Stand with Phil Robertson, a man who understands and admits to understands biology.  An example of one  confused blogger, from Mahablog:

Since then we’ve had a lot more hate fests on the Right. The Duck Dynasty nothingburger scandal reached a height of absurdity when an Illinois businessman running for Congress called the DD paterfamilias Phil Robertson the “Rosa Parks of Our Generation.”

And for a jaw-dropping argument that intolerance of his intolerance is oppression, because his intolerance is just the spice that makes life interesting, do see Mark Steyn. But keep the Pepto-Bismol handy.

I care not to use Phil Robertson’s phraseology, nor would I compare Robertson to Rosa Parks. That said, I can see a comparison. Parks wanted to sit where she choose.  Robertson simply expressed the preference of virtually every father, ever.  Face it, if Maha’s father had not shared Robertson’s preference, there would be no Maha.

Has the Moron in Chief, a/k/a Dumbo, a/k/a President Fifty Seven States, b/k/a Barack Obama just realized that the Unaffordable Care Ace,  a/k/a Obamacare has taken too many torpedoes has is now sinking?   This sure look like full panic mode, from Megan McArdle, Bloomberg:

On Wednesday, Politico’s Carrie Budoff Brown reported that the administration was saying fewer than 500,000 people had actually lost insurance due to Obamacare-induced cancellations. This struck me as a strange leak: Half a million is a lot less than many people (including me) have been estimating, but it is still not a small number, and the administration has tended to sit on negative information until the last possible moment.

Yesterday, we had a more official announcement from the administration: Anyone who has had their policies cancelled will be exempt from the individual mandate next year. The administration is also allowing those people to buy catastrophic plans, even if they’re over 30.

Reax, Neo-Neocon:

One more thing—ever since the cancellations began, I’ve been wondering how Obama would respond if the political reaction to them was negative enough. My leading theory (and it was something of a joke, but also sort of not a joke) was that he’d declare Obamacare to be a disaster and that the people who’d been affected would be eligible for FEMA relief. This announcement of his today and the one last night aren’t far behind.]

Obama is an ideologically driven fool. Shame he had to destroy the nation’s healthcare system to demonstrate this fact.

Barbara Walters confessed to Piers Morgan that she had thought that Barack Obama was the next messiah, transcript via Newbusters:

Well, you’ve touched on it to a degree. He made so many promises. We thought that he was going to be – I shouldn’t say this at Christmastime, but – the next messiah.

So I ask but one simple question. What religion is Barbara Walters?

She clearly can not be Christian. The Christian’s believe their messiah arrived some two thousand years ago and died on the cross to absolve believers of their sins.

Likewise, Muslims already have their prophet.

The Jewish don’t profess to have a messiah, or least a messiah named Barrack Obama.

Buddhists don’t have a deity.

Atheists don’t have a god,

Agnostics, including yours truly, believe the existence, or non-existence, of a deity can neither be proven or dis-proven.

Barbara Walters has seen her god and his name was Barrack Obama.

Aside, I thought messiah demonstrated their exulted status by performing miracles. Obama only promised miracles, but has never delivered any. For example, a true messiah would not have tax the young and healthy to provides health care. He could just provide it by waving his arms. Evidently, Walters has a rather low standards for her messiahs.

John Podesta, accused congressional republican of being part of Jonestown like cult. via National Review:

“[The White House] need to focus on executive action given that they are facing a second term against a cult worthy of Jonestown in charge of one of the houses of Congress,”

Barbara Walters confessed to Piers Morgan that essentially was drinking Jonestown Kool-Aid, via Noel Sheppard, Newsbusters, transcript:

BARBARA WALTERS: Well, you’ve touched on it to a degree. He made so many promises. We thought that he was going to be – I shouldn’t say this at Christmastime, but – the next messiah. And the whole ObamaCare, or whatever you want to call it, the Affordable Health Act, it just hasn’t worked for him, and he’s stumbled around on it, and people feel very disappointed because they expected more.

Hat tip:  Karen, Lonely Conservative.

Gotta give the old biddy some credit.   At least Walters was smart enough to realize she was drinking the Kool-Aid.   Not so Piers Morgan.   The Brit is still on the Kool-Aid.

Evidently by inside the Beltway, the only known hate crime is voting republican, from Sean Sullivan and Scott Clement, Washington Post  (WaPo):

Haters gonna hate. But they plan to vote Republican.

Meet the haters.

We’re talking about the voters who’ve had it with all Washington politicians: President Obama, congressional Republicans and congressional Democrats. Despite their distaste for, well, everyone, when push comes to shove, these voters are lining up squarely behind GOP candidates for Congress.

So evidently, according to Misters Sullivan and Clement, not voting for the ‘rate is tantamount to hatred itself. Not that Barack Obama has told maybe more lies than any President in American history or that his signature law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act neither protects patients nor make healthcare more affordable.

The Snark of the Day, from R.S. McCain:

So which is it, egalitarians? Would you have us accept the biology-means-nothing argument for androgynous sexual equality, or would you have us accept the biology-is-everything argument that gay people are born with same-sex attraction? Perhaps you can reconcile the two claims, but forgive my street-smart skeptical hunch that you’re just being disingenuously opportunistic.

Just say no to homosexual political agenda

To how many people, I wonder, has the thought occurred that the reason Mandella was in prison all those years, that the south African blacks were oppressed, was the power of government?

Further, how many noted the disconnect that he embraced a powerful government as a solution to those problems?

It personally amazes me that so many black conservatives speak so highly of the avowed socialist, and I wonder… on what, save his color, do they base that overt approval?

Note, Canucks know snark,

Is Algore covered by Obamacare yet, and if so does cover removing his foot from his mouth?   From via Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:

Camel Egypt

Picture of the day: a camel in the snow in Egypt. It’s like a polar bear in the desert.

Al Gore predicted the North Polar Ice Cap would be completely ice free in five years. Gore made the prediction to a German audience in 2008. He told them that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.”

The Snark of the Day, from Allah Pundit, Hot Air:

In other news today, because Healthcare.gov’s doing so amazingly well now, HHS announced that they’re going to extend the deadline for phasing out state high-risk pools from December 31st until January. Even some sick people, who have the strongest incentive to transition to the new exchanges, can’t get enrolled in time.

Unlike Captains Obama and Sebelius, Captain Smith was smart enough to realize that his ship was sinking.

When will the liberals stop waging war on Christmas. First, Greenpeace tried to kill the entire holiday.   Now Aisha Harris, who already has her own holiday*, wants to replace Santa Claus, from Slate:

So let’s ditch Santa the old white man altogether, and embrace Penguin Claus—who will join the Easter Bunny in the pantheon of friendly, secular visitors from the animal kingdom who come to us as the representatives of ostensibly religious holidays. It’s time to hand over the reins to those deer and let the universally beloved waddling bird warm the hearts of children everywhere, regardless of the color of their skin.

I don’t think much of our culture’s treatment of Christmas, and I disdain Kwanza. Sobeit.  However, I have an offer for Ms Harris. I will leave Kwanza alone, and she should leave Christmas alone.    There is an historical and cultural basis for Santa Claus.  Therefore, Ms Harris should refrain from passing her judgement on cultures which she simply does not understand.

[*]   Admit it is not appropriate to exclude blacks, or anybody, from the celebration of Christmas.   However the creation and continuation of Kwanza should cause blacks to pause before they criticize the holiday some blacks have deemed insufficient.

davidl on December 11th, 2013

Christmas is a rather convoluted holiday. I say, the holiday is simply what you make it. What Greenpeace is making out Christmas to be is ugly. Greenpeace is playing like the Grinch and attempting to steal Christmas from everybody. The Greenpeace Grinch is attempting to scare children by making out Christmas to be exclusively about taking, and nothing to do with giving, or sharing, video:

Hat tip:   Karen, Lonely Conservative.

The Greenpeace idea of Christmas is ugly.  I reject it.

Yesterday (KING5):

Yet more evidence that Obamacare was never intended for the ruling class, but rather only the subject class, from Stephanie Kirchgaessner, FT:

Americans who are buying insurance plans over online exchanges, under what is known as Obamacare, will have limited access to some of the nation’s leading hospitals, including two world-renowned cancer centres.

Amid a drive by insurers to limit costs, the majority of insurance plans being sold on the new healthcare exchanges in New York, Texas, and California, for example, will not offer patients’ access to Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan or MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, two top cancer centres, or Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, one of the top research and teaching hospitals in the country.

Obama does not mind flying his family and dogs to Hawaii on the taxpayers’ dime, but god forbid that the public would have access to same level of healthcare as the First Dog.

The Snark of the Day, Charles Krauthammer on the White House’s touted Obamacare enrollment numbers, via RCP:

Well, if you do the math on that and you continue that enrollment up until the deadline of the 23rd of December, you come out with a number, which means that of the 5 million people who have lost insurance, 6% will have it restored. All the rest will not have it. And that’s without adding a single person who never had insurance in the first place. It is a disaster with the numbers that the White House is touting.

As I said before, at least Captain Edward Smith was smart enough to know that his whip was sinking,
