She had never run for office and thus had no record for which she could be easily attacked. And her opponent, David Perdue, was a corporate executive who once said that he was proud of his record of outsourcing.
Yeah daughter of a democrat politician a plus. Having run a real business a minus. Sure.
In Arkansas, Mark Pryor, a two-term Senate incumbent whose father was also a senator, won just 39.5 percent of the vote — less than three points better than Mr. Obama. Arkansas was perhaps the Southern state that held on to its Democratic tradition the longest after the 1960s, but it is hard to detect any tradition left today. The state also voted overwhelmingly for a Republican governor.

We would be better served if no child or a politician ever again run for public office.

I very much doubt that Lena Dunham is aware of it, or if aware thinks anything wrong with it, but she in effect has accused her younger sister of being a whore,in that her sister accepted money and favors in exchange for sexual acts. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
The story is Lena Dunham’s. I’d think that the older Dunham would owe her sister an apology. The story, whether true or not, is that of the older Dunham sister. The editorial response to the Dunham story is in the public arena.

The allegations stem from passages in Dunham’s collection of personal essays, “Not That Kind of Girl,” in which she describes sexually experimenting with her younger sister as a child. In one essay, she describes bribing her sister with three pieces of candy to kiss her on the lips for five seconds. She also describes probing her 1-year-old sister’s vagina when she was 7 out of curiosity over how it compared to hers.
“One day, as I sat in our driveway in Long island playing blocks and buckets, my curiosity got the better of me. Grace was sitting up, babbling and smiling, and I leaned down between her legs and carefully spread open her vagina,” she writes in the book.
Kevin D. Williamson — known for taking hard-right positions that stir controversy — seized upon the passages in a column for conservative publication National Review.
Specifically, he accused Dunham’s parents of enabling “disturbing behavior that would be considered child abuse in many jurisdictions…sexual abuse, specifically, of her younger sister, Grace, the sort of thing that gets children taken away from nonmillionaire families without Andover pedigrees and Manhattanite social connections.”
Hint to CNN, when the source of the allegations is the same as the accused, it is a not an allegation but rather a confession. It appears that Lena Dunham was (is?) to stupid too understand the public reaction to what she wrote.

The woman with brain cancer who revived a national debate about physician-assisted suicide ended her life Saturday by swallowing lethal drugs made available under an Oregon law allowing terminally ill people to choose when to die. She would have been 30 on Nov. 19.
Maynard had been in the spotlight for about a month since publicizing that she and her husband, Dan Diaz, moved to Portland from Northern California so that she could take advantage of the Oregon law. She told journalists she planned to die Nov. 1, shortly after her husband’s birthday, but reserved the right to move the date forward or push it back.
it was Maynard’s right to end her life in a time and manner of her choosing. Sadly it was her choice to make her private medical issues into political theater.

Rob Bliss of Rob Bliss Creative makes viral videos for a living and decided to use his craft to shine a light on street harassment, a pervasive issue affecting females around the world. Partnering with actress Shoshana B. Roberts and Hollaback, a nonprofit movement launched by activists to end street harassment, Bliss packaged his production as a PSA and offers viewers a different perspective on the problem.
A chic walks around New York City, with a population in the millions, and gets what hundred so-called “cat calls” in ten hours. This meant to be an indictment all men. When in Rome, you play by the Roman’s rules. Walk the street and the rules of the street apply. Maybe, or maybe not, the twenty men in the video had read Shoshana Roberts and were tempted by her 34DD’s. Rather, maybe more men were put off by her chip on the shoulder attitude.
Roberts needs to remember that all cultures are equal and she should not be judgmental towards the indigenous cultures of her adopted hometown. Roberts seems to assume that all men and all women are cut from the same bolt of cloth.

Now… as to WHY they don’t vote… it is as I’ve been saying all along…
The polling from the last few cycles, tells the story…The vast majority of Americans come down to the right of anything either party has puked up since Reagan. Which in turn is why most Americans no longer vote, feeling there is nobody to vote FOR. “I’m not Team D” isn’t enough to get out the vote…. the people are smarter than that.
Yet, we elect Democrats. Why? Well, ignoring vote fraud, which is another topic altogether, the answer is simple… there are no conservatives to vote for. So, the majority don’t vote, not wanting to sign their name to either liberal, or liberal lite as represented by today’s GOP.
Those that still do vote come down in the area of the radical left, which explains both congress and Obama. Though I note with satisfaction some disenchantment there. The Democrats are publicly worried their GOTV efforts will fail this mid-term. They may be right, but its an open question who wins.
I say again, there is no winning elections for the GOP, as a rule, unless and until they start offering real conservatives to vote for. And its America that loses when the GOP fails to offer real conservatives on the ballot.
