At the ironically named Outside the Beltway, one Steven L Taylor finds  racism where there is scant evidence it exists but is blind to racism where in does in fact exist.    The  very brief history of the George Zimmerman shooting of Trayvon Martin and subsequent events goes like this .   An Hispanic shoots a black, most likely in self-defense.   The lame stream media falsely identifies Zimmerman as both racist and white.    Egged by provocateurs like Spike Lee and the Reverend Al Sharpton, blacks start attacking whites. from the confused Taylor:

This situation has caused something of a stir in some of the rightward reaches of the blogosphere, as they now have a case that appears, at least at first reporting, to be a racially motivated attack wherein the perpetrators were black and the victim white.

Indeed, apparently people such as Jim Treacher think that a very serious crime is really just a swell chance to attempt* to score very cheap political points:

We can find similar responses from Stacy McCain, Rick Moran, and Glenn Reynolds.

These are writers who found it offensive/problematic/etc. to suggest that race might have been a factor in the Martin-Zimmerman case but who now find it very useful to throw up race now. In the Martin case decades of racial tensions in the US, the entire “talk” phenomenon, and so forth is just crazy talk and worthy of derision and dismissal, but now that a white man has been beaten by black men, well now we can talk about race and we can also blame the media and such for causing this event.**

The so-called evidence which suggested the Zimmerman was racist, was manufactured  by the likes of NBC and ABC.

Martin was killed by an Hispanic.   Blacks start attacking whites, while chanting revenge for Trayvon.   It was the media which identified Zimmerman,  quite wrongly, as white.

To call Lilly Ledbetter just a dumb blond would be to unfairly disparage dumb blonds rom Lily Ledbetter,  CNN:

In other words, when a woman is paid less than a man for doing the same work, does the presumptive Republican nominee support her right to fight for the equal pay she’s guaranteed under the law? That’s exactly what the bill that bears my name ensures — it simply gives workers a fair shot to make their case in court.

It’s not a hypothetical question. Women get paid just 77 cents for every dollar a man gets. That means a woman would have had to work from January 1, 2011, until this Tuesday to match what men earned in 2011 alone

Ledbetter’s seventy-seven cents on the dollar is true, but simply not relevant.   Pay levels represent, among other things, education, skill levels, experience and danger.    Ledbetter’s statistic make utterly no effort to account for these differences.    Ledbetter might be able to cite some sex based pay disparity, but not seventy-seven cents,  from Wikiipedia:

In 2009 the median income of FTYR workers was $47,127 for men, compared to $36,278 for women. The female-to-male earnings ratio was 0.77, not statistically different from the 2008 ratio.[2] The female-to-male earnings ratio of 0.77 means that, in 2009, female FTYR workers earned 23% less than male FTYR workers. The statistic does not take into account differences in experience, skill, occupation, education or hours worked, as long as it qualifies as full-time work. However, in 2010, an economist testified to the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee that studies “always find that some portion of the wage gap is unexplained” even after controlling for measurable factors that are assumed to influence earnings. The unexplained portion of the wage gap is attributed to gender discrimination.[3]:80

If Ms Ledbetter wants to live on die on statistics, let her do a Lewinsky on this one  according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (PDF).  In 2010, 4,192 men were killed in work place accidents, versus 355 women.   More men don’t die on the job due some evil gender feminist conspiracy, but rather because men and women tend to do different jobs.   Which is also a reason their pay levels differ.

This is not say that Ms Ledbetter did not suffer some discrimination, or that sex based pay discrimination is purely a product of  Ledbetter’s rather demented imagination.   It is to say, that Ledbetter’s seventy-seven cents figure is bogus.

Barack Obama, Eric Holder et al wanted a race war.   Well now they have one, from WKGR News 5, Mobile, AL:

According to police, Owens fussed at some kids playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive about 8:30 Saturday night. They say the kids left and a group of adults returned, armed with everything but the kitchen sink.

Police tell News 5 the suspects used chairs, pipes and paint cans to beat Owens.

[…]

What Parker says happened next could make the fallout from the brutal beating even worse. As the attackers walked away, leaving Owen bleeding on the ground, Parker says one of them said “Now thats justice for Trayvon.” Trayvon Martin is the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed February 26 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Samford, Florida.

Police canvassed the area, but did not find any suspects. They’re asking anyone with information to call them at 251-208-7211, Crime Stoppers at 251-208-7000, or text a tip to 274637 and include the keyword CRIME 411.

Will Dim Won interrupt has busy golf schedule to comment?   Not bloody likely.

Wry note, from the Sharp Tack, Clarice Feldman, American Thinjker:

As Don Surber notes: “Sadly, the economy still slogs along with gun sales as the lone bright sport.” Aware that this is not the kind of record you win re-election on, Obama’s crack campaign staff has –with the aid of their media lapdogs– set up a series of diversions, each of which is exploding in Obama’s face like Wile E. Coyote’s Acme exploding cigars.

When the mob comes, you know the Eric Holder and Department of [In]Justice will be no where to be found.

I make two utterly fearless political predictions.   One, my next congressman will be a chick    New York Twenty-Five will either be represented by the current representative, the incumbent, eighty-two year old Louise Slaughter, or our current county executive the fifty-seven year old Maggie Brooks.  May the best girl win.

Two, if as expected Georgia Four stays democrat, their representative will be a an utter moon bat, either the incumbent Hank Johnson, or their old representative Cynthia McKinney.

There respective claims to the Moon Bat Hall of Fame,  first up, Johnson:

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.). Here’s clip of Johnson at this finest, when he was grilling Adm. Robert Willard about whether Guam might “capsize” if it grew too populated

Next, McKinney:

She’s arguably best known for striking a policeman in the Capitol building, although her 9/11 truther comments, call for investigation into the murder of Tupac Shakur, and support for Qaddafi’s bracing form of direct autocracy, among other issues, are no small potatoes either

Hat tip:   Nick Gillespie, Reason.

If Jim Treacher ever gets tired of making dog jokes, he can look to Georgia Four for inspiration.

I haven’t had this much fun ridiculing a dog-eating president since the last dog-eating president, who was… Hmm. Let me get back to you on that one. I guess everything Obama does is historic!

As for our moral, ethical, and intellectual superiors in the Democratic Party who don’t appreciate this one bit, here’s a question:

If you don’t want to talk about dogs, why did you bring up dogs?

South Plainfield,NJ== I started last night, to get a jump on several things, including a freak snowstorm currently screwing up traffic in western NY. I’ve started cleaning up my truck for the summer. It’s already starting to pay off. It’s already looking pretty good, though with the snow this week, I’ll have some catch up to do, I suppose.  It’s a lot of work…. but I consider it part of the job. First, because I like driving something that looks good, and secondly because DOT tends to look favorably on trucks that look like they’re well kept. Apparently they figure looks are not deceiving.

  • I note with interest that the Democrat war on women continues apace and fairly well unreported.  Save one source.
  • Obama Scandals: I’ve spent much of this morning listening to the hearings Darryl Issa is running on the GSA scandal. I find it interesting that so many that are directly implicated in the scandal are people who worked on the Obama transition team.  In other words, these were positions within the GSA that were granted on a political, not a functional basis.  And this of course would include Jeff Neely who was the region nine commissioner and acting administrator .  He’s currently on administrative leave, which means he still getting paid for not doing his job.

Jeff Neely, ex of the GSA

NEELY: Chairman, on the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my Fifth Amendment constitutional privilege.ISSSA: Mr. Neely, did you attend the 2010 Western Regional Conference in Las Vegas?

NEELY: Mr. Chairman, on the advice of my counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my Fifth Amendment constitutional privilege.

ISSSA: Mr. Neely, did you approve the funding for the 2010 Western Regional Conference?

NEELY: Mr. Chairman, on the advice of my counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my Fifth Amendment constitutional privilege.

ISSSA: Just a few more. Mr. Neely, what was the original budget for that conference?

NEELY: Mr. Chairman, on the advice of my counsel I respectfully decline to answer based upon my Fifth Amendment constitutional privilege.

The other people that Mr. Issa has brought up to testify, are all Obama a political appointees. Every Single one. The reason they were brought forward? Because they were directly responsible for the scandalous spending going on. of course the reactions of those GSA officials who are being removed from office and um…. well, fired are somewhat incredible.  They didn’t know taxpayers would be paying for those Las Vegas parties.

Cleanup has started already. Will look really good in a few weeks. The tanks are next.

Frankly, I wonder if it isn’t just a case of you surprised that anyone actually cared.  It does strike me, that we have an awful lot of people who are straining to afford generic brands cereal for breakfast and forking over tax dollars so these morons can enjoy $45.00 breakfasts.  Etc., etc..  That they wonder why the electorate is annoyed, that they wonder why government has lost the trust of the people, is about as damning a piece of evidence as one can find for how to the touch big government Democrats are.

  • More Obama Scandals: I’ve also been watching with interest the Obama scandal in Columbia. Apparently so too, has Mark Steyn:

    Mark Steyn

Britain’s Daily Mail, demonstrating a greater interest in the story than the court eunuchs of the Obamamedia, provides some pictures of the hotel accommodations these guys were enjoying while they “scouted security for the President’s visit”.We have a dependency culture from top to toe. Forty-five million Americans are on food stamps. The “public servants” manning the government that hands out the food stamps are themselves on Vegas hot-tub stamps, beach-resort stamps, Colombian hooker stamps, third-of-a-century retirement stamps…A few more years of this, and it won’t be necessary to go to Cartagena: it’ll be Latin America at home, too.

First of all, I refuse to believe that the only people involved here were Secret Service. Forgive me, but it doesn’t make a great deal of sense to me that the Secret Service wouldn’t be better at getting… well….  serviced in secret.  Seems to me this level of screwup requires Democrat involvement… Apparently, Chuck Grassley thinks the same.  Secondly and just as important,  Steyn’s comment is absolutely correct, of course, and Steyn has been brilliant through this. But notice were all this corruption is coming from; Obama and his supporters. People who have government jobs as a political payoff for supporting him in his first election. Obama has been trying to keep this contained , the reporting on these scandals, and has been sparing no effort to that end. But now let’s do a comparison, shall we? These transgressions are relatively innocuous. At least, as compared to, shall we say, Fast and Furious? If we have to work so hard at getting the truth on these smaller items, where no deaths occurred because of the malfeasance of the Obami, does anyone truly believe that we’re going to get to the bottom of Fast and Furious?

I’m going to point something else out to you. It was exactly this kind of malfeasance, and the lack of connection with the people that were being governed, that caused our original revolution. Ponder again, what I said Saturday:

Just ask yourself; why would a group of people who demonstrably are after all the power that they can get within our government to direct our lives and our fortunes, be interested in disarming us? Logic dictates that we surmise that they want to do that for the same reason that every other dictator in history as wanted to do that. Solidification of power.

And as I said then, the question is, what gets done about it?

  • Obama’s crushing healthcare policies: The doctors are starting to feel it… and more, they’re actually saying something.
  • Voter ID laws: And there’s a new surveyout that suggests that the vast majority of Americans believe that voter ID laws are necessary to stop voter fraud.  They also tend to believe, from what I’ve seen of other reports, and in conversation, that the Democrats believe voter fraud is their path to power.  Is there anyone who believes given the unpopularity of our current administration and its handling of our government and it’s infringement our rights, that they could win reelection absent voter fraud?Indeed, John McCain’s folks figured that they had evidence of voter fraud that cost them the election, and said nothing about it for fear of the civil unrest that would certainly ensue.

What we do know is this: First, that people in the McCain campaign thought they had evidence of election tampering that cost McCain the election. Second, that McCain thought it best for the country to do nothing about it, in part because of fears of mob violence.
America is coasting along a slippery surface, and small concessions to the mob can resonate in ways we can’t predict. In seven months, we have a chance to reverse the mistakes of 2008, even if only to stand up to the mob this time. . . .

If you are sitting on the couch on Election Day watching it on TV, if you are at work instead of not using available leave, if you aren’t inside the polls on Election Day to prevent the mess of 2008 from repeating, you aren’t doing enough. If not 2012, when?

The answer is …never. Ask the people now dealing with Hugo Chavez.

  • CAT coming back, but…. Yes, CAT is making a comeback. But let’s remember that it was too much government that got them into problems in the first place. The EPA, for example.
  • Rats Jumping Ship: There’s been a huge drop off of late in large donors to the Obama campaign.  Even some Democrats senators are starting to question whether not they’ll actually vote for Obama. Obama got himself booed in normally far leftist Boston the other day.  I’ve been saying right along, that this next election is going to come down to whether are not Obama acts stupidly enough to make Mitt Romney look good.  At the moment, that appears to be happening.  The question is whether not that momentum will continue between now and November.  Given everything else Obama has done has blown up in his face, it seems a reasonable bet.  Granted that the differences are only marginal between them, but frankly Mickey Mouse has more creds at this point.
  • Taxes: The Atlantic… who has never been shy about the promotion of big government, suggested the other day that “Taxes are what we pay in a civilized society”.  Which of course is demonstrably false…. Civilization predates government by centuries.  It does demonstrate the kind of thinking that we’re up against in today’s media.

Snark, the catty variety:

“You don’t believe a word you typed in this post.”

What does it even mean to “believe a word”?

I believe everything I wrote, in one way or another. You, the reader, are left to figure out what is expressed in the form of irony or sarcasm, etc.

It’s not easy reading here. This is a complex situation and I am challenging you to think complexly.

If you want straight ideological writing, you shouldn’t even be here.

Why do you read this blog? To bitch about the way it’s not straight-shooting ideological shit like you can get any number of other places? That translates, in my book, to a demand that I shut up.

You singled-minded guys don’t accept the fluid, multi-layered expression of a woman.

I’m supposed to step aside and let the conventional political writers write.

You are the enemy in the war on women.

I will not shut up.

I am woman. Hear me roar.

No, you can’t hear me roar.

It’s too complicated for your testosterone-washed mind.

Sad. but sadly far less than shocking, from Chicago Sun-Times:

Suspect: I Beat Up White Man Because I Am Mad About Trayvon Martin Case

Maywood, Ill. – Alton L. Hayes III, a west suburban man charged with a hate crime, told police he was so upset about the Trayvon Martin case in Florida that he beat up a white man early Tuesday.

Hayes and a 15-year-old Chicago boy walked up behind the 19-year-old man victim and pinned his arms to his side, police said. Hayes, 18, then picked up a large tree branch, pointed it at the man and said, “Empty your pockets, white boy.”

What say you merchants of hate, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, Eric Holder, Barack Obama and NBC News?    As loathsome as the so-called aforementioned black leadership is,  I generally impressed by the linked article’s comments.

I don’t seem to recall any whites claiming that they assaulted a black because they were upset over O. J. Simpson murdering two whites, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.    Then, I don’t recall any white trash attempting rile the crowd. or at least if they did, the lamers did not fix on them.

The truth is that Romney and Obama are both products of distinctively American subcultures–respectively, the Mormon church and the academic left. The difference is that whereas the Mormons, for more than a century, have aspired to join the American mainstream, the academic left is aggressively adversarial. It’s true that there is much about Mormonism that seems odd to people of other faiths. But a contest over whose opponent is weirder is one Obama cannot possibly win.

Perhaps you’ve never heard the name Jeremy Hoven.  It’s a name you should know. Hoven is… was… a pharmacist who thwarted an attempted armed robbery inside a southwestern Michigan Walgreens drug store where he was working by shooting his own gun… a gun he was carrying legally. Let me show you:

Hoven is now suing after being fired from his job, for violating a flat out nutzoid policy of “non-confrontation” policy…. which is tantamount to saying “please come and rob us”.  To say the least, Walgreens is guilty of  creating a criminal friendly environment. To say the truth, Walgreens is creating a more dangerous society for us all, and further is showing clearly they have no respect for our second amendment rights.

Walgreens is not alone in this, of course. The ironically named “Target” stores, too have similar policies. Bank of America, which received over 100 Billion dollars of taxpayer money in the form of a bailout, has apparently made the decision to terminate the account of the McMillan Group International due to their gun-manufacturing activities. Gather:

According to a story by PJMedia, this is the third time that the behemoth bank has “implemented a discriminatory policy against gun manufacturers,” and states that “McMillan rifle stocksare the standard for the Marine Corps’ favored M40A3 sniper rifle.” Their products are used by US forces and allies around the world.

In a statement from the McMillan Group posted on Facebook, Kelly D McMillan claims that Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, had scheduled a meeting with her for an “account analysis.” The McMillan Group has been banking with the bank for 12 years.

According to Kelly’s account, Fox proceeded to speak at length about the group’s gun manufacturing activities, when Kelly interrupted him, saying, “Can I possibly save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer what my business.” Fox responded with “That is correct.”

Kelly’s Facebook Post continues, “When I don’t agree with a business’ political position I can not in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.”

Well, good, but not enough I fear. Our national Gun Phobia appears to be driven by the left, who figures, for reasons unfathomable by most folks, that the government having guns is to “protect” us. Now, perhaps I should note that BOA is a huge part of the Obama machine. So, too, is Target. And Walgreens? Well…. do your own research.

And the question is, what gets done about it?

What ever Barack Obama may be, smart he is not. First, Obama, in all his not so infinite wisdom, nationalized the student loan business. Now Dim Won, b/k/a Obama, is moaning that student load recipients are stuck with just one lender, to wit the federal government, and must pay what ever price the government demands, from Detroit Feee Press:

President Obama kicked off a week of appeals to young voters today by urging Congress to maintain the interest rate on student loans, keeping the costs of college stable.

“If Congress doesn’t act, on July 1st interest rates on some student loans will double,” Obama said in his Saturday radio address. “Nearly seven-and-a-half million students will end up owing more on their loan payments.”

In a free market, consumer s of student loans could shop for their choice of lenders, and even change lenders, refinance, if their old one got too greedy.   Alas, Dumbo loathes free markets.

Rush Limbaugh has described [gender] feminism as affirmative action for ugly women    It does seem that gender feminists are perpetually angry and ugly.    Well the cows have a new target for their rage, toys.   Lego has introduced a feminized version of  Lego aimed for girls, from Joshua Rhett Miller, Fox News:

LEGOs for girls has feminist group in a twist

The new “Lego Friends” line rolled out in December features LadyFigs, curvier takeoffs on the traditional boxy figurines that live in a place called Heartlake City. Shown above is a set depicting “Stephanie’s Outdoor Bakery.” (LEGO.com)
A feminist group has identified the enemy, and it is … LEGOs?

The Danish company behind the interlocking plastic building blocks loved by children since 1949 has a meeting set for Friday with a Brooklyn group ticked off with LEGOs product line designed to appeal to girls.

The new “LEGO Friends” rolled out in December featuring LadyFigs, curvier takeoffs on the traditional boxy LEGO men. Construction sets include a hot tub, a splash pool, a beauty parlor, an outdoor bakery and a “cool convertible,” as well as an inventor’s workshop.

I suppose that Lego could placate the cows, somewhat, if they made the Miss Lego’s ugly, just like a gender feminists.

Hat tip and reax:  Karen, Lonely Conservative.

I would have loved having girly-girl LEGOs when I was a kid. But the feminists apparently don’t think today’s girls should have the choice.

Goes to show, liberals are only in favor of those particular choices of which they approve.

Barack Obama, or his ghost writer, wrote about eating dog seventeen years ago, in 1005.   Yet liberals were gleefully running with the Mitt Romney put his dog on the roof of the family car for months.  I assume based on talking points from the White House.  Now if Obama were a smart man, or had actually read the book “Dreams of My Father”  which bears his name as author, he would not have gone near the subject of the Romney family dog.

One inquiring mind, British of course, wants to know why the lams stream press was is so lame, from Tim Stanley, Telegraph(UK):

We all know the story of how Mitt Romney took his dog for a ride on top of his car. The Romneys were driving up to Canada for a family holiday, so they stored Seamus in a crate on the car roof. Understandably nervous, the poor pooch lost bowel control on the freeway and Mitt had to pull over and wash it all off with a hosepipe. Golly, I’ve written and read that story so many times I almost feel like I was there. You can buy t-shirts with slogans like “Mutts Against Mitt” and “Dogs Against Romney.” Whether Mitt wins this election or not, he’ll always be known as The Guy with a Dog on the Roof of his Car. Within fifty years “Romneyphobia” will become the technical term for a fear of low tunnels.

The saga of Seamus is one of a number of negative stories that have bedeviled the candidate throughout the race – heavily promoted by the White House. It’s often been used by the mainstream media to confirm his “weirdo factor” and the impression that he just “doesn’t get ordinary people.” Hands up: I’ve used it many times myself. But on Tuesday an equally bizarre story broke that deserves just as much airtime – and I don’t know why it has taken so long to get some. For while Romney may have terrified a dog into soiling itself, Barack Obama has gone one step further. He’s actually eaten one.

It appears  that liberals have little curiosity into anything beyond their talking points.

Did Obama even bother to proof read his ghost writer’s manuscript,  or did (does) he believe that American voters would find dog eating charming?

Gotta say this about Ted Nugent, love him or hate him, he hits  where he aims, unlike the now toe less, L Z Granderson.   Maybe the homosexual press just has very low standards?

Editor’s note: LZ Granderson, who writes a weekly column for CNN.com, was named journalist of the year by the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association and a 2011 Online Journalism Award finalist for commentary. He is a senior writer and columnist for ESPN the Magazine and ESPN.com. Follow him on Twitter: @locs_n_laughs.

Grand Rapids, Michigan (CNN) — Ted Nugent should be arrested.

Not because he doesn’t like Barack Obama but because he got up in front of a group of people and insinuated he would attempt to assassinate Obama if he’s re-elected. Or let’s put it this way: A man with a truckload of guns has threatened the life of our president while the country’s at war.

Grannderson is today’s winner of the Fearless Fosdick  Award, for shooting first, and asking questions later, from Noel Rothman,  Mediaite:

Ted Nugent, famous rock artist and firearm enthusiast, has been cleared by Secret Service following an interview. Fox News reports that the U.S. Secret Service anticipates “no further action.”

Nugent is somewhat of a  hot head, but being a hot head, is not yer a crime.   Fortunately for Granderson, neither is stupidity.

Note to Granderson, Nugent may, or may not, have a truck load of guns, but unlike the guns of Eric Holder, those of the ATf, Nugents guns have not killed a single person.  Leave Nugent free.  Lock up Holder.
