College Point, Queens, NY–  This one is a regular stop for me. Dropping a load off here, heading to MOuntain Top, PA then to Buffalo, NY and then home early Saturday morning. Alex went home after the thrid day. Sad, he missed out on NYC the very next day.

  The truth of the matter, in both cases. It’s these kind of comments that got so many so fired about about his candidacy last cycle. Reaganesque, with a little more bite.  That’s the kind of in-your-face conservatism that we need at the top of the ticket. And I see few willing to do it that way. Anyone who does, however, wins. It’s really that simple.

  Just so. And the corporate jet thing…. didn’t Obama slip somehting into Pokulus for compaines that MAKE corporate jets, and tax breaks for those that USE them? Yes, he did. It’s this kind of thing that shows desperation in Obama and company.

• WHAT PASSES FOR THOUGHT AT HARVARD: July 4th parades are right wing.  Can you beat it? Well, look, we can take some lessons, here. Anything that is of the American culture… anything that supports a traditional american POV,  is right wing. Remember how Obama spoke of “Change”? Think about it.
• DID ANYONE DOUBT THIS WOULD HAPPEN? Before we go too far with this Straus-Kahn thing, let’s review. Got it? Let’s also recall this woman isn’t the only one. So why suddenly is the meme shifting?  I smell a fish.

Halperin’s remark is all the more regrettable in that it distracts from Obama’s comment, which was as false as it was offensive.

I mean it not like Halperin should have been suspended for calling Dumbo, b/k/a Barack Obama a dick.    After all,  a dick serves two very good and useful functions, both of the pleasure.   Dumbo serves on one use function, being used for sport.

  Yes, that Anthony Weiner, who was until recently the point person making these charges. The existence of this assault is clear, and was continued this week by the New York Times advancing another empty charge against Justice Thomas. This is a very dangerous maneuver. Just as the personal attacks on Republican judicial nominees discourage many qualified persons from accepting nominations and have resulted in a downward spiral of tit-for-tat personal attacks on Democratic nominees, this sustained “ethics” attack on conservative justices will eventually lead to similar attacks on the liberals. No one is so virtuous as to be above false attacks. This campaign will also serve to undermine the bite of genuine ethical lapses, which will inevitably get lost amid the noise of manufactured pseudoscandals.

  There’s this, also; the left has been in my view over dependent on the Supreme Court since the days of FDR, since the court is invariably stacked with a percentage of liberals that far outweighs the percentage of liberals in the general society.  Does impugning the honor of supreme court justices, make ineffective the tool that they have been so dependent on all these decades?I tend to think it does.  And that said they do seem committed to this course of action.

• FLIGHT TO HELL NOW DEPARTING FROM THE LEFT GATE: Tell me again how the TSA is going it’s job when it starts inspecting diapers of 95 year-olds. And yes, I know it’s within their procedures… and tha’s the point. Guess what isn’t in their procedures? Looking closely at anyone who might actually be smuggling explosives on  a plane. And I don’t think it’ll be that good. as I’ve told you, the unemployment levels are already the lower than they were during the Carter years, and that gave President Reagan a massive boost in pre- election polls.  Obama is going to have to work like crazy to get up to where Carter was.  Being the true socialist believer that he is, I don’t believe he has it in him to work in the proper direction.

But why then does multimillionaire John Kerry go to great lengths to avoid taxes on his yacht (why a luxury yacht when so many have so little?); why are redistributive overseers like Timothy Geithner, Eric Holder, Tom Daschle, Charles Rangel, and Hilda Solis either late or delinquent in paying the federal, state, or local governments what they owe? Were not high taxes on the upper incomes like themselves the point of it all? Should not they pay all they can to ensure that their brethren receive needed entitlements? I thought Bono would lead an international effort of multimillionaire rock stars to relocate to socialist states like Ireland or Greece, so that they might gladly pay 75% of their incomes (which at “some point” they had enough of) to help others closer to home. Why instead is he fleeing to low-tax nations? Did not such socialists have enough money by now without undermining the socialist state?

The Democrats only want children going to public schools, which employ public teachers, with public dollars, little accountability, and shoddy results.

Republicans believe parents should be able to choose where their child goes to school. Instead of the government giving the public school $8,000 per child, let’s give that money to the parents to use at the school of their choice. “NO!”  says the Democrat, who realizes that after 30-years of liberal dominance in education, their meal ticket is coming to an end.

Cut wasteful spending? Use technology to improve education? Use online supplements? Performance-based merit pay increases? “HELL NO,” say the Democrats, in the form of powerful teachers unions.

Republicans believe in returning control of school districts to the state, county, and local levels – rather than a one-size-fits-all plan from the federal government. “NO WAY,” say the union-backed Democrats.

As I see it, you can either support public employee teachers unions or quality education.  Democrats claim to support both.

• TAXES: The NY TIMES is complaining thes morning about Cantor and other Republicans backing away from the budget talks:
  

  It has been obvious all along that cutting government services alone is not a solution to either the budget deficit or the mounting national debt. The Democrats, at least, acknowledged that reality at the bargaining table by saying that along with the cuts the Republicans cherish, there would have to be increases in revenue — an end to unnecessary tax loopholes for corporations or the rich.

  Those demands were modest — too modest — and Vice President Joseph Biden Jr., who is leading the talks, said they were making progress. But any compromise at all proved too much for the Republicans.

  Mr. Cantor said that because he and the House would not support a tax increase, he was walking out of the talks until President Obama “resolved” the tax issue himself with House Speaker John Boehner. In other words, Mr. Cantor and Mr. Kyl preferred striking a Tea Party pose to the hard work of reaching a deal.

  Good.
  You see, there was an election, just recently… one the Democrats… and in this I include the NY Times, wherein we learned the American voters want the tax and spend nonsense to stop.

  And compromise? After nearly a half Century of Democrat party “cram it down their throat” governance, to now hear them complain that the GOP is being obstructionist and unfair is highly absurd at least, and in trith an outright lie… one I’m not shocked at all to see the forever left-leaning Times playing party to.

The creator of this video noticed that in the span of 40 seconds, Obama managed to refer to himself 6 times, but was unable to remember the name of the living  soldier to whom he gave the medal.
