BRYAN COUNTY, OK–A day off for fall break was anything but relaxing for a 12-year old Bryan County girl, when an intruder broke into her home on Michael Avenue.
Deputies say, the girl was home alone when a man she’d never seen before, rang the front doorbell. They say when no one answered the door, the man went around to the back of the house and kicked a door open. That’s when authorities say, the girl grabbed a gun and hid in a bathroom closet.
“He had worked his way all the way through the house and into the bathroom. And from what we understand, he was turning the doorknob when she fired through the door.”
In Morgan’s UK,I’d expect Miss Doe would be in jail, had she shot any intruder.

I know further than none of the proposals the president put forward would actually have stopped Newtown from happening. So of course we must ask why he’s doing this.
I found particularly ominous the constant reference to its for the children. Obama’s breaking out of a 11 year olds letter demanding the guns be banned reminded me of a quote the perhaps will put this into a framework for you..
“The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.”

And so we see that Dear Leader takes his cues directly from one of the worst tyrants in world history. To my mind the first indication that the bit with children is being used as a prop is when this self same individual is a loud supporter of partial birth abortion. Let’s have no more confusion about the kind of person that we’re dealing with the White House right now, and his supporters.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Braced for a fight, President Barack Obama on Wednesday unveiled the most sweeping proposals for curbing gun violence in two decades, pressing a reluctant Congress to pass universal background checks and bans on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines like the ones used in the Newtown, Conn., school shooting.

The president was flanked by children who wrote him letters about gun violence in the weeks following the Newtown shooting. Families of those killed in the massacre, as well as survivors of the shooting, were also in the audience, along with law enforcement officers and congressional lawmakers.
“This is our first task as a society, keeping our children safe,” Obama said. “This is how we will be judged.”
That except when it does not approve of using children as props.
Jan 16 (Reuters) – The White House condemned as “repugnant and cowardly” an ad by the National Rifle Association that mentions President Barack Obama’s children as receiving armed Secret Service protection.
The ad comes as Obama unveils sweeping efforts to reduce gun violence that are for the most part opposed by the NRA, the nation’s leading gun rights group. The ad accused Obama of hypocrisy for having the Secret Service protect his children while opposing the NRA’s call for more armed guards in schools.
“Most Americans agree that a president’s children should not be used as pawns in a political fight. But to go so far as to make the safety of the president’s children the subject of an attack ad is repugnant and cowardly,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said.
The National Rifle Association is right. Obama does think his children are better than yours.

Sen. Charles Schumer says retailers that sell assault weapons should stop offering them for purchase while Congress discusses gun regulation legislation.
Schumer on Sunday released a letter he sent to major retailers asking for a voluntary moratorium.
The New York Democrat says consumer demand for guns has gone up in the weeks since the December mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.
Schumer says Congress is debating the issue, and if measures get passed that limit these type of weapons, it won’t help if more of them have recently been sold.
President Barack Obama has made gun control a top priority. Vice President Joe Biden is expected to give him a comprehensive package of recommendations for curbing gun violence this week

If Congress is really interested iu curbing violence, why the obsession with a minor cause of homicide death rifles? Why not focus more signficant problems like knives and hammers?
Just a thought here… Am I the only one having an issue with the armed guards being proposed for some schools, since the guards being proposed are representatives of Government? All this does is further the idea that the only ones who should have guns are the government, or the lackeys thereof. I’d rather see private citizens from the district doing this duty.

Gun Free Zones are supposed to protect our children, and some politicians wish to strip us of our right to keep and bear arms. Those same politicians and their families are currently under the protection of armed Secret Service agents. If Gun Free Zones are sufficient protection for our children, then Gun Free Zones should be good enough for politicians.

Two law abiding citizens questioned by Portland police. Imagine the media outrage had these two been say same sex couple or looked like Obama’s brothers Evidently white heterosexual males have no rights the Portland police deem to recogniza:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -Two men carrying assault rifles on their backs said they were simply exercising their Second Amendment right, but police said they scared plenty of people.
Calls started coming in to 911 dispatchers shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday. Callers said two men with guns strapped to their backs were walking through the area of Southeast Seventh Avenue and Spokane Street in Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood.

“Exercising my rights with a rifle to try to decrease the demonizing of peacefully exercising your rights in public,” one of the men told Fox 12. He said his name is Warren, but did not want to provide a last name.
Portland police identified the men as Warren Drouin and Steven Boyce.
Note he Portland police revealed the names of two law-abiding citizens. More proof the information about a citizens personal weapons is too important to trusted to the government.

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newtown from ever happening again. We attended today’s White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals.
We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be “prejudged,” this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners – honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems. President Obama signed a law today granting lifetime Secret Service protection to former presidents and their wives.
If Two Face had any balls, he would both have vetoed the bill and issued an executive orders disarm the Secret Service and make the White House a “gun-free safety zone.” However gun control is for the little people.
Does one John Cook, of Gawker, actually like his family? The only thing dumber than living in your own self-created gun-free safety zone is telling the entire blogosphere that you and your family live in one.
