Fauxasquawa, a/k/a Lying Lizzie, b/k/a Elizabeth Warren is heap big mad, and taken to the war path, from Ace:

Elizabeth Warren, Socialist Hero, Threatens Her Critics

Elizabeth Warren sits on the Senate banking committee. This supplies her with the power to harass and harm banks.

A group called Third Way published a paper critical of Warren’s views on banking.

Elizabeth Warren responded by demanding that banks — which she has legislative and investigatory power over — divulge any donations they may have made to Third Way.

Squaw has thin skin.

Some democrat congresscritters have apparently conflated McFood franchise owners with the federal government, apparently believing that if you own a McFood franchise, you can just print money, from Bloomberg

Democrat members of the U.S. Congress are urging McDonald’s Corp. and other fast-food chains to raise wages for store workers.

“Too many hard-working families are being forced to depend on poverty-level wages,” 53 members of Congress wrote in a letter being mailed today to restaurant executives including McDonald’s Chief Executive Officer Don Thompson. “Paying fair wages and putting more spending money in the hands of consumers will strengthen our economy.”

If sixteen dollars exist in the economy before a McFood worker is paid a McWage of say nine dollars per hour, there will be still be sixteen dollars in the economy after he is paid. Raising the McWage to fifteen dollars, will still leave the same sixteen dollars in the economy. Maybe the democrat congresscritters, just means that more money taken from those evil republicans and given to those saintly democrats?

President Period, a/k/a Barack Obama, from Hill:

President Obama declared Tuesday that ObamaCare “is working” and that “we’re not going back,” as the White House looked to reboot its efforts to sell Americans on the president’s signature healthcare law.

Obama said that “poor execution” of the rollout of HealthCare.gov had “clouded” the benefits of the bill but said he would not allow technical glitches to undermine a program that was providing financial security for many Americans.

Who we Paleface?

Obamacare is not, and was never intended to be, health insurance for the ruling elite.  Rather Obamacare is Obama’s plan for the subject class.

In other Obama family news, his uncle is not going back either, from Boston Globe:

A federal immigration judge ruled Tuesday that President Obama’s uncle can remain in the United States, sparing him deportation to his native Kenya in a case that riveted attention on the elderly man who had lived under the radar in this country for 50 years. For most of that time, he was here illegally.

For the Obama clan, health insurance and immigration laws are only for the little people.

Should the real address of the Regime’s website be Potemkin.gov

As President Obama kicks off another campaign tour to tout Obamacare, the bad news about the law keeps pouring in. Something tells me he won’t mention that up to a third of those who signed up for insurance through the exchanges may not be covered.

Hat tip, Karen, Lonely Conservative.

While hundreds of the survivors of the Regime’s healthcare lottery, may only believe they have health insurance, the Regime will have their personal confidential and private information. Sleep well tonight.

The fierce urgency of then, ala New York Times (2004):

What is critical is for the winner of the presidential race, and for the three European nations, to make it urgently and abundantly clear to Iran’s president, Mohammad Khatami, and his mullahs that the West will brook no further delays, and that it is serious and united about imposing stern sanctions if Iran won’t abandon its nuclear fuel enrichment efforts. Iran has already broken one deal with the Europeans, and it has drawn sharp criticism from the International Atomic Energy Agency.

If the ruling mullahs continue to sense indecision and disunity in the West, they will surely continue with their program. The result would be a disaster. Joschka Fischer, Germany’s foreign minister and a strong proponent of diplomacy, warned earlier this week that a nuclear Iran could set off a Middle Eastern arms race. And North Korea would see no reason to abandon its weapons.

Hat tip: David Gerstman, Legal Insurrection.

Now I grant that had “French” Kerry karried the day in 2004, the Slimes might have changed her tune sooner. Yet as it is, the Slimes is giving the clear impression that she holding the Obama Regime to a far lower standard, than she did for Dubya. As the Slimes can not bear to see a black president fail, she has to redefine success downward, over and over again.

The Snark of the Day, from R.S. McCain:

So there you have the New York Times worldview in a nutshell: The SEIU and the AFL-CIO, good. American troops, bad.

I don’t expect any McFood brigade ever would be deployed. Do you?

Roger Taney wrote that citizens had the right to keep and travel with guns, Scott v. Sanford (1857)

For if they were so received, and entitled to the privileges and immunities of citizens, it would exempt them from the operation of the special laws and from the police [60 U.S. 393, 417]   regulations which they considered to be necessary for their own safety. It would give to persons of the negro race, who were recognised as citizens in any one State of the Union, the right to enter every other State whenever they pleased, singly or in companies, without pass or passport, and without obstruction, to sojourn there as long as they pleased, to go where they pleased at every hour of the day or night without molestation, unless they committed some violation of law for which a white man would be punished; and it would give them the full liberty of speech in public and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might speak; to hold public meetings upon political affairs, and to keep and carry arms wherever they went. And all of this would be done in the face of the subject race of the same color, both free and slaves, and inevitably producing discontent and insubordination among them, and endangering the peace and safety of the State.

Now New York City wants you to turn in your guns:

1. Immediately surrender your Rifle and/or Shotgun to your local police precinct, and notify this office of the invoice number. The firearm may be sold or permanently removed from the City of New York thereafter.

Hat tip:  Guns Save Lives.

In 1857, if you were recognized as a citizen you had rights.   In the New York City of 2013, not even citizens have rights.

For Thanksgiving some few cook a turkey.   Many more dine on bird.   But this year Dana Milbank wrote a turkey, Washington Post:

At this time of Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the U.S. military — not just for the usual reason that it protects us from our foes but also because it has the potential to save us from ourselves.

[…]

But one change, over time, could reverse the problems that have built up over the past few decades: We should mandate military service for all Americans, men and women alike, when they turn 18. The idea is radical, unlikely and impractical — but it just might work.

I estimate that some four million Americans turn eighteen each year. Mustering in, processing, training up combat levels and mustering out some four million youths a year, will burn through a massive amount of resources yet produce a military both massive and impotent.    The purpose of a military force is to prepare for war and to prevail in war.  Milbank’s military could do neither.

No secret, I have never been a fan of Barack Obama.   His candidacy never passed the smell test.  Give me a break, the most liberal member of the Senate was somehow was going to morph into some sort post-partisan President.  I know a when a fool such as Dim Won, can be mocked, and I do mock President Fifty Seven States.   I know it and I admit it.

Yet when comes to the same man purported to have been the editor of the Harvard Law Review,  a lawyer, and law professor is either too dumb to know that when is mocking someone or too dishonest to admit it, from a letter from Obama to a constituent, Daily Mail (UK):

‘I… appreciate your concern about the toxic political environment right now. I do have to challenge you, though, on the notion that any citizen that disagrees with me has been “targeted and ridiculed” or that I have “made fun” of tea-baggers,’

Now maybe in Dim Won’s mind, referring to a political opponent as male homosexual is meant to be taken a a compliment?

President Obama does not consider himself to be particularly ideological, and I don’t consider President Fifty Seven States to be particularly smart, from Ed Roger, Washington Post:

The president’s belief that little of what he does is ideologically driven suggests he is living with a pampered, unchallenged mind. He has been told he is so smart for so long that he sees only clarity in his actions and unchallengeable reason in his conclusions. The president’s belief in his own intellect makes him think that whatever he does is simply the only thing a thinking person would do. Nothing ideological about that. And as president, he is constantly flattered, and his confidence that his analysis and conclusions are superior to others is readily reinforced. Presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett tells us that Obama has been “bored to death his whole life.” Perhaps she is onto something. I guess there is something ho-hum and tiresome about being right all the time.

President Fifty Seven States has spent his life cloistered in a liberal fantasy land.

What the entire world has been waiting for, with baited breath, from Democrat and Chronicle, Rochester, NY:

The 42nd-annual Webster Turkey Trot saw 4,536 runners cross the finish line on a frosty morning with temperatures hovering around 20 degrees. Registration topped 5,800, event organizers said, but there were a number of no shows with the cold weather. Last year — when the high hit 61 — there were 4,822 runners.

;,,,]

RESULTS

Craig Coon, 25, of Penfield was the top finisher in the 4.4-mile race, with a time of 21:28. Kristen Lerra, 29, of Acton, Mass., was the first woman to finish, with a time of 24:44.

Connor Fitzgerald, 14, of Pittsford finished first in the 2.5-mile race with a time of 14:49. Samantha Dwyer, 25, was the first woman to finish, with a time of 16:55.

You may now resume your regular holiday festivities.

You can not have an agreement, if both sides will not agree to terms.   From Gateway Pundit, via Nice Deb:

The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday called invalid a press release by the White House alleged to be the text of the nuclear agreement struck by Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) in Geneva on Sunday.

“What has been released by the website of the White House as a fact sheet is a one-sided interpretation of the agreed text in Geneva and some of the explanations and words in the sheet contradict the text of the Joint Plan of Action (the title of the Iran-powers deal), and this fact sheet has unfortunately been translated and released in the name of the Geneva agreement by certain media, which is not true,” Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said on Tuesday.

Reax, Nice Deb:

BS meters should always go up whenever the Obama administration puts out a “fact sheet.” They’re understanding of the word, “fact” differs from most peoples’. Often, the word “fact” actually translates to, “politically expedient half truths”, “inaccurate”, or “out and out lies.”

An Iranian foreign ministry official accused Washington of releasing a factually inaccurate primer that misleads the American public.

One or both parties could be lying. It does not matter. If there is no agreement on what the agreement means, then there simply is no agreement.

Given the utter fecklessness and utter weakness of the Obama Regime, Iran could simply be rolling the Regime for an even sweeter deal.

Today’s handy household tip is courtesy of Neo-Neocon:

[D]ry the iPod under a light bulb for up to five hours, and then put it to sleep in a bed of rice for between two to seven days, then plug it in to charge and see if it lit up. If that happens, you’ve got a healed iPod. If not, well, at least it’s clean.

Be sure you washed behind the ear buds.

Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor, argues that thet the [un] Affordable Care Act, b/k/a Obamacare amounts to a  moral imperative, from Salon:

The moral imperative.  Even a clunky compromise like the ACA between a national system of health insurance and a for-profit insurance market depends, fundamentally, on a social compact in which those who are healthier and richer are willing to help those who are sicker and poorer. Such a social compact defines a society.

The other day I heard a young man say he’d rather pay a penalty than buy health insurance under the Act because, in his words, “why should I pay for the sick and the old?” The answer is he has a responsibility to do so, as a member the same society they inhabit.

The Act also depends on richer people paying higher taxes to finance health insurance for lower-income people. Starting this year, a healthcare surtax of 3.8 percent is applied to capital gains and dividend income of individuals earning more than $200,000 and a nine-tenths of 1 percent healthcare tax to wages over $200,000 or couples over $250,000. Together, the two taxes will raise an estimated $317.7 billion over 10 years, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.

Here again, the justification is plain: We are becoming a vastly unequal society in which most of the economic gains are going to the top. It’s only just that those with higher incomes bear some responsibility for maintaining the health of Americans who are less fortunate.

This is a profoundly moral argument about who we are and what we owe each other as Americans. But Democrats have failed to make it, perhaps because they’re reluctant to admit that the Act involves any redistribution at all.

If in fact the [u]ACA was a moral imperative and its auhors. people of the ilk of Dirty Harry Reid, San Fran Nancy Pelosi and Kathleen Sebelius would not be exempting themselves from the provision of the law. One can not deem the [u]ACA a moral imperative, and issue millions of waivers and delay its implementation.  Morality is not something which is imposed by the ruling class, but rather a creed to be lived.

Barack Obama no more considers the [u]ACA to a moral imperative than B.J. Clinton considers his marriage sacrosanct.
