John Murtha, you said our military was broken.  You said we can’ t win militarily in Iraq .  You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof and said we should re-deploy to Okinawa.  Okinawa, John?  And the Democrats call you their military expert!  Are you sure you didn’t suffer a traumatic brain injury while you were off building your war hero resume?  You’re a sad, pitiable, corrupt and washed up politician.  You’re not a Marine, sir.  You wouldn’t amount to a good pimple on a real Marine’s ass.  You’re a phony and a disgrace.  Run away, John.

Dick Durbin, you accused our Soldiers at Guantanamo of being Nazis, tenders of Soviet style gulags and as bad as the regime of Pol Pot, who murdered two million of his own people after your party abandoned Southeast Asia to the Communists.  Now you want to abandon the Iraqis to the same fate.  History was not a good teacher for you, was it?  Lord help us!  See Dick run.

Ted Kennedy, for days on end you held poster-sized pictures from Abu Ghraib in front of any available television camera.  Al Jazeera quoted you saying that Iraqi’s torture chambers were open under new management.  Did you see the news, Teddy?  The Islamic Nazis demonstrated another beheading for you.  If you truly supported our troops, you’d show the world poster-sized pictures of that atrocity and demand the annihilation of it.  Your legislation, stripping support from the South Vietnamese led to a communist victory there.  You’re a bloated, drunken fool bent on repeating the same historical blunder that turned freedom-seeking people over to homicidal, genocidal maniacs.  To paraphrase John Murtha, all while sittig on your wide, gin-soaked rear-end in Washington .

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Carl Levine, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Russ Feingold, Hillary Clinton, Pat Leahy, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, the Hollywood Leftist morons, et al, ad nauseam: Every time you stand in front of television cameras and broadcast to the Islamic Nazis that we went to war because our President lied, that the war is wrong and our Soldiers are torturers, that we should leave Iraq, you give the Islamic butchers – the same ones that tortured and mutilated American Soldiers – cause to think that we’ll run away again, and all they have to do is hang on a little longer.  It is inevitable that we, the infidels, will have to defeat the Islamic jihadists. Better to do it now on their turf, than later on ours after they have gained both strength and momentum.

American news media, the New York Times particularly: Each time you publish stories about national defense secrets and our intelligence gathering methods, you become one united with the sub-human pieces of camel dung that torture and mutilate the bodies of American Soldiers.  You can’t strike up the courage to publish cartoons, but you can help Al Qaeda destroy my country.  Actually, you are more dangerous to us than Al Qaeda is.  Think about that each time you face Mecca to admire your Pulitzer.

You are America ‘s “AXIS OF IDIOTS.”  Your Collective Stupidity will destroy us.  Self-serving politics and terrorist-abetting news scoops are more important to you than our national security or the lives of innocent civilians and Soldiers.  It bothers you that defending ourselves gets in the way of your elitist sport of politics and your ignorant editorializing.  There is as much blood on your hands as is on the hands of murdering terrorists.  Don’t ever doubt that.  Your frolics will only serve to extend this war as they extended Vietnam .  If you want our Soldiers home as you claim, knock off the crap and try supporting your country ahead of supporting your silly political aims and aiding our enemies.

Yes, I’m questioning your patriotism.  Your loyalty ends with self.  I’m also questioning why you’re stealing air that decent Americans could be breathing.  You don’t deserve the protection of our men and women in uniform.  You need to run away from this war, this country.  Leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through and the country to people who are willing to defend it.

No, Mr.  President, you don ‘t get of f the hook, either.  Our country has two enemies: Those who want to destroy us from the outside and those who attempt it from within.  Your Soldiers are dealing with the outside force.  It’s your obligation to support them by confronting the AXIS OF IDIOTS.

America must hear it from you that these self-centered people are harming our country, abetting the enemy and endangering our safety.  Well up a little anger, please, and channel it toward the appropriate target.  You must prosecute those who leak national security secrets to the media.  You must prosecute those in the media who knowingly publish those secrets.

Our Soldiers need you to confront the enemy that they cannot.  They need you to do it now.

THERE’S BEEN a relative lull in news coverage and debate about Iraq in recent weeks — which is odd, because May could turn out to have been one of the most important months of the war. While Washington’s attention has been fixed elsewhere, military analysts have watched with astonishment as the Iraqi government and army have gained control for the first time of the port city of Basra and the sprawling Baghdad neighborhood of Sadr City, routing the Shiite militias that have ruled them for years and sending key militants scurrying to Iran. At the same time, Iraqi and U.S. forces have pushed forward with a long-promised offensive in Mosul, the last urban refuge of al-Qaeda. So many of its leaders have now been captured or killed that U.S. Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker, renowned for his cautious assessments, said that the terrorists have “never been closer to defeat than they are now.”

That’s from an outright astonishing piece, the usually in- the- bag- leftist Washington Times.

Iraq passed a turning point last fall when the U.S. counterinsurgency campaign launched in early 2007 produced a dramatic drop in violence and quelled the incipient sectarian war between Sunnis and Shiites. Now, another tipping point may be near, one that sees the Iraqi government and army restoring order in almost all of the country, dispersing both rival militias and the Iranian-trained “special groups” that have used them as cover to wage war against Americans. It is — of course — too early to celebrate; though now in disarray, the Mahdi Army of Moqtada al-Sadr could still regroup, and Iran will almost certainly seek to stir up new violence before the U.S. and Iraqi elections this fall. Still, the rapidly improving conditions should allow U.S. commanders to make some welcome adjustments — and it ought to mandate an already-overdue rethinking by the “this-war-is-lost” caucus in Washington, including Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

It seems to me that the Democrats… including Obama…  should be paying the price for so badly mishandling Iraq…  At what point do the Democrats come out and say… “You know, we were wrong, calling Iraq a failure’? Presumably, once they attain office, from the people they constantly lay blame for that failure… the failure that never happened.

Nor, I think, do they deserve leadership roles, now, being uniquely ill-suited to lead us in Iraq now… As the piece suggests, Obama… and by extension, the rest of the Democrats… have no plan for success… and I would add, have NEVER had one, being so damned busy chasing failure.

It is also interesting that WaPo clearly identifies in their piece, the source of Iraq’s unrest: Iran. Amazing. Just a few months ago, by the WaPo’s lights, the source of unrest there was George W. Bush.

But now we have two causes for excitement. That the WaPo clearly and correctly identifies the problem… Iran… and that the WaPo would even make mention of this whole thing, particularly the Democrat mishandling of the whole thing, so close to an election. Perhaps things are looking up more than we’d hoped? I mean, if WaPo is finally admitting it….

Here’s the deal, folks, Obama can separate himself from this clergyman, as well as he could Wright, but that doesn’t separate him from the problem, because Wight while most certainly at the center of the controversy the way the press pushed it a few months back,isn’t the real problem. This was never about Wright per se’, a point proved by Wright leaving and the place still going in the same racist direction.

Oh… and need I really point up that this Priest is listed among Obama‘s ‘spiritual advisors’?

Even absent Wright, this racist mentality is foundational to that church, that group of people. Including Obama, one may conclude. No, MUST conclude. The question was and now remains, how is it that Obama managed to sit in this church for 20 years, soaking up the racism, and subjecting his kids to it? Not only are we dealing with an issue of racism on the part of Obama, we’re dealing with a question of his honesty in this matter as well. How are we to accept that such comments were so rare that Obama never heard them, when every time someone opens their mouth in that slime pit, the same words tumble out?

Remember why Obama told us all about this church? Because he was trying to tell us”But I’m not a Muslim!”

He is now down to trying desperately to separate himself from the the image he’s been projecting.. that he’s solid member of this church…  part of a hateful racist group… one whose philosophy he holds in his own heart. The change of course is not because there was a large change in the church, but rather because the consequences of his professed membership.

Only one small problem; The issue of being a member of the place for 20 years, and much in the way of evidence that the hate spewing from both pulpit and people in that slime pit, are nothing new to the place.  Anyone with even the slightest idea what all this is about is left with the idea that there is no way.. No WAY… he could not have known it was going on…. and no way he was not deeply involved.  One simply does not sit in a pew for 20 years and soak up this stuff, and provide the place with large sums of their money, without signing onto the philosophy of the place. Religion, as I’ve said many times before is for believers, supposed to be the driver of your most deeply held values.  Remember also those vid snips of Wright and now Pfleger, and Moss… preaching their bigotry, also contained long shots of the congregation cheering their racism on, agreeing with it. No way Obama didn’t know. No way.

So, now we’re faced with a choice. We can either trust him when he says he didn’t know the place was a hateful, racist slime pit while he sat in those pews for 20 years, OR we can take his word for it when he says he’s a Christian.  Choose one.

In the case of the former, he’s a liar, whom I want nowhere near any seat of power, including the one he now holds. If the choice is the latter, we must assume he WAS paying attention, those 20 years, and DID in fact know about and agree with the racist attitudes we’ve seen in the place.

Either way, he’s revealed himself as an opportunistic liar of a level that Hillary Clinton couldn’t match. In the end, he’s not going to be able to escape, even by resigning, now. In fact, this resignation worsens his exposure.

Oh… one more thing. Note in the story, that the resignation is attributed to Wright, not to the second racism wave, personified in Pfleger. A rather thin cover, but effective in diverting attention away form the fact that Wright wasn’t the issue.

When Democrats took over the Congress, gas was slightly more than $2 per gallon, food costs were low and supplies were plentiful, the housing market was booming. Since then, our food and fuel are both double the price and in shortages, taxes are up,, housing is tight, as is credit.

Work the math, people. This ain’t rocket science.

Apparently, we will never know just how lucky we are that John Kerry didn’t make it to the White House. The Hill:

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) believes that on September 11 “we were basically at peace.”

Asked to clarify his remarks, specifically asking about the attacks on the U.S.S. Cole during Barack Obama campaign conference call, Kerry said, “well, we hadn’t declared war,” The Hill’s Sam Youngman reports.

Asked if al Qaeda was a threat at the time, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee said, “well yes, obviously they were a threat. But, fundamentally we were not at war at that point in time.”

Kerry also called John McCain “out of step with history and facts.”

By these lights, we weren’t at in December 1941 war until the Congress acted… and all those folks at Pearl who died, really didn’t matter since they were war deaths. Here’s yet another example of over-reliance on the letter of the law. In terms of legality he’s quite correct. In the real world the guy’s so far out of touch as to be laughable… until you consider the guy is a sitting Senator.

Only Monday, a British parliamentary committee proposed that every citizen be required to carry a carbon card that must be presented, under penalty of law, when buying gasoline, taking an airplane or using electricity. The card contains your yearly carbon ration to be drawn down with every purchase, every trip, every swipe.

There’s no greater social power than the power to ration. And, other than rationing food, there is no greater instrument of social control than rationing energy, the currency of just about everything one does and uses in an advanced society.

So what does the global warming agnostic propose as an alternative? First, more research — untainted and reliable — to determine (a) whether the carbon footprint of man is or is not lost among the massive natural forces (from sunspot activity to ocean currents) that affect climate, and (b) if the human effect is indeed significant, whether the planetary climate system has the homeostatic mechanisms (like the feedback loops in the human body, for example) with which to compensate.

Second, reduce our carbon footprint in the interim by doing the doable, rather than the economically ruinous and socially destructive. The most obvious step is a major move to nuclear power, which to the atmosphere is the cleanest of the clean.

But your would-be masters have foreseen this contingency. The Church of the Environment promulgates secondary dogmas as well. One of these is a strict nuclear taboo.

Rather convenient, is it not? Take this major coal-substituting fix off the table, and we will be rationing all the more. Guess who does the rationing.

Well, yes… that’s true. And apparently it’s an idea that it catching on among Democrats, here at home. Boortz, the other day:

Rep. Edward Markey, a Democrat from Massachusetts, is the chairman of the House global warming panel. Next week he is going to introduce a bill that would cut emissions by 85% from 2005 levels. This exceeds any reduction in bills currently before the Senate. Markey’s bill would cut emissions by 85% by 2050. He says that his bill would generate $8 trillion by auctioning off emissions allowances to polluters.

So .. what do we have here? An attempt to help our environment or a scheme to seize more wealth from American taxpayers? Yeah .. like that’s a hard one to figure out.

Under Markey’s scheme the government would collect money from businesses that pay for their emissions allowances. Then the government turns around and spends the money on new technologies like carbon capture and storage, retraining workers in “green-collar jobs” and helping people reduce their energy costs. “Helping people reduce costs” … is that supposed to indicate more entitlement programs for the poor, poor pitiful poor who, we are told, just can’t afford the costs of energy?

Cutting emissions seems like a laudable goal, but the fact is that Markey’s bill is a solution looking for a problem, given that in the EPA’s words

By virtually any measure, the air we breathe in the United States is cleaner today than at any time since we started monitoring air quality back in 1970.
….
In 2003, PM2.5 concentrations were the lowest they have been since nationwide monitoring began in 1999.

In 2003, concentrations of a related pollutant known as PM10 (10 micrometers) were the second lowest since nationwide monitoring began in 1988.

Significantly, we have seen the biggest improvements in regions with the worst air quality problems. Between 1999 and 2003, PM2.5 levels dropped 20 percent in the Southeast, 16 percent in southern California, and 9 percent in the industrial Midwest.

So what is the great need driving this effort then, if not the stated?

Looking around over the rim of my coffee mug this morning and noted Martin; McPhillips chatting about the McClellen thing again.

Yes, I noticed the business with toward the end of his tenure at the White House as well, Martin.

To be honest, I was always a little skeptical of the man, but always figured that he was doing a reasonably good job representing his boss, who, you understand, I also had some skepticism about. He was representing a centrist in W, after all, so how much can you expect of the man?

Your point about how well he handled David Gregory is well taken, but Gregory is so obviously a pusillanimous puss anyway that making him look like one was no great shakes, given that all one had to really do was turn the camera on him and let him do his thing. MSNBC proves that just about every night these days.

And of course, McClellan really had no understanding of the greater vision involved… you’re quite correct.

Then again, that’s one of the problems with centrist administrations… instead of getting people who really understand and believe in what the guy at the head of the ticket is doing, what you get instead, is process bound bureaucrats who really have no clue about “that vision thing”, past staying in power.

That’s precisely the type of individual you ended up with as staffers on Bush 41’s administration, too.  Nixon’s, as well, since he too was no conservative, but rather a centrist.  Such staffers are competent in their way, but with no idealistic direction that they’re going… No fire…no deeper understanding of policy, and the ideas and goals behind it. The one thing they do well is staying in power, via PR at least, as Nixon’s staff, shortly after the second term started, demonstrated rather clearly.  And, yes, that also includes center left, such as Bill Clinton.

In fairness, the constant election season that McClellan complains about was initiated by the Democrats. A public relations campaign had to be mounted in response. So, to some degree, the hand of the Republicans got forced, here.  I think what annoys the Democrats in Congress the most just now, is how very effective that PR campaign was.

If you want the truth, the reason I’m going quite so deeply into responding to your post just now, is because I’m finally beginning to understand just what it is that troubles me about John McCain, more than anything else; The man himself, is troubling enough in terms of his lack of conservatism, as we’ve discussed here many times. What troubles me more, however, is the type of staff that is invariably attached to such an individual.

For the record, I am forced to conclude just now that the type a staff that would be attracted to a John McCain, is far less threatening to our country, then would be the staff attracted to Barack Obama. Marxists, we don’t need, thank you. They certainly understand the larger vision of the top of the ticket, but their vision is one I’d rather not see the nation follow.

I do not, under any circumstances take seriously McClellan’s revelation of a Damascus Road incident surrounding Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame.  Sorry, I just don’t.  It seems to me that it too closely matches the liberal mantra to be anything but a product of the Soros finaced ghostwriters pen.  Which, I note with some dismay that McClellan’s book has been proven to be, as I remarked here last night.

I suspect and suppose that what we’re going to see here is that this thing will probably be blowing over very shortly, save for the congressional hearing, which stands about a 75/25 chance of showing up before November. Most likely the Democrats running Congress will arrange such a hearing to show up in late October, just for the timing effect. We’ll all get a reminder at that point. Talk about your October surprise.

The light in McClellen’s head has gone on, though, apparently, and he’s starting to understand the depth of how badly the Democrats have been using him. . Even now, McClellan seems to have backed off on some of what has been said.  He is now publicly stating that he does not believe that the administration is guilty of war crimes. That seems a rather revealing shift of tone. That kind of backing down, it strikes me is the hallmark of someone who has been manipulated into saying something he doesn’t really believe, but who also really doesn’t believe that the consequences are going to be very dire for him, and then finds out otherwise, and acts in desperation (and insufficiently) to cover his butt.

Another point to be made here, is the idea that we have not been told how much McClellan was paid for his work, or at least the use of his name by Mr. Soros & Co. I suspect it was something more than the 30 pieces of silver that James Carville referenced in a recent comment.

There is something to be said for the comparison I saw somewhere earlier today between this situation and David Brock, someone called it David Brock, version 2.0.  I think where the comparison falls down, however, is the degree of broken trust.  Certainly, when David Brock pulled his Andrew Sullivan parlor trick, there were a lot of hurt feelings.  But I suspect that that doesn’t hold a candle to the hurt feelings within the White House inner circle. I say that because simply put, I don’t see a whole bunch of evidence that David Brock, trampled on anybody’s trust the way McClellan did.

Don’t be overly shocked if we see McClellan being offered a position in the White House again, should the nation be stupid enough to elect Brarack Obama. Obama may well owe McClellen a lot for such a win. Which of course was always the purpose of the book, even if McClellan didn’t know that. Regardless, I suspect he knows it now… and doesn’t care much for the taste it leaves in his mouth.

  Chicago Sun-Times religion reporter Mike Thomas asked Cardinal Francis George’s office for a reaction, and his spokeswoman, Colleen Dolan said, ”The cardinal has made it clear to Father Pfleger in the past on more than one occasion that it’s inappropriate to speak about political issues from the pulpit and that his own personal opinions are his own personal opinions.”The campaign of presumptive GOP nominee Sen. John McCain declined comment.

  Pfleger is a longtime Obama friend and was in the audience at the National Press Club for that Wright press conference, and when we talked afterward, he realized Wright created a problem for Obama.

  I was told Pfleger’s comments stunned some in the Obama camp because they expected him to be more politically savvy — and not take on Clinton,especially at Trinity, of all places.

  Well, he’s just doing what comes naturally, after all… And playing to the crowd there is part of that. And, that’s crucial, here. I don’t have the link handy here, consider the crowd cheering and giving this bozo a standing O. Tell me again how such racism isn’t a part of the over-arching, and foundational philosophy in that church.  Which, it seems to me is exactly what attracts a slug like Pfleger.

• The CIA says AlQuieda is about done. thing is, in a race between Hillary Clinton and AlQuieda, in terms of sticking around once defeat is painfuly obvious to everyone else, I’d be hard pressed to choose.
• Look… lemme make this clear to you, Susan. Just move and shut up about it. And, if I may, a word of advice…. Just don’t alert the country you’re going to. If they’re smart, they’ll reject you.

• Speaking of Democrats and problems, they’re already short on cash, and are even considering  spending cutbacks.  Now why don’t Democrats ever think of that once they’re elected? Except cutting MILITARY spending of course….

Another Chicago minister is causing headaches for Barack Obama after he told the Democratic candidate’s church congregation Sunday that Hillary Clinton felt entitled to the presidency because she’s white.

Catholic pastor Michael Pfleger, who is white, issued a formal apology for his sermon Thursday after Obama put out a statement saying he was “deeply disappointed” by Pfleger’s remarks at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

“I regret the words I chose on Sunday. These words are inconsistent with Senator Obama’s life and message, and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them,” Pfleger said.

That was after a video of his sermon was posted on YouTube.

In it, Pfleger mocked Clinton for getting choked up on camera before the New Hampshire primary in January.

“When Hillary was crying … I really don’t believe it was put on. I really believe that she just always thought ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white. And this is mine’,” he said, shouting at times. “Then out of nowhere came, ‘Hey I’m Barack Obama’. And she said, ‘Oh damn! Where did you come from? I’m white! I’m entitled! There’s a black man stealing my show’!”

That’s Fox news.

The obvious parallels, here, make the whole affair sound like a broken record.

On that vid, we have the suppsoedly Catholic priest up front screaming and carrying on with his Black Liberation Theolgy, and the audience cheering him on, not offended, but rather encouraged by his sermon, and cheering him on. Gave him a standing ovation, too. Just like with Wright.

(As an aside, I was of the impression that there was a papal edict against such politicking from Priests. What happened there?)

Obama’s excuses, last time amounted to I didn’t know Wright was doing this stuff, and that the church isn’t wright, so replacing him will remove this problem, and Wright is Retiring, anyway.

Here’s the deal, folks, Obama can seperate himself from this clergyman, as well as he could Wright, but that doesn’t seperate him from the problem, because Wight while most certainly at the center of the controversy the way the press pushed it a few months back,isn’t the real problem. This was never about Wright per se’, a point proved by Wright leaving and the place still going in the same racist direction.

Oh… and need I really point up that this Prist is listed among Obama’s ‘spiritual advisors’?

Even absent Wright, this racist mentality is foundational to that church, that group of people. Including Obama, one may conclude. No, MUST conclude. The question was and now remains, how is it that Obama managed to sit in this church for 20 years, soaking up the racism, and subjecting his kids to it? Not only are we dealing with an issue of racism on the part of Obama, we’re dealing with a question of his honesty in this matter as well. How are we to accept that such comments were so rare that Obama never heard them, when every time someone opens their mouth in that slime pit, the same words tumble out?

Oh… and has anyone actually listened to Otis Moss, the new pastor, there? Let’s just say one listen, and you’ll understand on what Rock this Moss grew… and the rock isn’t Christ.
