California Police Chief Ken James insisted earlier this month that the idea of a gun as a “defensive weapon” was a “myth.” Speaking at a news conference about gun control with California lawmakers, James explained that he was concerned with the amount of weapons owned by American citizens.
“One issue that always boggles my mind is that the idea that a gun is a defensive weapon,” James said. “That is a myth. A gun is not a defensive weapon.”
James is the Police Chief of Emeryville, California and the Police Chief Association’s Firearms Committee Chairman.
James is also the village idiot.

When was the last time the Chief did his mandatory drug & alcohol screening? But then again it is California and you are expected to see people this profoundly stupid. Check Colion Noir’s video, he never fails to amuse and deliver some darned common sense.
IF James was right, that guns were not defensive weapons, the White House, banks and CNN would not be protected by armed guards. Further the citizens of Emeryville should demand that James’ disarm his police force.
Then in defense of James, after seeing how the southern California police shot-up southern California in the attempt to apprehend the late Chris Dorner, James may be right. In the hands of the California police, guns are not defensive weapons.

Even the Pope had the good sense to know when to retire. Then Popes have to show up for their day jobs. Not so a senator. The Senate has been blessed with a few senators in their nineties recently. Whether senators like the late Sheets Byrd or Strom Thurmond even remembered what states they were representing is an all together different matter.
Evidently according to Chuckles, while Lautenberg is somehow entitled to respect, the poor voters in New Jersey not not entitled to a senator not in his dotage.
Here’s a report regarding a woman in New Zealand who died supposedly from addiction to Coca Cola. According to the report she drank a little over 2 gallons of the stuff daily. The resulting metabolic interaction caused her death. You can’t fix stupid.
BUT …. let’s do some “what if” thinking. Now, since Coca Cola supports left wing causes worldwide, ( witness, for example, the polar bears drowning because of global warming… when in fact the ice pack has been growing for the last 16 years) nothing will be said about this.
But can you imagine the results of this happening were they to support conservative causes? Leftists worldwide would be moving to ban it, referring to it as poisonous. Governments would ban it. We would doubtless hear from New York mayor Doomberg on the matter.

Suffice to say, it was not California law enforcement’s finest hour. While I have to reason to doubt that the late Christopher Dorner was guilty, even the obviously guilty, for example Rodney King and Orenthal Simpson, are entitled to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in court of law. Will either Sacramento or Washington investigate the violation of Dorner’s civil rights After all, we supposed to be A nation of lwas, not merely cops.
Okay here’s a couple questions on this Dorner event in the LA basin, now that they’ve apparently burned the guy down…
Did the LAPD exhibit itself as being were concerned for its own institutional safety then the safety of the citizens it was supposed to protect? Seems to me shooting up several different pickups that didn’t even look like Dorner’s Nissan Titan isn’t good police work. LAPD certainly didn’t do it self any favors here.
If the guy was as big a nut case as we have been led to believe, what in the world was he doing in a police uniform? I’ve been listening to the big talker in Los Angeles, KABC, for the last couple of days. One of the points that keeps coming up in discussion out there is that even in his academy days, he was regarded as a fruit loop. He got booted from the military, as well. So, that he managed to make it through those days into a police uniform does not speak well of the hiring and training practices of the LAPD. Did his race and racial targets in LAPD hiring, have anything to do with his not being dropped from that program, for what should have been obvious problems?
By extension, then, comes the question if the hiring practices and policies of the LAPD are that bad, how many other Dorners are still wearing LAPD uniforms? Perhaps quite a few, if we are to believe some of the brutality report we’ve been hearing:.. to say nothing of the varoius people who were detained and whose vehicles were shot up in the process of the Keystone Cops reaction to Dorner.
There are a number of people who were on record as having supported Dorner. I suggest this is evidence of just how far the insanity in California has spread. That said, LAPD is reaction to all of this added fuel to that particular fire.
I wonder why is so little being said of the manifesto he dropped on facebook? His own writings make him out to be so far left as to make Obama a centrist. Is the press afraid to make out a rabid leftist as the nut case he was? Perhaps this is the difference between right and left in this country. The right calls things the way they are and the left tries to avoid offending the nut cases.
An old friend from school, Linda, points out that the same happening occurred with the Fort Hood shooter. They refused to call that what it was… an act of war for fear of offending the nut cases. They ignored or glossed over problems for years with that individual as well…

Now, the obvious answer would seem to be that she’s made childhood obesity her issue, so that’s somehow asking for comment on the subject of whether she herself is at all fat. (I disagree with that sort of critique, by the way. She’s made the subject obesity and how it affects health, not mere fatness and how it affects beauty. For her issue, it’s fine that she doesn’t come across as thin. She looks robust and not health-impaired. If she looked thin, people would say she’s pushing vanity-based dieting and insufficiently concerned with the scourge of anorexia.)
Mrs. Obama has deemed herself an authority, the national authority perhaps, on diet and exercise. It is quite evident that whatever diet and exercise regiment Mrs. Obama is on is that it is not working. It is long past time for Mrs. Obama to get her nose out of how other people eat and exercise and get herself into shape first.
I did not make Moochelle fat. Nor did I tell her to meddle in other people’s diet and exercise regiments. What ever misery Mrs. Obama is in, it is entirely self-inflicted.
Dim Won, a/k/a President Fifty Seven State, b/k/a Barack Obama claims to shoot skeet “all the time.” Yet the photoshop photograph purporting to show Dim Won shooting skeet only shows him firing a blank round. Is Dim Won so stupid as to shoot skeet with a blank?
Is Dim Won actually shot skeet all the time, you would think the White House would at least have one such picture. Was Dim Won shooting a blank because he was afraid to fire a real shotgun shell or that the Secret Service did trust him with a loaded gun?

Former Mayor Ed Koch, the combative, acid-tongued politician who rescued the city from near-financial ruin during a three-term City Hall run in which he embodied New York chutzpah for the rest of the world, died Friday. He was 88.
New York City has had long line if colorful mayors. Koch certainly continued that tradition. The city unfortunately had very few competent mayors. Koch was an exception. Well done Ed.
