Ummm….

Despite the odds and the obstacles, we push to move forward, that we are guided by what we see, that can be, unburdened by what has been. And I know everyone in this room understands this and has, in many ways, lived a life that illustrates this.

Vice president Kamala Harris at the NALEO 39th Annual Conference

If they do understand it, the only reason would be that they got into the same LSD that she did.

I tell you true, the biggest protection Joe Biden has against attacks that would take him out of office, is not the secret service, it’s not the bulletproof car he rides around in, instead, it’s who would replace him.

Even her staff has begun to figure this out. with 12 of them walking out, including her chief of staff. Even places like the New York Times and The Washington Post are asking serious questions about her qualifications.

If you’ll remember, both David and myself were raising questions about those qualifications two years ago.

I have often said that the main qualification, the main job for the vice president, is to make the top of the ticket look good. Granted, that Joe Biden at the top of the ticket, makes that a tall order, a task which nobody would be find complete success.

But, to the degree that she has been successful in this task is where she has been more of an embarrassing distraction from Joe’s senility than anything else.

Let’s say that the woman who was killed on January 6th by the Capitol Hill Police instead of being an unarmed white woman, was an unarmed black woman.

In that circumstance, would the response from the Democrats be different?

If your answer is yes, then you’ve swerved into something that deserves serious investigation, which given the Democrats are in charge will never happen

Fox is the only one spending any time reporting this particular aspect of this Indiana story:

At least four people, including the shooter, are dead and others are injured following a shooting at a shopping mall in the suburbs of Indianapolis, according to local reports.

And now, watch closely, children:

Greenwood Chief James Ison said “a good Samaritan with a handgun” at the scene killed the shooter.

The moral of the story?

The way to control a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

This endeth the lesson.

PS: Now, ask yourself, why are places like the Washington Post avoiding that aspect of this incident?

Just ponder that today. I’m sure something will come to you eventually.

I said this quite a while ago.

The thing is this; you can call yourself anything you want. The choice is yours. If you want to call yourself a fireman when you’re a quadriplegic, that’s your choice ….but you see, I too, I have a choice.

Under no circumstances am I required to share in that fantasy.

If you’re offended by that, that’s your problem, not mine.

Over at Substack, Matt Taibbi notices a trend:

As more and more effort is spent trying to put Donald Trump behind bars, he keeps growing politically. Is it time to wonder if there’s a connection?

Well, that’s certainly a good point. A parallel point would be the great tune -out, where the vast majority of Americans are not watching the mainstream media anymore, the large exception being Fox News of course which is running away with ratings.

This would also be consistent with the approval numbers of the Biden White House and the Democrat -run upper and lower houses of Congress. No matter how hard they try they can’t seem to get on top of public opinion. One reason might be that the Democrats calling on the American people to “lower their expectations”, was not well received. (Wow, what salesmanship!)

The Endless Prosecution not only failed to win Trump’s accusers the public’s loyalty, it apparently achieved the opposite, somehow swinging working-class and even nonwhite voters toward Republicans in what even Axios this week called a “seismic shift” in American politics.

Apparently, the old saying about how you draw the most flack when you’re directly over the target is playing loud in the ears of most Americans. I would say also that most Americans have caught onto the idea that the Democrats constant harangue against Trump is a cover for their own responsibility on the disaster that we’re currently living through.

Notice, please, Congress is all wrapped up in trying to bring down a popular president so that he can’t resurface but paying no attention at all to the suffering of the American people under their policies. The result is that the American people have in vast majority, been radicalized and United against the left.

And the point here is a prediction: the combination of these two points means only one thing…the Democrat bloodbath coming in November and in 2024 as well, is going to be beyond all expectations. And the Democrats have got nobody to blame but themselves.

The desperation we are seeing from Democrats at the moment is the direct result of their understanding that their time is limited, and power is slipping away from them.

I’m hearing from my sources in the that polling is telling the Senate GOP that they will be able to hang on to all of their current Senate seats.

Additionally, we will see pickups from Colorado, New Hampshire and Georgia, along with Arizona and Washington State. A pick up within Connecticut is also within reach.

Interesting article in the Washington Examiner this morning. Here’s a relevant piece of it:

The Democratic activist base and the media want bold, loud, concrete action. Whether that means abolishing the filibuster to codify Roe, adding additional Supreme Court justices, or even impeaching them, as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has called for, they want action. Failing that, Joe has to go. The media were always going to hold Biden accountable from the Left flank on the issues they care about, such as climate change and abortion. They see a tired, part-time president and sinking poll numbers, not to mention the terrifying possibility of a Ron DeSantis presidency or the return of Donald Trump, and have hit the panic button.

Let’s remember that the very reason that the left pressed the Supreme Court into Roe, was that there was no “bold, loud, concrete action” from either the executive branch or the legislative branch, that was going to be effective in bringing about Roe.

Just as clearly, given the historical presedent reestablished in Dobbs, there is no federal action that would be considered constitutional in the matter.

Action at the state level, while constitutionally possible from a federal Constitution point of view, is nearly as unlikely, for a lack of voter support. As I said here, such actions simply did not have the political support then, and does not now.

(As an aside, i point out that Biden voted against abortion when it came up in Congress, not out of any personal conviction, but because he knew it would cost him at the voting booth.)

The only way that the abortionists were going to win back in the day, overriding the will of the people, was through Court action …and then only when the legal precedent was made up out of whole cloth, which even Ruth Bader Ginsburg suggested would be it’s undoing.

And so now, the finger pointing has begun and the radical left is pointing at Biden…(when they’re not harassing Supreme Court Justices for doing their job… Interpreting the Constitution as written.)

However there’s two problems with blaming Biden. First of all the man is incapable of stringing a coherent sentence together, much less somebody capable of directing an effort to legislatively overcome Dobbs. Biden is a figurehead and nothing more. The real power lies with the staff underneath him. So it is that I pointed out a few weeks ago that the economic and social disaster that we are currently dealing with is not a result of the old fool in the White House implementing leftist policy badly. It is the result of leftist policy being implemented perfectly.

However, even that collection of leftists who is actually running the show nowadays is powerless to respond to Dobbs, just as they were back in 1973 …and for the same reason. They know the voter support isn’t there and that going out on a limb for this is going to hurt them at the polls.

If it can’t be run like a dictatorship, leftists have no clue how to deal with it. That’s never been more clear than in this situation. So, it’s a deer in the headlights situation.

Say what you will about Biden, but give him credit for understanding that bowing to the radical left on these matters is going to push the Democrat party right off the cliff with the voters, even Democrat voters.

Granted, they were headed for the cliff anyway, as the polls have been reporting for months now.

However, the extremists in the Democrat party seem to have a predilection for standing on the accelerator even when it’s clear that the outcome won’t be good.

First, a quote from somebody who was there when Roe dropped:

Or as Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood put it:

From these two points alone you can consider easily that the whole thing was about limiting minority populations. Keeping them in check. The use of eugenics, in short.

It’s been reasonably effective at the stated goal, to the point where Black women are five times more likely to have an abortion than white women.

And if you think the pro-abortion people aren’t racist, consider my earlier comments on the attacks being leveled on Justice Clarence Thomas. Racism is the only word to describe what he’s dealing with just now.

As an aside I would suggest that if black lives really mattered, they’d be burning down Planned Parenthood facilities, and not local businesses. Mind you, that’s not to be considered encouragement, simply pattern recognition.

Whatever else might be said about it the roots of the pro-abortion movement in this country are deep in the soil of racism… A quality which it has never been separated from.

So, the doj, understood exactly what was going on and let the Democrats spread lies for all this time.

The Department of Justice is well aware that the Proud Boys who attended the Stop the Steal rally on January 6 were not violent and did not conspire to enter the Capitol—yet are prosecuting them on conspiracy charges anyway, FBI documents obtained by Gateway Pundit reveal.

Five members of the group are currently in pre-trial detention on federal charges: Enrique Tarrio, Joseph Biggs, Ethan Nordean, Dominic Pezzola and Zachary Rehl.

Somehow I don’t think this is going to come up in the j6 show trial.

Just another example of why Bill Kristol is devoutly to be ignored:

Insufferable NeverTrumper Bill Kristol should know by now that putting dumb inflation hot takes on Twitter minutes before devastating economic news is released doesn’t return dividends.

Kristol tweeted at 8:00 a.m. a laundry list of predictions he claimed were “[s]traightforward from here.” One of his crystal ball items he mentioned was: “Inflation subsides.” That prediction only had a shelf life of about 30 minutes.

At which point, the news of the 9.1% inflation figure dropped… Highest in over 40 years.

This shows us two things : Kristol will invariably defend Democrats if he thinks it’s going to score points against Donald Trump. I do believe we can mark that one down as an object failure. Also, being establishment GOP, he has no clue as to what he’s talking about.

Oh, and as a bonus, News Busters has this one right… The man is completely insufferable. The only mystery surrounding him at this point is why anybody listens to anything he says.

there is no justification whatsoever for what the Democrats are doing to America.

I suggested it’s past time to disabuse ourselves of the idea that Democrats want a strong America and that they’re about helping American citizens. that has not been the case since the days of Woodrow Wilson. and probably have a before.

The pattern has always been with Democrats that whenever they’re about saving the planet the solution that they enforce on us makes us increasingly dependent on people that don’t like us. The saudis, the Russians with regards to diesel exhaust fluid, the Iranians, and of course the Chinese.

And, it should be noted, there is increasing evidence that a lot of Democrats are making serious money off of these supposed save the planet ideas.

First, you need to read here, and here, and here.

As I suggested day before yesterday, we need to compartmentalize the issues surrounding this case or we’re never going to get to the heart of the matter.

In the above we have discussed the constitutional matters, and at least part of the racial matters relating to this case.

We will return to the racial argument in another post but right now let’s discuss the political aspect of all of this.

For that, we begin with the will of the people:

Several things become clear in this poll.

First of all, the the numbers in this pool tell us that the majority of Americans do not consider abortion a right, whatever they might consider it. Rights, you see, cannot be regulated.

(As an aside, that’s a point I’ve made in 2A discussions.)

Secondly, the results of this poll would also seem to suggest that even a majority of Democrats don’t support abortion right up to the point of birth, the way the Democrat establishment has been demanding.

I’ve maintained for a long time that there is a disconnect between the Democrat establishment and the Democrat rank and file. This pool would seem to exemplify that disconnect. I suggest to you that that disconnect is going to be strongly reflected in the next several election cycles at least.

Thirdly, I’ve said many times that the very reason that leading Democrats pushed for a ruling from the Supreme Court on the matter, was because they knew there wasn’t nearly enough popular support for changing the Constitution to accommodate their wishes, and further they knew they weren’t going to be able to push it through the individual states, either. The political support simply wasn’t there. That’s why they pushed the Supreme Court into making a ruling in an area where the Supreme court, and indeed the entirety of the federal government has no jurisdiction. The numbers in the poll cited here, mean that there is no more support now than there was when Roe was handed down.

And no, this is not my final comment on the issue, I have several more posts in the pipeline. But these are all pieces to the puzzle and I’m breaking them up one at a time for the sake of clarity.

The always worthy Victor Davis Hanson;

Americans, almost uniquely among modern nations, mostly do not envy, much less despise the rich. But there is a certain sort of privilege that they do not like: the sanctimonious and hypercritical rich whose rhetoric is at odds with their own lifestyles and the methods by which they inherited or made vast sums. And they especially are turned off by those who exude open disdain for the clinger/deplorable/dregs class—to paraphrase the Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden nomenclature.

An especially grating habit of the left-wing wealthy is to lecture the middle class on their supposed illiberality. Often, those struggling are told they need to pay more for what White House economic advisor Brian Deese recently called the “liberal world order.”

Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, or George Soros, to take a few examples, are multibillionaires who live lives unlike any in the history of civilization. They also fund various agendas through multibillion-dollar foundations and their own personal riches.

Their causes are all deemed critical to the nation and planet, but unfortunately not fully appreciated as so vital by the peasant classes—whether they be global governance, massive restructuring of the economy to stop carbon releases, radical abortion on demand, or the sponsoring of critical legal theory prosecutors who feel crime is but a rich man’s construct.

What the doctor is talking about of course is the green agenda that I mentioned earlier today. It’s all the same thing.

The real problem of course is when such people have the power of government backing their agenda.
