Barack Obama has spent virtually his entire presidency claiming to have some magical knowledge about the health care law associated with his name. from Joseph Curl, Washington Times:
‘Is everybody wrong [about health care]?”
That, in three simple words, was the question a reporter asked President Obama last week.
“Yes, they are,” the president said with a straight face. “People will look back and they’ll be asking, ‘What was the argument about? Why is everybody fighting this so much?'”
Yet the more Obama talks about health care, the more apparent it becomes, that Obama is ignorant of the law. For example, Obama made endless promises with if you like your health care, you will be able to keep it. You can not. Does anybody smarter than Nancy Pelosi believe anything Obama says about health care?
Indeed it seems, about the only people who continue to support Obama Care are those who are exempt from it. Ending the exempt status of some of Obama Care supports seems to be Rand Paul’s way of ending political support for Obama Care, from Alex Pappas, Daily Caller:
With some in Congress arguing lawmakers and their staff should not get subsidies to cover their health insurance as President Obama’s health-care law goes into effect, the Republican senator from Kentucky [Rand Paul] told The Daily Caller on Sunday that he’s going to start pushing a constitutional amendment that goes even further.
Paul’s proposal — outlawing any special exemptions for government employees — would mean all federal workers would have to purchase health insurance on the new Obamacare exchanges instead of getting taxpayer-funded subsidies. Some critics say those subsidies amount to special treatment. The Obamacare health insurance exchange opens Oct 1.

Of course the problem with Senator Paul’s proposal, is that Obama has shown himself to be not to keen on actually following the law.

The Snark of the Day, from Brenda Zurita, American Thinker:
For a [democrat] party so certain that a right to privacy exists in the Constitution specifically for abortion, it is odd to learn that the government, through ObamaCare, seeks the “intensely personal” information patients share with doctors about their sexual practices. Of course, ObamaCare is going to use taxpayer funds to pay for abortions, so maybe they won’t ask abortion-related questions. But, apparently, all other sex-related topics will be fair game.
If you believe the ‘rats a woman has an absolute right of privacy with respect to killing her unborn son or daughter, but absolutely none with respect to naming who fathered her baby
President Obame, err Obama has high regard for his signature achievement, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a/k/a ACA, b/k/a Obama Care. One, Obame did not build the ACA. Rather the law was cobbled together by the staffs of Dirty Harry Reid and Mrs. Pelosi in secret in backrooms and voted on, and signed, sight unseen. Two, Obami is not paying for the ACA. Rather he has saddled the tax payers with the near two billion dollar bill. Three, no matter what lip service President Obame may give to the ACA, he has exempted himself and the flunkies who enacted the ACA irom the provisions of the act. So while Obame is willing to shove the ACA down the throat of the public, he himself will be exempt from.
So given that Barack Obama neither build, is paying for, or is subject to his name sake law, it is time for Obame to let go of his irrational vanity obsession, which he apparently supports only because his name is associated with it, from Seattle Times:
President Barack Obama is appealing to the public anew to pressure Congress to stop undermining his health care law through measures that would threaten a government shutdown or a default on the government’s debts.
In his Saturday radio and Internet address Obama makes it clear he would not accede to Republican efforts to defund the 2010 Affordable Care Act. Obama says, quote, “That’s not happening. And they know it’s not happening.”
The King may foist off his personal desire as if it were law. However we are a nation not of Kings, but rather of laws. AS a republic, if our laws can be said to owned by anybody, they can said to owned by the public, and the public does not support Obama Care. So Mr. President, admit you made a mistake, you trusted Dirty Harry and Mrs. Pelosi. Let you mistake go.

The Snark of the Day, from Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post:
More than half of those you see sleeping on grates have suffered mental illness. It’s a national scandal. It’s time we recalibrated the pendulum that today allows the mentally ill to die with their rights on — and, rarely but unforgivably, take a dozen innocents with them.
From MSN:
King of Beasts, Sir David Attenborough, has come out with a stern warning to humankind that unless we act against overpopulation, Mother Nature will do it for us. While acknowledging the many “sensitivities” around the issue of there simply being too many people, the British naturalist has formed the view that we’re “heading for disaster unless we do something,” and that famine is the simple consequence of “too many people for too little piece of land.” In an interview with the Telegraph, he also slammed our response to such crises. “We say, get the United Nations to send them bags of flour. That’s barmy,” he said. “And if we don’t do something, the natural world will do something.”
If Sir David honestly believes the World is over populated, he should do the right thing and simply kill himself. Otherwise he should simply shut-up.

Sarah Silverman is a racist bitch.
The National Rifle Association does not need to form a sister organization to arm black criminals. They are already quite well armed, with albeit illegal guns.
Reax , Colton Noir, Townhall:
“Are there white people who don’t want black people to own guns? Yes, and their names are Mayor Bloomberg and Dianne Feinstein…last I checked, the NRA advocated gun rights for everyone.”
More reax, video:
Liberals seem to think that by disarming the law abiding citizens, criminals will somehow become less inclined to kill people.

The Snark of the Day, from Scott Johnson, Powerllne:
[Vladamir] Putin has eaten Obama’s lunch. Now he wants to rub it in. He wants to let us know that he feels free to express his utter contempt for Obama. He’s taking his shirt off and baring his chest in a manner that is calculated to make an impression outside Russia.
Tis a shame, the Mrs Clinton misspelled her reset button.
Let freedom ring. Open carry has come to Mississippi, From AWR Hawkins, Breitbart:
While everyone was watching news in Colorado during the final weeks of the recalls, Mississippi was instituting a new law to allow the open carry of firearms without a concealed carry permit.
[…]
State representative Andy Gipson (R-Braxton) sponsored House Bill 2. He says the ability of law-abiding citizens to openly carry firearms for self-defense “confirms, in a very real sense, the right to keep and bear arms.”
Adding to this, Governor Bryant said House Bill 2 reaffirms the right to keep and bear arms not only as set forth in the Bill of Rights, but also in Mississippi’s constitution.
Meanwhile some where in New York, Michael Bloooberg has yet another reason to lose sleep. Oh happy day.

The Snark of the Day, from Maureen Down:
Now, when it is clear Obama can’t convince Congress, the American public, his own wife, the world, Liz Cheney or even Donald “Shock and Awe” Rumsfeld to bomb Syria — just a teensy-weensy bit — Pooty-Poot (as W. called him) rides, shirtless, to the rescue, offering him a face-saving way out?
Via Neo-Neocon.
Ah the wrath of a women scorned.
Did the freedom loathing, soon to be former mayor of New York City Micheal Bloomberg know who Victor Hood was? Well Bloomberg should now. Hood, an employed plumber, just beat Da Mayor and his deep pcckets, from Denver Post:
An epic national debate over gun rights in Colorado on Tuesday saw two Democratic state senators ousted for their support for stricter laws, a “ready, aim, fired” message intended to stop other politicians for pushing for firearms restrictions. Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron will be replaced in office with Republican candidates who petitioned onto the recall ballot.
Party insiders always said Giron’s race was the harder one. Although her district is heavily Democratic, Pueblo is a blue-collar union town. Morse’s district included Manitou Springs and a portion of Colorado Springs — and more liberals.
More on Hood, from Colorado Peak Politics, via John Lott:
Giron’s recall was spearheaded by a plumber from Pueblo named Victor Head. His group Pueblo Freedom and Rights and their 100% volunteer effort succeeded in gathering enough signatures to put the recall on the ballot, with a signature validity rate of 94%.
By comparison, the professional effort to get the billion dollar tax hike on November’s ballot cost over $750,000 and had a 54% validity rate. Victor’s group had virtually no money — even going so far as to spray paint their own yard signs to save money. They were outspent by the groups backed by billionaire Mayor Michael Bloomberg by 10 or 20 times.
But, in the end, Bloomberg’s billions weren’t any match for Victor Head’s voters.
Reax from Colorado Springs resident Michelle:
But the message has been sent and the bright red line has been drawn. Other Democratic state legislators across the country posing as “moderates” cannot carry water for the Bloomberg conglomerate and think they can escape without electoral consequences.
Warning to all politicians thinking about gutting our Second Amendment, call of Joe Biden’s speeches and Bloomberg money can not protect from the wrath of betrayed voters. Yesterday, we saw this applied to the Second Amendment. It may soon well apply to congresscritters tempted to support President “Present” ill-advised war on Syria.
First Dirty Harry Reid invokes the Hilter card, from Alexander ?Bolton, Hill:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) faces a daunting test of his relationships with Republicans, as Democratic defections could require 16 or more GOP votes to pass a Syria resolution in the chamber.
Reid pulled out the stops on the Senate floor Monday, where he compared gas attacks linked to Syrian President Bashar Assad to Adolf Hitler’s methodical extermination of Europe’s Jews.
The he tired to hide the cared, again from Bolton, Hill:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday delayed a vote on using military force against Syria.
Faced with stiffening opposition from Republicans and skepticism from many Democrats, Reid said he would not rush the vote to begin considering the controversial use-of-force resolution.
So does Dirty Harry think Bassar Assid is Hilter or not? Who knows? I for one do not care. ? Do you?:
Adolf Hilter killled some six million Jews. Done any sane person believed that had Hitler merely stopped usiong poison gass, that he would h ave some how stopped killing Jews with rope and bullets?
Maybe it is fitting that the Obama administration is lost at sea with respect to Syria, given their foreign policy is headed by former naval officer who falsely claimed to have piloted a Swift Boat into Cambodia. from Clarice Feldman, American Thinker:
Looking over the week’s crazy developments, I can see only one coherent strand in Obama’s foreign policy. He wants to make sure that John Kerry and Hillary Clinton will never be elected president. After sacrificing Hillary’s career on the blood-streaked walls of Benghazi he had Kerry appear before the Congress and take positions utterly at odds with those he’s taken all his life, supplied him with information disputed by other members of the administration, and had him make indefensible statements without any evidentiary support at all.
Now there is no evidence that Barack Obama is particularly smart. President Obama is not even smart enough to remember what he said when he wasa Senator, from Karen, Lonely Conservative:
Judge Jeanine Pirro began her show, Saturday evening echoing what so many of us have been thinking and saying about Obama’s credibility deficit on Syria due to his countless lies and scandals.
“Now you want the American people, after all they’ve been through, to take you at your word, and blindly follow you into another Middle East conflict?” She asked.
The public does not support Obama one man vendetta against BAssser Assad, becuase Obana has not made his case, and can not. The public will not trust Obama, because Obama has shown that he can be trusted.
I disagree with Eric that Obama has a plan. I don’t think Obama is smart enough to formulate a plan. Do you?
Polling shows the vast majority of the American people do not approve of any plans to attack Syria. But here it is… Obama would never have asserted the non-existent constitutional power to attack Syria absent congressional approval, if he didn’t plan on using it.
Indeed there is evidence that the administration is responsible for the gas attack he blames Assad for…. But even absent that evidence, what have we got? Obama in his usual klutzy way tries to arm rebels to rise against Assad regime which causes a civil war and then as a result of a civil war, lots of people die, Then Obama wants to intervene because lots of people are dying and blames the Assad regime…..
And look, Assad is no White Hat… but there are no such people in the region. Living in the hellish environment brought about by Islam, and its devotees, how can one survive, without becoming part of the hell? As I have said previously, Islam is still awaiting it’s Martin Luther.
The only people he has been able to get to support our attacking Syria is the same folks who flew planes into our buildings a few years back.
Forgive me, but all that is unimportant to the issue of why Obama is pushing this deadly nonsense just now.
The reason for Obama’s action now, after his apparent lack of attention to the issue, and despite all the other counter-indicators,is simple enough… he needs to divert attention from the long list of crimes (You might call them “scandals” but I won’t.) attached to this White House, and this President. He also needs to divert the attention of Congress away from defunding Obamacare, which is a real threat to him.
No matter how congress votes, this Syrian affair will not end well. If, as I suppose, they vote “no”, The dems will use it as a bludgeon against the GOP in the next few elections. But Obama will act.
“Wag the Dog”, writ large.
Maybe the House of Representatives can simply declare Australia to be part of Kenya and those make their new Prime Minister designate, Tony Abbottt, a natural born American citizen?
From Daniel Hannan, Telegraph:
Australians like their politicians blunt and pugilistic, and Abbott is certainly that. But his detractors often miss, or affect to miss, his wryness, his self-awareness, his humour. The purple, choking rage he provokes among Lefties has a lot to do with the fact that he is, in their eyes, a kind of class traitor: an intellectual who speaks demotically; a Rhodes Scholar with the common touch; an Australian Roman Catholic who inexcusably refuses to be either republican or Labour.
People of his sort are not supposed to win elections. Abbott believes in God, supports free speech, wants to crack down on illegal immigration and once called global warming “crap”. He opposes same-sex marriage, though in courteous and temperate language (his sister, who is gay, campaigned for him). He has no time for the notion, favoured by some Melbourne cleverdicks, that Australia is an Asian power: his country’s alliances with Britain, the United States and the other Anglophone democracies are central to his world-view
I like where Abbott stands, as does Purp, Ace of Spades:
Here’s the problem — Americans aren’t nearly as willing to call abject failure what it is as Aussies are. We’ve come to embrace the fail, perhaps even celebrate it to a degree. It takes Weiner class fail before Americans start to blanch a bit
Abbott opposes everything President Fifty Seven States supports. Australian came to her senses. Can we do the same?.
