The words of a friend:

I began working for a magazine in May of 2005. In August that same year, I was on the road to Texas with stops along the way back in Little Rock and Nashville where I’d go into the magazine’s office for a staff meeting.

This was the weekend of Katrina.

The first landfall was Saturday, August 29. I left Little Rock Monday morning for Nashville. As I drove through Memphis, the storm was just crossing over I-40 headed north. The winds were hitting 80mph.

All along the way I was talking on and off with my good wife who was having very though time of it. She works for the North American Mission Board – the domestic missionary arm of the Southern Baptist Convention

She was manning the emergency call center for the division of the organization called Disaster Relief. She was taking calls from people who were waking up to the reality that 80% of the greater New Orleans area was under water.

These poor folks were saying stuff like, “I’m on my roof and can’t find my family.” and “I’m floating in my [flooded] attic with my my dead children. Please help me!”

I got to the magazine’s office about office just as the rest of the staff was pulling in. We were all sitting around stone faced as we discussed the gravity of the situation when in comes the publisher with a wry grin on his face, triumphantly declaring, “You know this is all the republican’s fault in New Orleans.”

All over the country, people from the Red Cross, NAMB, The Salvation Army and countless or groups were taking the same call as my wife reported. They were getting those calls as people were still dying and/or finding the true depth of their losses.

But this guy couldn’t wait to come in and tell the new team conservative that this was my fault. All he could focus on was the political win this would provide. I knew then he had no soul. How lasted eight years there is beyond me.

Tonight, as people were only just beginning to process the unimaginable heartbreak of losing tiny little children and their teachers, Joe Biden did the exact same thing when he addressed the nation. It took no time whatsoever to abandon any semblance of decency and fly into full on politics mode.

Can anyone please tell me where simple decency goes at times like this? Why can’t these people restrain their hedonistic hunger to land the political throat punch just long enough until the dead have been mourned?

What’s truly disgusting is, millions of people will herald his remarks of a great leader.

And just as a reminder they did the same thing with Buffalo. The leap to judgment, the leap to blame anyone with conservative American values for these occurrences is a well-established pattern.

The pattern is also established quite well enough to suggest that this incident in New York City yesterday won’t even be mentioned. No way to spend this off as anti black racism, no way to spend this as the perp being a supporter of President Donald Trump, so it’s a lock sure bet that the mainstream media won’t touch this story, and you can bet your cheeks on there being absolutely no mention whatsoever of the incident from the White House.

People, we are dealing with a group of individuals whose motto is now and always has been “never let a good crisis go to waste”. What we are seeing here is manipulation of current events to separate us, by people whose soul interest is to grow government.

Incidents like this only tend to get covered fully when it’s possible to spin the event to the advantage of the political left.

As an example, in the case of the Buffalo shooter, we got nearly 24 hours of screaming litany from the mainstream media and leftist advocates, about how the whole thing was Tucker Carlson’s fault, the shooter is a Fox News devotee, and a Donald Trump supporter, we found out that exactly the opposite was true when his manifesto hit the street.

We also found out that the authorities have known about the kid for a long time and did nothing. In other words government failed in its task.

It will be interesting to see if the motivations of the shooter down in Texas are similar, and if the authorities there were aware of the kid. In all honesty, that’s my suspicion.

Joe Biden said what he did for the simple reason that there was no way to spin the event to the left’s advantage, other than to blame the gun, and the “gun lobby”. That was the sole purpose in his commentary. Nancy Pelosi did the same.

Here it is, folks…They do not wait for the bodies to get cold before they start in with their diatribe, for the simple reason that if they waited for the facts to come in, chances are the facts will run afoul of the narrative.

The conclusion, then, to answer the author’s question is that decency is not in them. Merely a lust for power.

Sebastian Gorka:

Salvador Ramos was known to the authorities.

He had made deadly threats in the past.

And he wasn’t stopped by those who should have prevented his rampage.

Well, the federal government is awfully busy these days investigating parents who are trying to wrestle their children’s education away from the government, that prosecuting peaceful protesters in the nation’s capital.

Priorities, you know.

I’m going to make one additional prediction. Since it’s going to be difficult if not if possible to spin this as a case of white supremacy, this one’s going down the memory hole like so many of the others we’ve discussed here.

We will discuss this further, I’m sure.

Robert Stacy McCain, who by the way I haven’t quoted in a while, lays out the situation this way:

“Whatever the trial’s outcome in regard to Sussmann’s guilt or innocence, however, Durham’s prosecution has already shown in court that the claims about Alfa Bank were part of an effort to establish a ‘narrative’ (a word Sussmann himself used) of secret connections between Trump and Russia, and that Hillary herself approved the campaign’s plan to leak this to the media.”

So basically all Durham has been successful at doing is confirming what we already knew… That this was all the scheming and doing of the pig in the pant suit.

Of course, the role of the media in promoting the Trump-Russia “narrative” has been exhaustively demonstrated, but now that the damning truth about the whole sordid affair is a matter of sworn testimony in court, suddenly the media have lost interest. Tim Graham of the Media Research Center notes that the Washington Post (which breathlessly hyped the “collusion” fraud) buried its coverage of the Sussmann trial on Page A8, and didn’t mention the most important part — former campaign chairman Robby Mook’s confirmation of Hillary’s direct involvement — until the 25th paragraph of the story. And, as the MRC’s Curtis Houck observes, the evening news programs at ABC, NBC and CBS have completely ignored the Sussmann trial.

Of course they have and there’s two reasons for this, either one conclusive. To do the story justice they would be working counter to the narrative created by the parties whom they support. And just as obviously, expose themselves to the legal ramifications of that support.

And in all of this they are still shocked and amazed supposedly about how the American public doesn’t trust them anymore.

The thing is, an increasing number of Americans don’t trust the justice system either with this woman still walking around free. I have been saying for decades now that there is a double standard that has a political edge to it. If crimes are being committed Democrats tend to get a pass so long as it advances the agenda. There goes your proof.

Some things that occur to me…

# Johnny Depp probably could have used an Amber alert. But I suppose it should be said that she actually gave a crap.

# The far left that’s running our government these days just got through sending the Ukrainian government 40 billion dollars. These are the same people that told us just a couple of weeks ago that we could have solved world hunger with the $40 billion dollars that Elon Musk is spending on Twitter. Funny how quickly times change.

# Speaking of Musk, this saga of his with Twitter proves something I’ve said for quite a while. Being the least bit conservative is the hardest thing on the planet to do. Just think, if he was a liberal, forget Twitter… he could have purchased Congress for far less money.

# Several times a week these days I’m getting posts from various state trooper barracks, often complete with video explaining to we morons that the person they pulled over was doing 120 or 130 miles an hour on the freeway. They invariably go on to preach how dangerous that is. What they never seem to mention explicitly is how fast the trooper was going to catch this individual. Usually it’s faster. Much faster. Tell me again, who they’re protecting us from.

# Democrats used to tell us that if we elected Trump, the economy would crash and we have a third world war. They were only off by one president.

#Thanks to the government we have now, the worst is behind us…. And gaining ground quickly.

It’s amazing how quiet the chanting from the left has gotten since copies of the Buffalo shooters manifesto made the streets. At least, for the moment..

The usual suspects, the CNN’s, MSNBC, the Democrat Governor from New York Kathy Hochul, and the rest of the usual crowd, Schumer, Pelosi, Biden, the LA Times all of them …were making noises about how this is the result of Tucker Carlson, Fox news, and Free speech for that matter. They also spent a good deal of time labeling him a mental defective, and trying desperately to associate mental defect with having conservative values.

What they failed to mention of course was that the State mental health system knew about this character for about a year, and so did the FBI. And of course the government failed in its responsibility to deal with that situation before it got out of hand.

Then, as I noted yesterday, his manifesto dropped, (despite social media having locked that file down, somebody beat them to it) and suddenly the cacophony from the usual suspects died away so quickly that you could hear the echo. It turned out that while racist he may well have been, he was also certainly anti-Semitic, and he was solidly left-wing.

Of course by then a good deal of damage had been done which is precisely what they intended. And I will guarantee you that despite it being proven false, you will never see a retraction from those people much less an apology.

The pattern is crystal clear..Every time something like this comes up, it ends up being exactly the opposite of what the left tells us it is and in this I include the lame stream media. But they don’t bother admitting that till months after the fact. Think about it now, Russia gate, two impeachment attempts against Donald Trump with no fact backing them at all, Trayvon Martin, George Floyd, every time the Democrats try to attach themselves to something it ends up blowing up in their faces, once the fax start coming out. But every time there’s a rush to judgment before those facts come out.

Why would they do that? Because it works to their advantage.

And the tragedy in Buffalo was seen as one more of the same. Remember, friends, we are talking about a group of people whose motto is never let a good crisis go to waste.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul wasted no time using State taxpayer money to make what amounted to a campaign appearance in Buffalo yesterday. Did she say anything about the fact that if there was more than just the retired policeman working security in the place that was carrying a firearm that lives could have been saved? Of course not. She used the opportunity to blatantly lean on gun control. And you know she’s going to continue doing that. Again, never let a good crisis go to waste.

One really must Wonder if the government ignores such matters intentionally knowing that eventually they will be provided with political talking points. In truth, that’s probably a bit more complex than most Democrats have the brains to set up, but frankly they couldn’t have handled it any better if they were actually trying to do that.

And so 10 people are dead, and probably four more in the hospital.

If the Democrats have lost a talking point to the crime of somebody committing actual journalism, not to worry. At least the left-wing media has a squirrel to chase prior to the next election, and a good deal of historical examples that a number of voters will follow them on the squirrel chase.

Addendum

24/7 Wall Street reports:

Buffalo, New York, is among the U.S. cities with the highest homicide rates. There were a total of 61 murders reported in the city in 2020, or 24.0 for every 100,000 people — well above the national homicide rate of 6.5 murders per 100,000.

Even though homicide is the least common form of criminal violence — accounting for less than 2% of all violent crimes — places with high homicide rates also often have high overall violent crime rates, and Buffalo is no exception. There were 1,018 violent crimes reported for every 100,000 people in Buffalo in 2020, compared to 399 incidents per 100,000 nationwide.

Those crimes tend to go unnoticed at least by the mainstream media and by the politicians. But let some white kid with a screw loose show up to Buffalo and create what amounts to a normal weekend in Chicago, and suddenly it’s a crisis.

I’ve said for years in these spaces that problem solution is required proper problem identification. You’re simply not going to get that, the way this is being handled by both the leftist government running things at the moment, and their lap dogs in the press.

Let’s be clear about this…

Is this event a tragedy? Of course it is. Does that make the rest of what I suggest here less of a problem? Of course it doesn’t.

The only conclusion to draw is that these events are being manipulated and possibly created for political purposes.

“Created” may sound a little far-fetched to you… or maybe not given what we’ve seen over the last few years…. But think about it, every one of the mass shootings we’ve seen lately, the perp is a well-known issue to the authorities …state, local, and Federal.

I believe that’s a clue.

You won’t hear this on the mainstream media because it’s true. From the piece:

“But these leftists who jumped to blame Fox and Carlson did not bother to follow up on the facts in the case. A look at the accused killer’s extensive social media posts shows that he is not in any way conservative. Indeed, his manifesto did not mention Fox or Tucker at all.

In parts of the manifesto, he claimed he was an “authoritarian left-wing[er],” said he hated Christianity and also said he was interested in “green nationalism.”

Others also pointed out that the manifesto — to which Big Tech is now blocking access — had absolutely no ties to conservative thinking or Republican Party policies.”

You mean they tried to attribute the violence we saw in Buffalo yesterday to something that had nothing to do with the shooter’s motives?

No, it couldn’t be that the mainstream media has lied to us yet again. Couldn’t be that the long line of Democratic party leaders rushing to the microphones in Buffalo are simply trying to score political points for leftists, could it?

Yes, it could. And the fact of the matter is it’s usually that way. The bottom line is those deaths occurred yesterday because the shooter was supporting left-wing politics.

“An authoritarian left winger”.

“Green Matoonalism. ”

” Hates Christianity”.

His words, not mine.

That we have no shortage of Democrats is why we have shortages of everything else.

With party affiliations being roughly 50/50 in this country a 35% approval rating of Joe Biden means that a significant number of Democrats don’t like him either.

If the lamestream media is reporting a 35% approval rating for a democrat, it’s a luxury bet that the actual figure isn’t even that good.

I dare to suggest to you that government-run healthcare services lost the support of most people when they suggested that gathering together was okay in the middle of a pandemic if the object was to fight racism.

If that’s the reaction of Joe and Jane average to healthcare, what do you think the reaction is going to be to something far less important… Say, Netflix or Disney?

The Democrats draconian actions during the pandemic, particularly as regards schools is coming back to bite them.

So with their newly adopted kid, and the baby formula shortage created by Democrats, is Pete Buttigieg going to try to breastfeed the kid? Will this be the event that causes Democrats to figure out what a woman is?

I have said on this website for decades now, that the biggest possible motivation for voting Democrats out is the implementation of Democrat party policy. We are now living in the largest example of that truth that I can think of.

Eric Florack on May 14th, 2022

The White House new back in February that we were going to have shortages of baby formula. They didn’t care.

So in response to this shortage, Joe Biden points the finger at “greedy mothers”instead of pointing it at himself for creating the shortage of the first place.

Over regulation, over taxation, in other words, the usual Democrat party policies and the usual resulting disasters. One after another suppliers of this vital product went under, sold out. Then the government came in and closed it down the largest remaining supplier of baby formula supposedly for not keeping up with the governments idea of what sanitary is. So with all domestic supplies of baby formula being gone, what does Biden do? He starts opening up the pipelines from places like China.

First of all it’s going to take months for that supply chain to get moving. By the time that happens we’re going to have dead kids on our hands.

Of course dead kids are no problem for the party of unrestricted abortion, the party that made the argument that abortion was good for the economy.

What difference does it make when you kill them?

But just as importantly, China’s record on product safety and the product quality is not exactly the best. So you close down American baby formula suppliers supposedly for product safety reasons and then open up the pipelines to China who has a long record of product safety issues and dead children. Unless you’re financially infested in Chinese industry as the Biden family is, how does that make sense?

Let’s remember also the stockpiles of baby formula which our federal government run by the Democrats has placed on our Southern border to accommodate illegal aliens and their children.

It almost makes one want to look closely at where the Biden family has been investing in China aside from their dealings in lithium, doesn’t it?

The comparisons between what’s happening to us now and what happened to Venezuela when they tilted left, are frightening.

In a sane world, there would be no question that the Democrat party will not survive Joe Biden and the Democrat leadership. The red tsunami would eliminate the Democratic party from any contention for the next 150 years at the least. However one most Wonder whether Chinese voting machines of questionable programming I’m with a mainstream media all too willingly selling itself to the Democrats, a goodly amount of social media following suit, if voter anger will be enough to overcome all of that.

I’m telling you right now, folks, the upcoming election cycles need to be so overwhelmingly red as to overcome all the illegalities that the Democrats are doubtless going to be bringing the bear on this.

The Daily Mail’s got something up interesting this morning:

The bombing of Saddam Hussein’s chemical weapon arsenal could be to blame for tens of thousands of British and US soldiers being struck down with the mysterious Gulf War syndrome, scientists say.
This will probably come as something of a shock to the Democrats who’ve been saying for years now that Saddam Hussein didn’t have any chemical weapons, and it was all an excuse to go to war.

The article gets into some detail as regards the effect of the stuff and where it was located. Funny how they couldn’t find tell us about this back in 1991

Eric Florack on May 11th, 2022
First of all this is what I paid for a day’s worth of fuel this morning:

Now that’s about double the prices that we were paying before Biden got into office. Those added costs are getting passed on to the consumer. In other words, you and I.

And no, Vladimir Putin didn’t have a thing to do with the prices we’re paying. We are paying what we are paying for fuel because of Democrat policy;

Any questions, class?

Well, this is interesting;

Wrecked Russian fighter jets are being found with rudimentary GPS receivers “taped to the dashboards” in Ukraine because their inbuilt navigation systems are so bad, the UK’s defense secretary, Ben Wallace, said.
This is getting beyond absurd…

In his Monday speech, Wallace said Russian vehicles “are frequently found with 1980s paper maps of Ukraine in them” and that soldiers were using “pine logs as makeshift protection on logistical trucks” and attaching “overhead ‘cope cages’ to their tanks.

There are two points to be made here.

First, it’s obvious that the Russian military is not ready for prime time. It’s becoming obvious to observers that what Putin has at his disposal is an ill trained and ill-equipped military, to the point where Ukraine could have marched on Moscow and they wanted to. Essentially, Russia is facing the same problems today that they were facing in Afghanistan. In fact, the problems have from all appearances gotten worse than that.

One would have thought that Putin’s generals would have told him that. And even if they hadn’t it should be obvious to him by now that Russia isn’t going to get anywhere with these attacks.

Let’s assume for the moment that Putin did know the condition of his military before he gave the order to invade. Why would he have given the order when he did? The only answer to that is strategically speaking he knew that the United States was not a worry for the moment; the worst that he would receive from the Democrats would be a symbolic tongue-lashing, but nothing more consequential than that. And after watching this White House becoming screw up Central, he knew that he needed to move now because at the next election cycle we’d have somebody with some intelligence and some Stones back in the White House. All that forced his hand to attack when he did.

The other point to consider here is that Russia has repeatedly over the last 30 years been exposed as a toothless tiger… But never more so than the current example. When you consider that the Russian military is being held off by a ragtag bunch of ukrainians, the question becomes whether or not Russia would be able to defend its own turf much less turf that it’s supposedly taken over. I know of a number of high school football teams that could probably conquer more territory than the Russian military has in this case.

However, that can go one of two ways. He can either admit his current situation and back down, or he can get desperately stupid, or perhaps more correctly stupid because he’s desperate. If he does that there’s still the store of nuclear arms to consider. The thing is if nuclear weapons are in the same shape as his ground forces and his Air Force, his nuclear rockets are just as likely to land on Moscow as any place else. To be followed in short order by ours and that of about half a dozen other nations who have just about had enough.

All of this assumes of course that he remains in power which is also a question mark. The Democrats here in the States, are still firmly convinced that Hillary Clinton lost the election because of Putin’s interference, despite all evidence to the contrary. In short, they believe their own hype. There’s a goodly number of them wanting to depose Putin for that reason.

Indisputably, there’s a large number of variables here. That said and however this works out, I believe we can safely say that it’s not going to end well for Putin.

Eric Florack on May 11th, 2022

And more importantly why isn’t the FBI getting involved with this? Well, we know the answer to that question.

Supreme Court justices have faced harassment and intimidation after a pro-abortion group calling itself Ruth Sent Us posted a map to their homes. Justice Alito and his family, who wrote the draft opinion on abortion that had been leaked by leftists, have had to go into hiding at an undisclosed location.

Had conservative protests outside the homes of Sotomayor and Kagan led one of them to go into hiding, the FBI would already be on the case and the media would be calling it an insurrection and a threat to democracy, but it’s not political terrorism when leftists do it.

As to the first question…

Ruth Sent Us is meant to appear grassroots. In reality, it’s interlinked with a much larger network of leftist organizations. The site was registered by Sam Spiegel, the director of digital media at an anti-Trump PAC known as Unseat whose email contact is listed as Vigil for Democracy. Unseat and Vigil for Democracy also appear to share a post office box in Palo Alto, California. Vigil for Democracy, another anti-Trump group, had organized previous Supreme Court rallies. Ruth Sent Us promotes activism through something called Strike for Choice which its Twitter account describes as “one of the national strikes under the Vigil For Democracy umbrella.” Strike for Choice solicits donations to pay protesters, asking potential donors “would you commit to donating $58 [$7.25], $80 [$10] or $120 [$15] to support a person giving up paid work?” The protest fundraising is being conducted through Open Collective, a leftist financial sponsor, which had previously partnered with the Digital Infrastructure Fund backed by $605,000 from the Ford Foundation, $50,000 from leftist Persian billionaire Pierre Omidyar, and $100,000 from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.
You do really have to wonder if these people are even conscious of the idea that their actions are not unlike that of the Nazi party in 1933.

Go and read the whole thing. But keep in mind always as you read it, that as Greenfield himself says,

It’s not insurrection when leftists do it

Eric Florack on May 8th, 2022
With the amount of preparation required to mount the kind of response that the pro-abortion Democrats have mounted, there is little question in my mind that the response was a planned response.

That means whoever leaked this information was in concert with the Democrat party.

And in case anybody didn’t notice, 15 minutes after word got out about the existence of Justice Alito’s draft, barricades went up at the Supreme Court building.

Does anybody believe that those barricades went up for fear of those on the right attacking the Supreme court?

From what I understand of the way things work at the Supreme Court, we have a couple of choices. Either we’re dealing with the leak coming from Alito’s clerks, else we are dealing with the possibility of one of the pro abortion justices leaking it themselves. This would seem to point directly to Justice Sotomayor and or to Biden’s choice, Justice jackson. Frankly, I would be hard-pressed to even make a guess as to which one of these parties is responsible.

The investigation we are told is continuing and Justice Roberts particularly is determined to find out where this came from. Supposedly, anyway.

With the list of suspects so narrow, it will be interesting to see how quickly the culprit is unmasked.

That said however once they are unmasked, the question becomes is there any legal ramifications of this leak? What would be the consequences for it? Clearly, this is a crime against the court, the constitution, and the country. It seems to me that there are two separate questions here however. What are the consequences if a clerk is found to have been responsible, and what are the consequences if one of the justices is found responsible? Those are questions I haven’t even heard anybody ask, as yet. What is the procedure for removing somebody from the Supreme Court? With a clerk it’s a simple matter of jailing them for a set period of time. With the Supreme Court justice? Honestly, I have no idea of the answer to that question

Legal professors at Yale are saying that it wouldn’t surprise them very much to find out that one of the clerks of the graduated from there school was responsible. One professor saying that they seem to hold advocacy higher than the institutions. That’s probably true, and there needs to be serious consequences.

Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to secretly retrieve US made Stinger Missiles that the State Dept had supplied to Ansar al Sharia in Libya WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission.

Sec State Hillary Clinton had brokered the Libya deal through Ambassador Stevens and a Private Arms Dealer named Marc Turi, but some of the shoulder fired Stinger Missiles ended up in Afghanistan where they were used against our own military. On July 25th, 2012, a US Chinook helicopter was downed by one of them. Not destroyed only because the idiot Taliban didn’t arm the missile. The helicopter didn’t explode, but it had to land and an ordnance team recovered the missile’s serial number which led back to a cache of Stinger Missiles kept in Qatar by the CIA.

Obama and Hillary were in full panic mode, so Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to retrieve the rest of the Stinger Missiles. This was a “do-or-die” mission, which explains the Stand Down Orders given to multiple rescue teams during the siege of the US Embassy.

It was the State Dept, NOT the CIA, that supplied the Stinger Missiles to our sworn enemies because Gen. Petraeus at CIA would not approve supplying the deadly missiles due to their potential use against commercial aircraft. So then, Obama threw Gen. Petraeus under the bus when he refused to testify in support of Obama’s phony claim of a “spontaneous uprising caused by a YouTube video that insulted Muslims.”
Obama and Hillary committed TREASON!

THIS is what the investigation is all about, WHY she had a Private Server, (in order to delete the digital evidence), and WHY Obama, two weeks after the attack, told the UN that the attack was the result of the YouTube video, even though everyone KNEW it was not.

Furthermore, the Taliban knew that the administration had aided and abetted the enemy WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission, so they began pressuring (blackmailing) the Obama Administration to release five Taliban generals being held at Guantanamo.

Bowe Bergdahl was just a useful pawn used to cover the release of the Taliban generals. Everyone knew Bergdahl was a traitor but Obama used Bergdahl’s exchange for the five Taliban generals to cover that Obama was being coerced by the Taliban about the unauthorized Stinger Missile deal.

So we have a traitor as POTUS that is not only corrupt, but compromised, as well and a Sec of State that is a serial liar, who perjured herself multiple times at the Congressional Hearings on Benghazi. Perhaps this is why no military aircraft were called upon for help in Benghazi: (in fact they were given a stand down order)…because the administration knew that our enemies had Stinger Missiles, that if used to down those planes, would likely be traced back to the CIA cache in Qatar and then to the State Dept’s illegitimate arms deal in Libya.

The thoughts just keep coming.

+ I made mention of the fact the other day, that as soon as Justice Alito’s draft was leaked, presumably by a Democrat operative, that barricades were erected around the US Supreme Court building. Now, why do you suppose they did that?

Remember that the federal government is currently being run by the Democrat party. Does anyone truly believe that based on the news of Alito’s draft existing, that the place was going to be overrun by those to the right of center? No, I don’t think so either. It would appear that even the Democrats who are running things know from whence violence comes.

+ Charles Rose, one of the lawyers who worked in the Obama administration has made the point that Biden does not have the legal authority to cancel student debt. While that’s probably true, that was never the plan, anyway. The plan has always been to shift the burden to taxpayers. You know, the people who understood from the beginning that fine arts degrees and gender studies probably weren’t going to pay off and therefore didn’t take out the loans.

+ Over at Hot Air this morning, John Sexton makes note of a New York Times article which suggests that remote learning was a complete failure.

A failure-driven by Democrat party partisanship. I think we’ve discovered what happened to Captain obvious. He’s obviously an editor at the New York Times.
