This showed up in my mail about an hour ago.

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters tonight gave a detailed plan to Bill O’Reilly on how he would fight terror.

“One: You accept that you are in a war. Two: You name the enemy, Islamist terrorists. Three: You get the lawyers off the battlefield […] you accept there will be collateral damage and you do not apologize for it. You do not nation build, you don’t try to hold ground. You go wherever in the world the terrorists are and you kill them, you do your best to exterminate them, and then you leave, and you leave behind smoking ruins and crying widows. If in five or 10 years, they reconstitute and you gotta go back, you go back and do the same thing, and you never, never, never send American troops into a war you don’t mean to win,” Peters said.

Col. David Hunt said that there must be economic pressure in addition to the military campaign that Peters detailed. Hunt said that just killing terrorists has not worked.

“Killing them is the only thing that works,” Peters fired back.

And that really is the truth of the matter. That’s how you defeat Islam. Those are the battle lines. They are not battle lines we drew, they did. Of course, that means having enough testosterone to do the job. And of course the smarts to recognize that there is no alternative left.

Now before you start talking about how I’m some kind of an armchair general, or other nonsense such as that, perhaps you’d best explained to us how it is that placating Islam has done so well for the French.

I notice that there is an awful lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth coming from such outlets as the New York Times, and other liberal rags, that the outcome of these attacks in Paris is going to result in Europe swinging to the right. Well, look…If they do that, it’s because the European people have correctly identified the left as being the enablers of these animals.

That said, isn’t it interesting that the first thing out of the mouths of the mainstream press is worry that the advancement of world socialism is going to suffer as the people notice what happens when socialists come to power? What in the world do they think the record-setting election of a couple of months ago was all about?

We are in for a hard time, people. How hard it is, depends entirely on how quickly we act.

It strikes me that there’s an awful lot of people who are currently chastising Charlie Hebdo for going too far in offending Muslims, who were just a short decade ago complaining about how George W Bush personally cutting funding  for an artist, thus stifling his free-speech when he produced a crucifix in a bottle of his own urine, and called it art.

I guess now that the Socialists are in charge, free speech isn’t all it’s cracked up to be anymore. Or maybe it’s just that Christians aren’t as likely to shoot up your establishment, and the people in it, because they’re offended. I mean maybe you remember all the beheadings and the shootings and the burnings by overwrought Methodists and Lutherans that resulted from Mapplethorpe dumping his load of crap on society and expecting them to pay for it. I certainly don’t.

If there’s something deeper going on here than that I’ll be blessed if I can see it. I encourage explanation. Doubting, all the while, then I’ll get any.

You know, I guess there’s a reason we see more terrorism when liberals are in charge here in the US. It’s because terrorism tends to work better, then. It always works better where the spineless hold sway.

It’s equally striking to me, is that what we have just been witness to is the path not to tread. The French have been bending over backwards, cedeing entire neighborhoods to the Muslims. Giving them autonomy within those collectives. What the Muslims wanted the Muslims Got. And yet we still see things like this.

This is a lesson that should have been learned when Neville Chamberlain came back waving a paper in his hand it was signed by Adolf Hitler, about the appeasement of a mortal enemy. It simply doesn’t work.

I suppose the French people see that a lot more clearly than their own government does. I suppose also the same of the Americans. One wonders how long it has to be before recognition is had in each of those governments.

Word has it just now that the terrorists in that incident around Paris are in custody, those that are still alive anyway. As are the hostages that were taken. That’s a fairly good outcome, certainly.

But now, the French have started to ask themselves who is responsible for enabling these  cretins  in the first place. And rightfully so, I think. Already certain groups within France have started taking matters into their own hands, and I’m beginning to suspect that that kind of response is long overdue, given the government’s lack of ability to control the explosion of Islam in that country.

Here at home, our own news people, (and I use the term advisedly), are all a Twitter about what group of radical Islam these particular terrorists were attached to… Were they part of al Qaeda? Were they part of Isis? And so on.

First of all, the answer to that question hardly matters anymore. The outcome is the same. So too, is the problem. And the problem of course is Islam itself. It’s long past time to start treating the problem as such, and stop trying to placate them. There is no placating them, there is no compromising with them, there is no negotiation with them. Playing whack-a-mole, with this group or that group, simply isn’t going to solve the issue.

There is but one response. It’s time we took it. The French people, if not their government, have already started coming to this conclusion. How much longer before we come to the same conclusion? How many more people need to die?

And don’t give me that I’m being overly critical of Islam. Voltaire once said that if you want to see who’s in charge, look closely at who you can’t criticize. Our governments, and those on the left, seem unable to criticize Islam as such. That’s a problem I don’t share.

And by the way, while I do have the editor open,  how bad are the these terrorists, that they lost to the French of all people? And how is it that the French have more of a spine then we?

It’s only a matter of time before the American people start asking that very question.

File this under doing the right thing, from Daily Mail(UK):

Two parents turned their sons over to police after recognizing them in footage of an electronics store burglary which showed a group of five teens helping themselves to stacks of cell phones and laptops.

The mom and dad – who have not been named – took their 14- and 16-year-old children to the police station in Fayetteville, North Carolina, after watching a news broadcast that featured the crime.

Well done

Little Dickie Durbin wants you to pay yet more in gas taxes for the privilege of driving your own vehicle, from Laura Barron-Lopez, Hill:

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) says he thinks “now is the time” to raise the gas tax, which hasn’t been touched by Congress in over 20 years.

“I think now is the time to do it, but we ought to do it in a thoughtful way,” Durbin said on Wednesday.

Durbin said he wasn’t speaking for the entire Democratic caucus but noted two factors lawmakers should consider when opening up discussion on increasing the tax.

One, Durbin said, is “the most devastating impact is on lower and middle income families… so we have to find some tax relief for them if we increase that gas tax.”

Tell Dick Durbin to go to Hell, pedaling in the bicycle lane paid for by your federal tax dollars.    The federal government uses federal gas tax dollars as slush fund congressional earmarks.    Not one more federal gas tax dollar for congressional pork.   Use road dollars for roads.

Dirty Harry ReidThe Senate Majority Minority Leader, Dirty Harry Reid (NV)  is sporting a shiner.  What gives?   From John Hinderacker, Power Line:

What does it look like happened to Reid? He looks like he has been in a fight, and not with an elastic band. Some are speculating that he had a run-in with Las Vegas underworld characters. There is zero evidence for that. And I might be completely wrong: perhaps Reid is an unsteady, elderly gentleman with precarious balance, and a snapping band caused him to fall with what seems like extraordinary force. But I doubt it. I think it is questionable whether we are being told the truth about what happened to Harry Reid.

Reid doesn’t remember or will not say how got his shiner. So you tell me.

I note with interest, David’s post on this subject. I share his incredulous response to Obama and his nonsense on this matter.

That said, I say out here in the real world it’s time to start fighting back. Past it, rather.

From Bridge Johnson, PJ Media:

President Obama “strongly condemned” the terrorist attack on the offices of a satirical magazine in Paris, saying they’re reaching out to French officials to help as the gunmen are on the loose.

“I strongly condemn the horrific shooting at the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris that has reportedly killed 12 people,” Obama said.

Two police officers were among the dead.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrorist attack and the people of France at this difficult time,” Obama continued. “France is America’s oldest ally, and has stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States in the fight against terrorists who threaten our shared security and the world. Time and again, the French people have stood up for the universal values that generations of our people have defended.”

“France, and the great city of Paris where this outrageous attack took place, offer the world a timeless example that will endure well beyond the hateful vision of these killers. We are in touch with French officials and I have directed my administration to provide any assistance needed to help bring these terrorists to justice.”

Sure Barry!

Even the WaPo has noted that there are fifty-three, out of fifty-three, fewer Cuban political prisoners released by Castro than was promised by the regime, from Washington Post:

An air of secrecy surrounds the fate of 53 political prisoners whom Cuba agreed to free in its historic deal with the United States last month, as Washington and Havana’s refusal to publicly identify the dissidents is fueling suspicion over Cuba’s intentions.

Almost three weeks after the agreement, neither dissidents on the island nor leaders in the Cuban exile community know how many have been let out or whether any of the prisoners they are aware of are among those scheduled to be freed.

There is a simple explanation for the regime’s, White House and State Department, inability to name any of these supposed fifty-three political prisoners Castro was alleged to have promised to release. There are none. The regime simply pulled the number fifty-three out of thin air to justify surrendering to Cuba.

Hat tip:   Neo-Neocon.

There were  no promise from Castro, only lies from the regime.

http://m.eonline.com/news/610899/these-kanye-west-fans-don-t-know-who-paul-mccartney-is-which-means-all-of-society-is-doomed

Granted that we’re talking about toss- away popular culture. but how isolated does one need to be even than that rather insular environment , to not understand who Paul McCartney is?

Mind you, I think McCartney is an idiot in general, and specifically for for tying on with this poisonous git, but let’s be fair and say this is simply McCartney trying to remain relevant. That’s understood.

But now, let’s translate this to real life.

Ray Bradbury famously said that you don’t have to burn books, all you have to do is get people to stop reading them. So connect that, to this question….  Do you suppose that any one of the commenters on that stream, has been doing any historical reading at all? Do you suppose that any one of them has a blinking clue as to how we got where we are as a people, as a country, as individuals?

Leave aside for the moment the issue of what’s happened to music. ( and, no, for the record, I am NOT calling what West produces, music or anything even close to it).

What troubles me, is the implications of this to everything else, including the political, it is just downright staggering.

Such people will believe anything, including global warming, and Obama is a good president, rich people are evil, and the government is the only entity that should have guns. The Constitution is outdated and written by a bunch of old white guys, and so on.

Seems to me, I haven’t heard any singing out of the cage in a while.
