Well, reports are now that Clint Eastwood’s new movie American sniper is about to clear a 100 million dollar 3 Day weekend, which is approximately double what it was supposed to do according to the Hollywood big wigs. This, supposedly, is astounding Hollywood, and it’s certainly shaking the left to its very roots. Indeed there are a number of people who have been quoted as saying that Eastwood has been successful at creating a Republican propaganda movie. Of course, what they don’t say is is that it’s entirely truthful and meticulously factual.

These collectivist morons figured that because it was such, it wouldn’t sell. Which is probably why they are in shock today. The message, the mantra, has been for years that anything strongly pro-american, pro- conservative, and unapologetically so on both points, simply wasn’t going to get anywhere. This hundred million dollar opening weekend has set that entire nonsense on its ear.

So, how does this affect the voting booth as the title suggests? Well the same thing applies. We have been told for years by the Democrats, by the press, of course that’s double clutching a, and by the GOP leadership, that if we get to unabashedly unapologetically conservative, will never get any votes.

I’ve been saying it for years, but that is simply untrue. The issue is that the American public is far more conservative then the left is willing to let on, and the GOP leadership as well. In fact they are farther to the right as a whole, then anything that either party has coughed up in decades.

There is a huge vein of conservatism in this country, & I think it is in fact the majority of Americans, who are under-represented and untapped both in popular culture and at the voting booth.
And, I wonder if the GOP is actually listening.

Mike Huckabee has just removed himself completely from any consideration as a presidential candidate. Is coming out in support of the Common Core initiative as opposed to actually removing government from the education business, complete this process. We labeled how could be as a complete idiot 6 years ago.

That labeling has since been justified completely.

Shovel_GoldenRemember back when even if you did agree with the Pope, you recognized that was a smart and educated man. Not so any more. The current Pope is chanting like a deranged idiot:

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Pope Francis said there are limits to freedom of speech, especially when it insults or ridicules someone’s faith, in comments that the Vatican later said Friday did not mean justifying the attack on the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Every tenet of the Christian faith, of which the Pope is the chief defender, offends some one. Indeed it must. If the Ten Commandment mirrored human nature, there would be no point to them.  Shall the Pope now become pro-choice to avoid offending the abortion industry and lobby, or ignore is own advice to defend church doctrine?   He can do both.

She had me at hello. from Weekly Standard:

WASHINGTON, DC – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today announced that U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) will deliver the Republican Address to the Nation following the State of the Union address on Tuesday, January 20, 2015

Will Joni make em squeal, video:

I think see will.

A report from Breitbart shows more businesses are losing ground then are gaining ground. That’s the first time in 35 years that happened.

And here I thought Obama had solved all these economic problems.

Notice the time frame also. 35 years. Let’s see now, who was in office 35 years ago? Jimmy Carter, maybe? Same policy, same result. Get the picture?

I’ve said it for years now. The left has the habit of taking one subject and turning it into something else entirely. For example welfare. Propose welfare cuts, and despite the fact that the majority of welfare recipients are white, the left will label it an issue of racism against blacks.

Well, we see another example of this this morning. The White House, which could not be bothered to send anyone to orale in Paris even though they had people in the city, has decided to employ social services people to combat terrorism.

This is pretty much trying to cure a leak in a tire with a knife. Let’s be honest about this. If social services were the answer to violence of any kind, much less terrorism, Detroit would be a veritable paradise.

The White House is still afflicted by the notion that the world’s problems can be solved by singing Kumbaya around the campfire. They are desperately trying to avoid the only logical conclusion to draw about how to deal with the terrorist problem which is in fact and Islam problem. Of course, they can’t even get themselves to admit that it is in fact an Islam problem. So why in the world should we be surprised that they come up with such a misdirected solution to the problem?

To defeat evil, you must first recognize and acknowledge it.   The regime refuses.  Charlie lives, even if the regime is rooting for it to die.

So, now, the White House has decided that it is fair to say they were wrong on attending or not attending the anti terror march in Paris.
Several points. First of all this administration couldn’t possibly have cared less when four Americans died in Benghazi. Secondly this administration couldn’t possibly have cared less about that woman who was beheaded in Oklahoma by an Islamist. Thirdly, this is an administration that went out of its way to minimize the connection between Islam and the 13 murders at Fort Hood. Everybody else saw it but this administration. Same goes for the four people that were murdered at the Boston Marathon. And so on, and so on.

Now, I don’t know about you, but the history of this thing tells me that this is far more than a mere oversight. And I am left with one conclusion.

War on the American people, Blondie says people are literally dying for a cigarette in Major Bill’s New York.

Global terror,  war on children, I agree Moochelle that bringing back the girls was a good idea. But now three of them did come back, and now you are going to need a bucket to collect their parts.

More Charlie, in Paris, millions rally against Islamic terror, mean while back at Barry’s Place.   Was it too cold to golf?  While Dim Won punted on terror, Nice Deb went off tackle, part I, part II.   Dim Won can not address Islamic terror.   He can’t even say the two words in the same sentence.  Frenchy  calls criticism  of Dim Won ‘s Paris absence  quibbling.   Funny, Kerry entered the political arena by pretending to stand for something and feigning courage.  Too old to fake it any more, old boy.  The Other Smitty calls Sally Kohn, everything except smart.

Politics, Jay Leno says Mrs. Clinton seems old and slow.    Gee that could explain way Mrs. Clinton never noticed B.J. running around on her, behind her back.   That or  she lacks an extra wide rear view mirror.

Our schools and colleges are laying a guilt trip on those young people whose parents are productive, and who are raising them to become productive. What is amazing is how easily this has been done, largely just by replacing the word “achievement” with the word “privilege.”

Something is rotten in Charlottesville.   The local police could find no evidence to support the fictional rape story published in Rolling Stone. Yet for reasons unknown to rational beings, University President Teresa A. Sullivan, one did not apologize for her rash rush to judgement and two proceed as if the fraternity was guilty anyhow, from UVA Today( University of Virginia):

Phi Kappa Psi Reinstated at the University of Virginia

The Virginia Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at the University of Virginia has been reinstated effective immediately, University and Phi Kappa Psi national officials announced today.

The reinstatement resulted after consultation with Charlottesville Police Department officials, who told the University that their investigation has not revealed any substantive basis to confirm that the allegations raised in the Rolling Stone article occurred at Phi Kappa Psi.

U.Va. President Teresa A. Sullivan informed fraternity officials of the decision to reinstate the chapter’s Fraternal Organization Agreement with the University after learning of the update to the police investigation.

“We welcome Phi Kappa Psi, and we look forward to working with all fraternities and sororities in enhancing and promoting a safe environment for all,” U.Va. President Teresa A. Sullivan said.

Last Tuesday, Sullivan authorized new addenda to the University’s Fraternal Organization Agreement that were submitted by the four student-led Greek leadership councils. The new addenda outline specific practices that each fraternity and sorority will put in place to enhance the safety of their members and guests. Sullivan also announced the immediate reinstatement of all social activities, with the stipulation that the FOA addenda must be signed by the president or designee from each fraternity and sorority by Jan. 16. Phi Kappa Psi became the first fraternity to sign the Inter-Fraternity Council’s FOA addendum on Jan. 8.

Sullivan should apologize to the fraternity and then tender her resignation.

While Eric is busily posting away on the fate of civilization, I ponder a more trivial, but albeit more complicated subject, to wit Potty Parity. I’ll let the girls have the floor.  Leading off, Soraya Chemaly, Time:

Long lines for women’s restrooms are the result of a history that favors men’s bodies

[…]

Women aren’t standing in lines because we bond over toilet paper pattern or because we’re narcissistic and vain. We’re standing in line because our bodies, like those of trans and queer people, have been historically shamed, ignored, and deemed unworthy of care and acknowledgement. We shouldn’t have to wait or postpone having these needs fairly met in public space.

Next up, Kemberlee Kaye, Legal Insurrection:

I for one, stand in ardent opposition to the “right to pee” movement. No offense, men. Y’all are great, wonderful, amazing creatures, but you’re also gross. Sharing a bathroom with your kind at home is one thing, but being forced to share the public john with the whole lot of you? That is cause for protest.

And clean-up, Dana, Patterico’s Pontifications:

Look, Ms. Chemalya, we’re waiting in line because women take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to use a restroom. It’s not just a zip-in, zip-out experience. It’s a use the facility, wash your hands, do your makeup, fix your hair, gab with your friend who went to the restroom with you social event. Of course there is a line!

Note: Chemalya ignores that middle-aged men and older face their own biological difficulties which can cause lines at public restrooms for men as well.

Commentary: I think Chemelya’s ilk, the perpetually aggravated feminist are doomed to fail. They get peeved by anything and everything, and are devoid any sense of humor.

Alas poor Soraya, there is simply no right to pee, rather only a biological need. However unless Soraya wants to water a tree, she needs a place to pee, which is a product of human endeavor, and quite apt have been a male endeavor.
