protect him.
But look beyond that rather obvious point…. The key here is”Taken individually”.
Certainly the Obami have created such a target rich environment, that its nigh on impossible to cover all the targets presented.. All one can do is react to the bigger issues. The Obami have been quite successful at getting away with all they’ve done to us, simply because they’re flooding the field with so many transgressions, that most slip through the cracks. Its rather like trying to stop a flood with a limited number of sandbags.
And the sandbags? Inspectors General. Since 2008, Obama has been notably NOT nominating Inspectors General, as the posts have become vacant. So, even if there is a large outcry, which given the press and their leftist slant, seems unlikely at least, it will be nigh on impossible to prosecute.
So much for the most honest and transparent administration in history.
Barrack Obama is the first Chicago machine politician elected to serve as our President, and he should be the last. Chicago politics is all about keeping the political machine in power and could care less about the citizen save from getting his or her vote for the machine, from Steve Hayward, Powerline:
When President Obama nominated Eric Holder for Attorney General, the Republican establishment was not displeased. As I wrote at the time, “most members of that establishment feel more comfortable with their fellow Washington insider than they do with taking their chances on an Obama nominee to be named later.” At Power Line, though, we had major concerns about Holder. Prominent among them was his lack of honesty. For one thing, we doubted Holder’s testimony to the Senate that, when he pushed through the pardon of Marc Rich, he didn’t know Rich had assisted America’s enemies, including Iran, or that Rich’s wife had donated large sums to Democratic and Clinton interests. If Holder truly was as ignorant as he claims to have been, we argued, it was because he didn’t want to know. President Clinton wanted the pardon and Holder wanted to get it accomplished.
Chicago style politics is all about power, getting it, keeping it and abusing it. Nobody better illustrates Obama’s Chicago thug politic than Eric Holder.
OK< I've been working today, and haven't had much chance to say this. Please remember what today was all about, and why you had the day off. Thank a vet.
OK, so you’re graduating.
It’s of course a huge day in your yet young life, and one that you should be proud to have accomplished. Certainly, I want you to know that your Mom and I are proud of you for having gotten here, and I want, in a fatherly way, to advise you on what you’re going to find of the far side of this milestone.
The first thing you’re going to find is that you’re the same person, that you always were. I know that might come as a bit of a shock to you, or perhaps even a disappointment, so I thought to get that out in the open, right off. This might not make sense to you right now, but given a few years, it will. We, many of us, spend our childhoods thinking that some milestone will change us, like someone’s tapped us on the bean with a magic wand. … Presto-chango, you’re an adult. Well, it’s not quite that straightforward a process.
I once wrote that at our core, we’re still, and always, the same scared little 12 year old we have always been. By that I mean, there’s always the self-doubts that drive us, and they never go away. They keep us questioning ourselves, and our actions…. Do I really want to do this? Do I really not want to do that? That’s a good thing, actually, because it helps to keep us from doing really stupid stuff.
But inherent in that same 12 year old is a sense of wonder. Its important that you never lose that, because once you do, you really do start changing, and growing old. I wrote to this point a few Christmases ago. That bit contains some lessons you should never forget.
The second thing I want you to know is that you already know right from wrong, and good from bad. I and your mom have taught you that much, hopefully by example. All the rest of it is mere application of those principles, and I know you’re capable of dealing with such matters out of hand.
The third thing I want you to know, in case this wasn’t made clear to you, this milestone doesn’t mark the end of your learning process, but the beginning. The last 12 years worth of schooling was about teaching you how to learn. Yes, you learned stuff along the way, but mostly this was about training your brain to adapt correctly to conditions you and I cannot yet see. You’ve gotten to this point because you’ve proven your ability there. And that brings me to…
The fourth thing…Change is part of life. Often as not that change is painful to accept. Usually, its harder if we don’t accept such change… but always remember, within that context, the right and wrong you know so well. Remember that those who tolerate everything stand for nothing. It comes down, my son, to what you will and will not stand for. You are defined by those choices.
The fifth thing is simple and yet broad in its implications. There will never be a better spokeman for you, than you. Don’t be waiting for someone to come along to express your desires, your needs, and your perceptions. While that statement is certainly applicable to the political, it also involves your personal life as well. If we hold, as I have for decades, now, that our politics is the expression of our mostly closely held beliefs, and needs, then this part of my writing here cannot be separated from the political, OR the personal. Don’t depend on government. Not only will government never be the perfect spokesman for you, but anything that government provides, can only be given to you after being taken from someone else. Right and wrong, again.
The sixth thing you need to know is that you need to cut yourself some slack. There are always disappointments in our lives… both the professional and the personal. Failed relationships, jobs, etc… places we zigged when we should have zagged. And often, some of the most painful disappointments are where we didn’t do anything wrong, at all. Trust me when I tell you that some situations will be hard to live with, and we all have them. Old jobs. Old relationships. Things we have done that we’re not particularly proud of. Avoid, if you can mulling these over for extended periods. These things will rip you up faster than a coral reef. You need to forgive yourself and others… and continue on.
And finally, know that your Mom and I love you… and that will never change. We think you’re a very special person. We know the good things you are capable of. We are here for you.
Congratulations on your graduation. Now, for the next step.
Fox News’ Carl Carmeron notes:
Republicans are using tough new tactics to disrupt President Obama’s second-term agenda and appointments, beginning to step up their fight six months after the party’s presidential election defeat.
Minority Republicans in the Senate this week boycotted a committee vote on the president’s nominee for EPA administrator, Gina McCarthy. Separately, they delayed another panel vote on the president’s pick for Labor secretary, Thomas Perez, for a second time.
The moves were blasted by Democrats as continued obstruction by an obstinate party.
“This is a pattern,” Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., said. “This is a pattern of blocking President Obama’s confirmation votes on his key Cabinet positions.”
But they come as Congress approaches yet another election year, with Republicans trying to get back on offense.
In addition to the nomination delays, Republican leaders fired off a letter this week to the president refusing to appoint anyone to an ObamaCare panel meant to hold down Medicare costs.
The Independent Payment Advisory Board, as it is called, has been criticized in the past as a “death panel” — reflecting concerns that it would be used to deny care to seniors — though supporters say it would not ration care.
The letter from House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell cited concerns about access to care. “Because the law will give IPAB’s 15 unelected, unaccountable individuals the ability to deny seniors access to innovative care, we respectfully decline to recommend appointments,” they wrote.
This may have been the ad the republicans should have run, in Twelve. However, consider it the first political ad for Campaign 2016, video:
Hat tip and more: ABC News:
It was the Benghazi attack ad the Republican National Committee created but never aired.
ABC News has obtained an ad the RNC made last fall and approved to air in the final weeks of the presidential campaign. The ad begins with a replay of Hillary Clinton’s famous “3 a.m. phone call” commercial from the 2008 campaign and then cuts to video of the burning U.S. consulate in Benghazi Libya.
In September of last year, the democrats had a story to explain Benghazi, Now all they has a story, which does not explain anything.
I note with wry amusement, the video was leaked the day after the Benghazi hearing, Coincidence?
B.J. Clinton wagged his finger at the American people and claimed he never has sex with that Miss Lewinsky Mrs Clinton lied when she blamed the Benghazi massacre on an awful internet video. You would think that as long as the Clintons have been telling lies, that they would be better at by now.

The Snark of the Day:
Did the Supreme Court of the United States do the right thing when it stopped the Supreme Court of Florida from making Gore president? Gore might have run the country with the distinction and brilliance his allies see in him.
Or, he might have run it like Current TV.
Noemie Emery, Washington Examiner.
Al Gore has been a man who has consistently failed to do his duty.
Look at the bright side, Congresscritter elect Mark Sanford will not be the only reprobate in Congress, from Fox News:
Former Republican South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford revived a scandal-scarred political career by winning back his old congressional seat Tuesday in a district that hasn’t elected a Democrat in three decades.
The comeback was complete when he defeated Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of political satirist Stephen Colbert. With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, Sanford had 54 percent of the vote.
Memo to Elizabeth Colbert Busch, you could not beat a political dead man, who had no national party support and with the entire media on your side. Does Mickey D need a new burger flipper?
Memo to Mark Sanford, you a reprobate.
In the midst of all the phoney media heroes, like mere basketball players or stuffy politicians, we have a real live hero, Charles Ramsey, video:
A hero is a person who risks his life for a noble cause. Mr. Ramsey is on such person.
Hat tip: Ed Morrissey: Hot Air.
From Brietbart:
The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis…”.
The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.
Remember that proselytization is just a fancy word for speech. The Obamatards want to ban speech about religion, at least religions, not approved by the regime. Good luck with that one.
When I enlisted I swore an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States. So did Barack Hussien Obama. You can not prosecute a soldier for expressing his personal opinions without violating the Constitution.
