Never let it be said that CNN bothers to hire reporters who were sober in high school.  Jim Acosta demonstrates the depth of his ignorance by assuming legal immigration policy should be governed by a poem; by forgetting that people from the Philippines, the Republic of Ireland and India speak English; and that he has no clue of the difference between legal and illegal immigration, video:

Will Lord and Master Acosta mandate a press one for Sharia law.  Remember back when the networks used to assign their best and brightest to the White House beat.

Here we have a case of a railroad CEO mouthung precisely what the left wants to hear…

The CEO of freight railroad CSX Corp., one of the largest U.S. haulers of coal, warns that the days of transporting and burning coal are numbered.

“Fossil fuels are dead,” Hunter Harrison told analysts Wednesday, according to media reports. “That’s a long-term view. It’s not going to happen overnight. It’s not going to be two or three years, but it’s going away in my view.”

..

And of course the left is press is all over this remark… And, just as obviously they’re treating it like gospel. But as I say it’s not going to happen that way. Reality keeps rearing its head.
The issue is that Harrison is mouthing exactly what the entrenched State wants to hear. Of course by the time he gets done sacrificing the railroad to the environmentalists we are going to have another case of “too big to fail” on our hands…. And we’ll have CSX being taken over by Conrail again. Isn’t that how it happened the first time around?

And by the way Mr. Harrison, if fossil fuels are dead, what are you going to run your locomotives with? Unicorn farts?

Are you seriously considering converting the entire CSX system to electricity? Even leaving aside the installation and maintenance costs of such a system you are aware aren’t you that there’s no way in hell that our national electric grid will even Supply for your minimal needs much less any room for growth. How many nuclear power plants do you propose installing so that you can run your trains?

It seems clear to me that you haven’t thought through your statement but instead are mouthing what your governmental benefactors want to hear.

Personally Ive withdrawn all my investment in CSX. With this kind of leadership there’s only one direction to go.

 Down.

In watching all of this I only have one more comment. Does anyone think that the conservatives are really in control here? That we don’t have a lot of work to do on the cultural side of things?

What if I told you that the increases in the rates of heart disease that we have seen over the last 50 years and continue to see, are the direct result of the government recommended low fat diet?

The rest of us have simply followed the recommended mainstream diet that is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, not knowing we were causing repeated injury to our blood vessels. This repeated injury creates chronic inflammation leading to heart diseasestroke, diabetes and obesity.

Let me repeat that: The injury and inflammation in our blood vessels is caused by the low fat diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine.

This goes directly to what I’ve been saying for a generation now. Everything that government gets its hands on, it screws up.
Tell me again how you want the government to run your Healthcare System.

Climate change alarmists pretend their alarmism is based on real science, yet they refuse to treat their so-called science as real science. For example there is no scientific principle of consensus. In order to scientific a theory must be testable. Further no test can prove a theory true. However one test that does not collaborate the theory proves it false. Those any particular theory can either unconfirmed or falsified. Test a particular theory one hundred time, and get ninety nine confirmation and one falsification. The Al Gore’s, and other mental midgets, would claim the theory to true based on ninety-nine percent consensus. On the the other hand, a scientist would consider the theory falsified. The climate alarmist do not accept the idea of falsification: from Watts Up with That:

President Barack Obama’s chief science adviser compared the Trump administration’s use of “red teams” to debate climate science to a “kangaroo court” meant to “create a sense of continuing uncertainty about the science of climate change.”

“But I suspect that most of the advocates of the scheme are disingenuous, aiming to get hand-picked non-experts from federal agencies to dispute the key findings of mainstream climate science and then assert that the verdict of this kangaroo court has equal standing with the findings of the most competent bodies in the national and international scientific communities,” former President Barack Obama’s science czar John Holdren wrote in a Boston Globe op-ed published Monday.

John Holdren meet Karl Popper, from Stanford Enclyclopedia:

[Karl] Popper accordingly repudiates induction and rejects the view that it is the characteristic method of scientific investigation and inference, substituting falsifiability in its place. It is easy, he argues, to obtain evidence in favour of virtually any theory, and he consequently holds that such ‘corroboration’, as he terms it, should count scientifically only if it is the positive result of a genuinely ‘risky’ prediction, which might conceivably have been false. For Popper, a theory is scientific only if it is refutable by a conceivable event. Every genuine test of a scientific theory, then, is logically an attempt to refute or to falsify it, and one genuine counter-instance falsifies the whole theory. In a critical sense

A Swiss patent clerk once challenged Sir Isaac Newton’s consensus Laws of Mechanics.  Newton lost.  So why does Holden thing his pet theory is exempt from critical Analysis when Newton’s(and Albert Eisenstein’s) was not?

The late Justine Damond thought she heard an intruder.   She called 9111, and one of the responding Minneapolis police officers hot Damond dead, from Useless Toady:

“We have a tragedy at hand, and we have a community that’s frightened. That’s what I want to highlight and that’s the reason we’re here,” said Minneapolis City Councilman Abdi Warsame.

Officer Mohamed Noor, who pulled the trigger and killed Justine Damond, is Somali-American. Damond was white.

[…]

Noor, who has received recognition from the city’s mayor, also has two open complaints against him.

Warsame is calling for an end to racism and Islamaphobia that he said has targeted their community since the July 15 shooting — mostly through online and social media comments.

But he specifically called out former U.S. representative Michele Bachmann, for insinuating in a speech last week that Noor may have shot Damond for “cultural reasons.” The former Republican congresswoman and one-time presidential candidate, represented Minnesota’s 6th District.

When a police officer is singled out by the mayor for the mere fact that he was hired, and appears to a loose canon, it is appropriate to find out why the mayor hired Noor. How many police officers did Mayor Betsy Hodges hire for cultural reasons and how many standards did she bend or waive to get them on the office?

If Councilman Warsame wants to end the perception that the Minneapolis Police Department is racist, he should opposed the  Minneapolis of hiring police officers based on their race.   Till  Minneapolis remedies their racist hiring practices. the good citizens of Minneapolis should weigh the risks calling their police department.

And to think some used to complain about too many Irish and Italian cops.

According to the recently discovered papers of the late Robert Byrd (Klu Klux Klan)  it is a waste of time to even attempt to teach black students math, NPR.   Byrd argues rather than educating blacks or other inferior minorities, we should simply dumb down their education, and then give them a diploma based on attendance.   Hey, it worked for Obama.

It is a smart man who know the limits of his own knowledge.   It is a fool who claims to know what is not knowable.   Bill Nye, the mechanical engineer turn entertainer, is the latter, from Daily Caller:

Comedian Bill Nye “The Science Guy” said Wednesday that the climate change movement can only move forward once the older generation begins to die off.

“Climate change deniers, by way of example, are older. It’s generational,” Nye told the Los Angeles Times in an interview. Nye added that he shouldn’t be too hard on older citizens, however, because he is “now one of them.”

“We’re just going to have to wait for those people to ‘age out,’ as they say,” Nye said, adding that “age out” is a euphemism for dying. “But it’ll happen, I guarantee you — that’ll happen.”

All the blabber mouths who claim to see the perils of climate, and seek to save World that neither wants nor needs to be saved, all afraid of open debate.   Real meteorologists have real trouble predicting the weather tomorrow.   Yet this mechanical engineer claims to be able to predict the climate in decades to come, proclaims it dangerous and professes to be able to change it.    You could say that denying Nye’s bunk makes me a skeptic, true.   However, I would say it makes me a realist.

Oh by the way Daily Caller, where are the trigger warnings?   The mechanical engineering guy said that I need to die.   What to stop the self-proclaimed social justice warriors from attacking senior living centers?

The darkest day in the history of American politics, if you are Phil Donahue.

Not this, Chief Justice, Supreme Court of the United State, Roger B. Taney. from Black Perspectives:

“They had for more than a century before been regarded as beings of an inferior order, and altogether unfit to associate with the white race, either in social or political relations; and so far inferior, that they had no rights which the white man was bound to respect; and that the negro might justly and lawfully be reduced to slavery for his benefit.”

Not this, Harry Blackmun et al, recognizes that prenatal life exists, sees no duty to protect such life, then invents a mother’s so-called right to have her unborn child killed, millions of whom has since been consigned to such a death, from Legal Information Institute.

Not this, Lyndon B. Johnson stages Gulf of Tonkin Incident to allow his pursuit of war he neither is willing to fight  to win, nor willing to quit.

Rather this, from Hill:

Former talk-show host Phil Donahue on Saturday reflected on President Trump’s administration, calling it “the darkest political moment in American history.”

“This is the darkest political moment in American history,” Donahue said on MSNBC’s “AM Joy” Saturday. “Who’s going to argue that?”

Little Donny trump talked about having sex with willing women. B.J. Clinton had sex with unwilling women, and in turn B.J.’s wife attacked his accusers.  Mr. Donahue, buy a clue.

How dumb does one have to be to work as so-called journalist for McClatchy?   Dumb enough to shallow, hook, like and sinker, a concocted democrat talking point, from Alex Roarty, McClatchy

Top officials in the Democratic National Committee are worried about a sudden drop in voter registrations in Colorado, concerned that President Donald Trump’s new election commission is encouraging Democrats across the country to remove themselves from the electoral grid for fear of revealing personal information to the GOP leadership.

Ok maybe, and hopefully the ‘rats’ fraudulent voters are fleeing their sinking ship  The problem with attempting to blame an apparent surge in de-registration  on fear of revealing personal information is that Colorado voter registration does not have any such sensitive information, see Colorado Voter Registration Form(PDF)    It is fear motivating Colorado voters to de-register and it not fear of revealing personal information, of what are these former registered voters actually afraid?   Do bother to ask McClatchy

Do you suppose that media still considers Crystal Mangum a survivor of sexual assault?  Do you see the problem, from the Kyler Sumter, Useless Toady

Where does President Trump’s secretary of education stand on campus rape?

That question was in the air as U.S. Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos spent Thursday in meetings about Title IX — specifically as it applies to sexual assault on campus.

DeVos met with three different groups separately: advocacy groups and survivors of sexual assault, men’s rights groups and students falsely accused of sexual assault, and university administrators and Title IX coordinators.

The Toady asks the question where does President Trump stand.   The paper answers the question of where the Toady stands, and the smell is not good there.

One, buy a clue for fifty dollars. Rape and Sexual Assault are not now, or ever have been synonyms. While rape is a form of sexual assault, not all sexual assaults are rape. It is a lie to write a about a campus “rape problem” and the use claims about sexual assault as if it were some sort of proof.

Two, referring all people who complain to have been sexual assaulted as survivors treats an allegation as if it were an established fact. False accusations do happen. It is not helpful to condemn all accused as if they were guilty, i.e. the entire Duke lacrosse team.

From NPR:

A federal judge[U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith] in Michigan granted temporary reprieve from deportation on Thursday to more than 100 Iraqi nationals with criminal convictions who were living in the Detroit area. They had argued they could face persecution or torture in Iraq because of their status as religious minorities, The Associated Press reports.

[…]

The Justice Department had argued that immigration court is where the Iraqi nationals should make their case — not U.S. District Court. But U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith halted the deportations for 14 days while he decides if his court has jurisdiction.

If Goldsmith is willing to ignore the law as written, I say just chuck the law altogether and deport Goldsmith. Congress has the power to decide a court’s jurisdiction and Congress has decided that this is not Goldsmith case to decide. Depend on an Obama appointee to ignore any law for which he personally does not support.

This is not about foreign nations not getting their day in court. It is about under our Constitution, in which court do they appear.

In a move almost as shocking as the discovery of gambling in  Rick’s, and almost as  devastating as that of the late Arlen Specter (February 12, 1930 – October 14, 2012) Jumping Joe Scarborough will not longer feign being a republican, from Useless Toady:

MSNBC host, and former Republican member of Congress, Joe Scarborough announced he is leaving the GOP during a taping of Tuesday’s Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

“I’m not going to be a Republican anymore,” Scarborough said. “I’ve got to become an independent.”

The conservative pundit said the Republican Party “betrayed their core values” before Donald Trump won the 2016 election. Scarborough cited the paucity of Republicans who condemned Trump for racism during the campaign.

Joe don’t the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Google search on, “new york state governors who became president.”

Four men have become President of the United States after serving as Governor of New York: Martin Van Buren, Grover Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt, and Franklin D. Roosevelt, and six were Vice President of the United States. (Van Buren and Theodore Roosevelt held both offices.)

The last New York governor to obtain national office was Nelson Rockefeller, who was appointed, not elected.   The last New York governor elected President was Thomas Dewey Franklin Roosevelt.

There was a reason.  in the days of yore, New York was the most populous state and a middle of the road state.  Alas no more.   New York is an extreme blue state with nary a republican in state wide office.   The governor who even pretended to be a republican was\ George Pataki.   The last republican in state wide office was Al D’Amato

As Pataki and Mario Cuomo discovered, the last presidential train from New York left in the 1040’s .   Yet the national party of the the left can dream.   Politico has floated current New York governor, Andrew J. Cuomo, a/k/a Little Andy for President.   I say to Little Andy run.   For when and if Little Andy were to run for President, he was be run over by the bus called Mainstream America, or Fly Over Country.   Little Andy out of touch with real Americans with American values, from Washington Times:

“It’s more about extreme Republicans versus moderate Republicans,” he said in a radio interview Friday, National Review Online reported. “You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate.

“Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

Hat tip and reax, Fuzzy Slippers, Legal Insurrection:

The progressive left’s problems with Cuomo are rooted in his not being progressive enough. On the right, however, the feeling is that he is far too progressive to appeal to middle America.

Cuomo not only publicly announced that “conservatives are not welcome” in New York, but he also signed the anti-Second Amendment SAFE Act that even New Yorkers blatantly rejected and ignore.

If upstate New York is a harbinger for things to come, then the resulting pushback on Cuomo’s SAFE Act is resounding.

Little Andy has already written all the opposition ads needed to abort his presidential run.

James Comey, fired head of the FBI appears to be either ignorant of or apathetic to the laws he was sworn to uphold, from Hill:

More than half of the memos former FBI chief James Comey wrote as personal recollections of his conversations with President Trump about the Russia investigation have been determined to contain classified information,

[…]

This revelation raises the possibility that Comey broke his own agency’s rules and ignored the same security protocol that he publicly criticized Hillary Clinton

[…]

Comey testified last month he considered the memos to be personal documents and that he shared at least one of them with a Columbia University lawyer friend. He asked that lawyer to leak information from one memo to the news media in hopes of increasing pressure to get a special prosecutor named in the Russia case after Comey was fired as FBI director.

[…]

FBI policy forbids any agent from releasing classified information or any information from ongoing investigations or sensitive operations without prior written permission, and mandates that all records created during official duties are considered to be government property.

Mr. Comey argued that Mrs. Clinton was not guilty of mishandling classified information because she had no criminal intent. That is to say Mrs. Clinton was, and is, too stupid to understand her actions were felonious. Maybe Mr. Comey will argue that his false testimony to Congress that his records of his work conversations with the President were his personal property was also not a crime, because He too was too stupid to understand the very law he was sworn to uphold and defend.

From Conservative Tree House:

In an article identifying the originating source of the wrestling gif tweeted last week by President Donald Trump, CNN says they’ll keep his name private so long as the person remains compliant to the media thought police.

The direct threat is: “CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.”

Can the retreads at FNN actually find an individual Reddit poster, or is FNN just pretending to be criminal thugs? Either way the folks at FNN owe us and apology.
