Shades of Momma Grizzly Bear, Nice Deb takes her claws to Polifact and their claim that Death Panels were the 2009 Lie of the Year.   As killing patients is a design feature of Obama Care, it is easy to see why the Obama Regime refuses to take part in the their own plan.

The Snark of the Day, from from the New York Slimes, via Hugh Hewitt:

“It was strong sanctions, not the goodness of the hearts of the Iranian leaders, that brought Iran to the table.”

Chuckles is a rabid partisan, but he both Jewish and not stupid.

Does anybody in his right mind believe that Barack Hussien Oama or John “French ” Kerry have the slightest concern about American security or World Peace?   I for one, do not:

Geneva, Switzerland (CNN) — A historic deal was struck early Sunday between Iran and six world powers over Tehran’s nuclear program that slows the country’s nuclear development program in exchange for lifting some sanctions while a more formal agreement is worked out.

[..]

Despite the sanctions, Iran today has 19,000 centrifuges and is building more advanced ones, according to Mark Hibbs, a nuclear policy expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Most world powers believe that Iran could not realistically build a usable bomb in less than a year, Hibbs said.

Obama and Kerry have left Iran closer to having a nuclear bomb than Kathleen Sebelius is to making the Affordable Care Act, actually affordable.  I see no mention of dismantling Iran’s nuclear program.

The crack team here at Bitsblog has been blogging about Crystal Gail Mangum for over six years.  I have gone from rage to just plain disgust. Hopefully Ms Mangum will now be out of the news for a while. For, the woman who falsely accused the Duke Lacrosse team of raping her has been convicted for the real murder of Reginald Daye:

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) — A Durham jury found former Duke Lacrosse accuser Crystal Mangum guilty of second-degree murder Friday.

Mangum stabbed boyfriend Reginald Daye with a kitchen knife during an argument in April 2011. Daye died at the hospital 10 days later from complications related to the stabbing.

With all my luck, Ms Mangum will be the subject of a made for television bio-pic. Can’t wait to miss it.

Panic at LAX, Los Angeles International Airport, from Useless Toady:

A car crash just outside Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport and an anonymous call reporting a man with a gun in Terminal 4 incited panic Friday evening and triggered a large police response.

LAX spokeswoman Nancy Castles said the vehicle crash outside Terminal 5 Friday night caused passengers to report gunfire.

“Apparently there was a very loud crash. People inside the terminal did not know what was happening. Some people panicked and they self-evacuated from the terminal,”

Hay Zeus, imagine the panic if some kids managed to get their hands on some firecrackers.  The freedom loathing control freaks have managed to create a hoplophobic* culture.  Be thankful, the jack boots didn’t shoot anybody.

[*] Hoplophobia: an irrational fear of weapons, evidently real or imaginary.

The Los Angeles Times editorial board calls John F. Kennedy, a “transformational president” yet cites no transformation.

This week even Americans who weren’t alive on Nov. 22, 1963, are reading, writing and reflecting about the assassination of the 35th president 50 years ago. In the view of some critics, the fascination with both John F. Kennedy and his assassination is disproportionate and media-driven. We disagree. Despite political and personal weaknesses that were widely acknowledged within a few years of his death, Kennedy was a transformative figure, not just a charismatic celebrity. And his violent death rightly is remembered as a rupture in what had seemed an age of optimism and inexorable progress.

Alas the entire editorial board must be too young to  remember the ‘Sixties prior to Lyndon B. Johnson.   Unlike the LAT I am old enough to remember the Kennedy reign. Let me refresh the board’s faulty memory, or historical ignorance. To wit:

  • The Kennedy – Khrushchev summit. Kennedy was weak and the Russian peasant, sensed it.
  • The Berlin Wall. Harry S. Truman helped keep West Berlin free. Kennedy saw that East Berliners had virtually no chance for freedom. Khrushchev had the wall built. Ronald Reagan saw that it is was torn down.
  • The Bay of Pigs – a botched military invasion doomed a President unwilling to either cancel it or support it.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis – rookie President plays game of chicken with nuclear weapons.
  • Republic of Vietnam – President commits American combat forces.

I survived the Camelot era We were lucky.

Al Gore (hot air)The fiction of anthropogenic global climate change is meeting strong resistance, from Greg Rucker, National Review:

Poland is the host country for COP 19. With Australia blocking treasured warming-left initiatives, Russia formally calling into question the fairness of the entire UN process and Poland scheduling a coal conference and firing its environment minister in the middle of the COP, it is clear that many major countries no longer feel a need to go along with the global warming agenda.

Algore call your office. Your ball of yarn is unraveling.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie on hia favorite subject, from CNN:

“I don’t feel like I have any fence-mending to do or anything like that,” he said during a public interview on Monday at the Wall Street Journal CEO Council in Washington. “I am going to be me. And if I ever decide to run for anything again, if being me isn’t good enough, then fine, I will go home. This isn’t my whole life.”

Please. Go home, stay home. We need a replacement for President Fifty Seven States, and not some Obama lover.

Commissar of Education may have stuck his foot in his mouth, via the Washington Post:

Education Secretary Arne Duncan told an audience of state superintendents this afternoon that the Education Department and other Common Core supporters didn’t fully anticipate the effect the standards would have once implemented.

“It’s fascinating to me that some of the pushback is coming from, sort of, white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were, and that’s pretty scary,” Duncan said. “You’ve bet your house and where you live and everything on, ‘My child’s going to be prepared.’ That can be a punch in the gut.”

Overcoming that will require communicating to parents that competition is now global, not local, he said.

However thanks to Michelle Malkin, Duncan will now have an extra body orifice to use to extract his foot, via R.S. McCain:

Over the last 10 months, Common Core has imploded under withering scrutiny from the tax-paying public, informed parents and educators, and more national media. States under both Republican and Democrat governors have adopted moratoria on the untested standards, withdrawn from the costly testing consortia, and retreated from partnerships with Common Core-promoting educational software data-miners like inBloom.
There’s much more to the fight than simple left-right divisions. The Common Core peddlers include meddling, Fed Ed Republicans from Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee to progressive billionaires Bill and Melinda Gates to Newscorp. media giant Rupert Murdoch and dozens of educational corporate special interests that stand to gain billions from the Common Core testing/textbook/data-mining boondoggle.

Stacy’s Reax:

Except for the 2006-2007 fight against John McCain’s amnesty plan, I’ve seldom seen her this fired-up.

If what’s wrong with our education system could be fixed by more federal money and more federal control, schools would have been steadily improving as federal involvement has vastly increased over the past several decades. The fact that a larger federal role in schools is not correlated with improvement — well, that’s evidence, isn’t it?

Fundamental transformation is not a synonym for improvement. The Obama Regime never sought to improve health care. Proof is that have exempted themselves from it. Rather the Regime sought control. Like wise the Regime will demand total control of public education, all the while sending their children to private schools.

PrintA new Roll of Shame, Twenty Seven ‘rat senators who lied about Obama Care:

SEN. HARRY REID (D-Nev.): “In fact, one of our core principles is that if you like the health care you have, you can keep it.” (Sen. Reid, Congressional Record, S.8642, 8/3/09)

From the District of Columbia:

Walter P.  WhiteWilliam P. White is [was] the Commissioner for the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking, known as DISB. Mr. White was appointed by Mayor Vincent C. Gray on February 4, 2011. He was confirmed by the Council of the District of Columbia on June 7, 2011, by a unanimous vote. As the agency head, he is the chief regulator of the District of Columbia’s financial-services industries, including insurance companies and their representatives, District of Columbia-chartered banks, mortgage lenders and brokers and all other non-depository financial institutions, as well as securities broker-dealers and investment advisors.

From Aaron C. Davis,Washington Post:

A day after he questioned President Obama’s decision to unwind a major tenet of the health-care law and said the nation’s capital might not go along, D.C. insurance commissioner William P. White was fired.

White was called into a meeting Friday afternoon with one of Mayor Vincent C. Gray’s (D) top deputies and told that the mayor “wants to go in a different direction,” White told The Washington Post on Saturday.

Being black, and honest is not sufficient for the Obama Regime. Only House Niggers need apply.

In a nation of laws, not even a King can waive statutory law.   The idea that President can simply change legislative law by executive fiat is flat-out absurd.   Commissioner White was right to question Obama’s fiat.   Well being right and a buck might get White a cup of coffee at McDonald’s.
