Wannabe president Bernie Sanders is not willing to defend his own microphone. Is there any doubt that he would likewise refuse to defend our national borders. In contrast, Donald Trump believes in national borders. Jorge Ramos, a democrat operative, posing as Univision reporter, does not believe that the United States should have a national border. Trump showed Ramos how to treat a political operative who tries to hijack a press conference, video:

I quibble, Trump told Ramos to go back to Univision.  He should have asked him to go back to Mexico.

Well look at it this way. At least Ashley Madison had better web security than the Obamacare website. And probably cost about 2 billion less to create.

Eric Florack on August 25th, 2015

In the end, Ashley Madison is simply a modification of the age old dance of trying to avoid consequences under the illusion that it’s possible.

I will suggest among other things that there is much in the way of social legislation that operates on the same principle. That consequences for both one’s actions and attitudes can be avoided. What, in the end, is abortion after all, but precisely that? What is the universal Wage that the left has been trying to move us toward? The removal of the consequences of lack of training lack of effort , lack of ambition. What is the liberalisation of the divorce process but the attempt to remove the consequences of it? Those are just a few examples.

In the end, everything has a cost. And, this data breach is a reminder of that point.

Dean  Wormer Old Dominion University, has a problem.   Some person, or persons, who may or may not be male and who may or may not be students at Old Dominion University may have a sense of irony and let it their sense of humor get the better of them, from Fox News:

The national office of the Sigma Nu fraternity suspended all activities at its Old Dominion University chapter Monday as it opened an investigation into three sexually suggestive banners that were hung from the front porch of the group’s off-campus house over the weekend.

“The Fraternity condemns the derogatory and demeaning language used on the banners,” the fraternity’s executive director Brad Beacham said in a statement. “Such language has no place in our Fraternity or within any caring community, such as that of ODU.” Beacham vowed that any fraternity members deemed responsible for what he called the “reprehensible display” would be held accountable.

Dean Wormer could complain about this would be student coarsening the culture at ODU, is only ODU did not present the Vagina Monologues yearly:

The Vagina Monologues 2014

ODU VDAY 2014 is proud to present the annual benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” which celebrates women’s sexuality and strength through wit and grace. All proceeds raised will support VDAY’s Spotlight Campaign and our community partner, Response of the YWCA, to end violence against women and girls.

Dean Wormer gets all upset than an apparently heterosexual male(men) were trolling for willing heterosexual females.  Oh the same.  Yet the Vagina Monologues celebrates rape of minors, albeit, female predication of females below the age of consent.   So in the spirit of helpfulness, here are edit and politically correct versions of the bed sheets.

  • “Rowdy and fun hope your baby girl boy is ready for a good time…”
  • “Freshman daughter son drop off”, with an arrow pointing to the house’s front door
  • “Go ahead and drop off mom younger brother too…”

Dean Wormer, and Old Dominion are simply not in the position to lecture anybody on sexual morality.

Note, Social Justice Warriors believe that while women are strong enough to be Army Rangers, they to too delicate to handle a inept invitation for sex.  Go figure.

Clinton_Hillary_pretty_in_orangeEric wandered into the cesspool that is Mrs. Clinton.   I don’t suggest this is the total answer to Eric question, but is does illuminate Mrs. Clinton’s thought process, such as it is.   Part of Mrs. Clinton ignoring of security requirements was her need to keep her  pet snake Sidney “Sid Vicious” Blumenthal. On 19 May, Paul Mirengoff, wrote about a New York Slimes piece of Blumenthal, from Powerline:

The New York Times presents an account of Sidney Blumenthal’s memos to Hillary Clinton concerning Libya. For the benefit of our younger readers and those with short memories, I should say that during Bill Clinton’s presidency, Blumenthal was probably the slimiest of Team Clinton’s operatives, earning the nickname Sid Vicious.

For example, according to Christopher Hitchens, once Blumenthal’s good friend, vicious Sid spread defamatory stories about Monica Lewinsky. Hitchens swore in an affidavit that Blumenthal had told him this. Blumenthal denied both smearing Lewinsky and admitting it to Hitchens.

[…]

Blumenthal reprised his role as Clinton hatchet man during the 2008 campaign. Team Obama came to despise Blumenthal so much that President Obama barred Hillary Clinton from giving him a spot at the State Department.

Which brings us to 2011 and Libya. According to the New York Times account, a group of U.S. businessmen who hoped to do business in post-Qaddafi Libya retained Blumenthal. From all that appears, the Clintons’ hatchet man had zero experience with Libya or with the businesses the Americans hoped to establish there.

Plainly, Blumenthal was retained because of his connection to Secretary of State Clinton. The Times points out that the projects contemplated by the U.S. businessmen — creating hospitals and building schools — would have required State Department sign off (but they never got that far).

The Obama regimes barred Blumenthal, from Swampy Bottom, a/k/a the State Department. As Mrs. Clinton was not allowed to legally include Blumenthal in the security loop, she ignored inconvenient regulations and simply passed government secrets to her personal adviser.

Blumenthal was likely not the sole reason Mrs. Clinton created her home brewed internet system, but does illustrate her mindset, such as it is. To think, people used to call Mrs. Clinton, the Smartest Woman in the World. No more.

“Project Veritas does not comment on investigations, real or imagined.”

Source and reax: Jazz Shaw, Hot Air:

[Mrs.] Clinton’s staff is taking this seriously enough to go on record with Time Magazine and claim that James O’Keefe is stalking them and sending dark agents of intrigue into their midst.

Alternative title, James O’Keefe now living rent free inside Mrs. Clinton’s head.

People who act like they have something to hide, generally do. I am of the opinion that the Clinton Clan and the Clinton Global Initiative is one big criminal enterprise.

Me, elsewhere.
I wonder if the larger issue from Hillary Clinton’s perspective isn’t the day to day traffic that was on that server.

Understand me, the national security issues that this thing brings up are valid and those going after her for those violations are quite justified in doing so. And, correct.

In thinking this through though, I’m beginning to suspect that Hillary Clinton’s biggest fear was the majority of the traffic on that server, not the couple of handfuls that had national security data in them.

Deleting those files and making the rest of the server available for inspection, would have been the simpler course if the non security related messages were not also incriminating.

And I wonder if that’s not the real story here. I wonder if this isn’t a situation where a Clintons had a large number of underhanded dealings going on, misuse of governmental power, illicit funding for various purposes, etc.

Put more simply, it’s beginning to appear to me that Hillary Clintons larger fear was not the national security data on that server and what might have been accessible, but rather what else might have incriminate her.

Along with whoever else may have been implicated. And that may even be a larger issues at all of the above.

I am no doctor, but it appears that Jimmy Carter, the thirty-ninth President of the United States,. is dying of cancer.  He has my sympathy.   However that is where I draw the line.  Rex Nutting opines that Carter deserves our thanks, from Market Watch:

Jimmy Carter is our most unfairly reviled president since Herbert Hoover. He doesn’t deserve the rap he’s gotten as one of our worst presidents ever.

For many people (especially on the right), Carter is seen as a president whose weakness ruined the economy and whose appeasement destroyed America’s standing in the world./blockquote>

I decline to give thanks to the president who gave away the Panama Canal, brought the moo-lahs to power in Iran and whose fecklessness gave the Iran hostage crisis. If you want to put a good word in for Carter, give credit for his work with Habitat for Humanity.

I don’t like Donald Trump, but I do like how he makes the right enemies. La Donald has lost both the traitor and deserter votes:

Washington (CNN)A lawyer for Bowe Bergdahl, the returned American soldier whose military service in Afghanistan has come under criticism by Donald Trump, said Thursday that the real estate mogul’s remarks are “contemptible and un-American.”

[…]

“Mr. Trump must stop vilifying this young man, who suffered five years of brutal captivity at the hands of the Taliban and deserves to be judged on the basis of evidence rather than slander from someone who has never worn our country’s uniform,” Fidell wrote.

It take gall to defend a traitor and deserter, by calling his critic un-American.   Bergdahl walked off his post and deserted to the enemy I believe we lost six American Fighting Men in the attempt to rescue him. Bergdahl should be treated like the deserter that he is, to wit executed by firing squad.

I interrupt our normal political blogging to make a fashion statement. Mrs. Clinton looks good in orange, video:

John Forbes Kerry has achieved his wet dream.  In the midst of the Viet:nam War, Kerry tried to negotiate, on behalf of the North Vietnamese, a United States surrendered.   Now at long last Lurch has achieved his dream.    The Obama regime agreement with Iran amounts to surrender.   Rather than having United States, or United Nations experts inspect Iran suspected nuclear facilities, Iran will conduct their own self-inspections, and Obama, Kerry, us and the world will simply take Iran’s word for it:

VIENNA (AP) — Iran will be allowed to use its own inspectors to investigate a site it has been accused of using to develop nuclear arms, operating under a secret agreement with the U.N. agency that normally carries out such work, according to a document seen by The Associated Press.

The revelation on Wednesday newly riled Republican lawmakers in the U.S. who have been severely critical of a broader agreement to limit Iran’s future nuclear programs, signed by the Obama administration, Iran and five world powers in July. Those critics have complained that the wider deal is unwisely built on trust of the Iranians, while the administration has insisted it depends on reliable inspections.

Hat tip:  Amy Miller, Legal Insurrection.

Ronald Reagan, an old B grade movie actor , was fond of saying: “Trust but verify.” The Obama and Kerry regime just says: “Don’t verify, just trust.”

The Obama regime has prosecuted and imprisoned people for mishandling a single classified document.   Mrs. Clinton has been confirmed to have mishandled sixty classified documents, and the count continues to grow,  from Fox News:

The number of Hillary Clinton emails flagged for potentially classified content has grown to more than 300, Fox News has learned — with the potential to grow even more as officials scramble to screen the documents.

The State Department revealed the updated count in a federal court filing, which pertained to Clinton emails sent to other agencies for review. An official familiar with the investigation confirmed to Fox News that, as referenced in that filing, the department has recommended 305 of Clinton’s emails be sent to various agencies for review to see whether they contain classified information.

The number could continue to rise as officials comb through more documents; the past three State Department releases have contained a total of 63 classified emails to date.

People have gone to jail for much less mishandling to classified information  The question for democrat voters is can you trust Mrs Clinton with the presidency?

It is rumored that the Intelligence Community has a secret contingency plan to label all classified communication as “yoga routines” to insure Mrs. Clinton will protect them.

Given the Ferguson woeful unwillingness to protect private property last year, I don’t blame citizens for doing the job the local police have been unwilling to do, from NBC News:

Heavily-armed members of a controversial right-wing “patriot” group added an extra dose of unease to protests in Ferguson, Missouri, early Tuesday.

The Oath Keepers organization says its members — all former military, police and first responders — pledge to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

However, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar described their presence as “both unnecessary and inflammatory.”

Protesters and police confirmed that a handful of Oath Keepers with what appeared to be assault rifles, bulletproof vest and camouflage gear were seen early Tuesday on the streets of Ferguson, which was under a state of emergency following demonstrations pegged to the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death.

Point of order, what NBC News calls “assault rifles” were likely just ugly varmint rifles. Assault rifles are machine guns, illegal for citizen to own.

If you owned a business in Ferguson, who would rather see outside your door, an imported rent a thug protesting the death a local thug, to wit the late Micheal Brown; the Ferguson Police, willing to turn a blind eye to mob violence, or an Oath Keeper?
