STFU Arlen,from Andy Barr, Politico:
As voters considered his fate throughout Pennsylvania, Sen. Arlen Specter warned on Tuesday that without him Democrats may not be able to fend off a tea party “takeover.”
We, the American people, can get along without you very well.
STFU President Felipe Calderon. you are a quest in my country. Quests do not come to my country, my house and then trash my country, video:

Memo to BO, no self respecting American born President would stand by while his country was trashed by an invited quest.
Will Los Mayor leave Los Angeles in the dark? How smart is Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa? His city gets one quarter of her power from Arizona. Pigs on the teat do not boycott their mother. Is Villaraigosa smerter than a pig? Film at Eleven, from Judson Berger, FOX News:
A member of Arizona’s top government utilities agency threw down the gauntlet in a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, threatening to cut off the city’s power supply as retribution for the city’s boycott of Arizona.
If Los Angeles wants to boycott Arizona, it had better get used to reading by candlelight.
That’s the message from a member of Arizona’s top government utilities agency, who threw down the gauntlet Tuesday in a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa by threatening to cut off the city’s power supply as retribution

Who knew the male mind could be so devious? From Useless Toady:
In the study, the researchers report that when ovulating female antelopes appear ready to leave, male antelopes make alarm cries identical to ones they make when lions are near. The males look in the direction the females appear headed as they make the cries, triggering them to falter and step back.
All my luck. I finally find a devious male mind, and it is in an Antelope.

Welcome, one and all to the most intense nightly read anywhere in Blogdom: The BitsBlog Nightly Ramble
- THERE IS A COST To be paid for the disorganized and totally ineffectual way the White House has been dealing with Iran.
- IF IT’S LIMITED SPEECH, HOW IS IT FREE? Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air looks at the attempts to limit free speech by Congress. Initially, he labels the attempt sloppy. Trouble is, I don’t think it’s sloppy it all. I think you use intended to do precisely what it will do; protect leftists in power. Says Ed:
This isn’t about “good government” or clean elections. It’s an attempt by Congress to step around the First Amendment and regulate political speech that threatens incumbents, just as McCain-Feingold attempted
Precisely. And that is one major reason why John McCain is not present at the moment. I understand full well that with writes comes responsibility. Unfortunately, an irresponsible body such as our Federal government is totally incapable and totally unsuited for enforcing responsibility. Past that, it’s going to come down to precisely what Ed says. As is intended.
- PUSHBACK AND IT’S MEASURE: The Pennsylvania twelve district, (that’s the one that was held by all around slime ball Jack Murtha ) had some interesting results in the special election held last evening. Frankly, after all the corruption that Murtha brought to the table, and still getting reelected time after time, anybody even remotely honest had no chance whatsoever in that district. And yes I mean precisely that. That said, that it came as close as it did strikes me as interesting going forward. There’s no doubt that the GOP has mishandled both this race and New York 23. That’s particularly true given the similarity of outcome. I suggest here that the real message is that the GOP leadership still doesn’t get the message. Let’s face it. If the candidate being offered is approved of by the GOP leadership, they’re still going to be a proponent of big government. There is no better indication of that, then the huge defeat for senator Arlen Specter also of Pennsylvania. You may remember that Specter is someone the GOP leadership approved of. Ponder the implications of that for a moment. Even the New York Times sees this.
- IMMIGRATION:If you want another sign of the times, ponder why the Mexican president would be preaching against the immigration laws currently enacted in Arizona . (we will say nothing for the moment about how the law in question in Arizona is actually already on the books at the Federal level. ) Further, consider why he would be doing so from the White House lawn. Clearly, he considers it to his country’s advantage for illegals to be here in the United States. Just as clearly, it is in the interests of Democrats to get as many illegals in the country as possible, and voting.

President Irony demands your papers, via Michelle:
The White House appears to be laying the groundwork for President Barack Obama to shake the hand of each senior at Kalamazoo Central High School’s commencement ceremony next month.
Seniors are being asked to provide their birthdates, Social Security numbers and citizen status to the Secret Service so background checks could be performed. Such a check is required for anyone who gets within an arm’s length of the president, students were told at their senior breakfast Friday.
Michelle suggests, and I second, that the President should lead by example. Dare he?
Mrs. Clinton’s State Department still stuck on stupid, Fox News:
The State Department on Tuesday defended a top-ranking diplomat who expressed regret to China last week about Arizona’s immigration law during a discussion on human rights in Washington.
Spokesman P.J. Crowley, in an interview with Fox News, disputed the notion that Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner was apologizing to China, saying he was actually “standing up” for America by describing how debate functions in a “civil society.”
But he echoed other top Obama administration officials in describing the law as a gateway to “racial profiling” and doubled down on Posner’s comments to the Chinese.
Evidently the Obami do not understand the People Republic of China’s brutal human rights record, the concept of federalism or the federal government duty to secure the border. Kim Priestap, Wizbang, explains it for Mrs. Clinton:
The United States apologized to China for what it called human rights issues. You read that correctly. China! The same China whose leader Mao Ze-Dong murdered tens of millions of his own citizens. The same China that stamped out the Tienanmen Square protest by massacring the protesters in the streets. The same China that forces women to have abortions. The same China that jails Christians for practicing their faith.
Sure China is brutal. The libtarded Chrissy Matthews knows China is brutal, but Chrissy loves it, from Caleb Howe, Red State:
In China, it’s a more brutal society, a more brutal society, Kate, but they execute people for this. Major industrial leaders that commit crimes like this. Failure like this. This is a serious, serious problem. It is not over. It continues to destroy a part of our planet basically. Part of our habitat, our American habitat. And everybody just sits and watches television every night.
I doubt the PRC would let Chrissy is, but she ought to apply anyhow. It is the least she can do.
Professor Jacobson, sums it up aptly, from Legal Insurrection:
Leadership by the Wilfully Ignorant
We are being led by ideologues who are wilfully ignorant of the legal topics about which they do not hesitate to opine. These people lack a simple inquisitiveness of the mind on topics about which they already have made up their minds.
We are being led by ideologues who are wilfully ignorant of the legal topics about which they do not hesitate to opine. These people lack a simple inquisitiveness of the mind on topics about which they already have made up their minds.
Might quibble with the Professor. While leadership may be the Obami’s intent, it is certainly not their result.
What could go wrong, Jed Babbin, RCP:
Attorney General Eric Holder has tightened his grip on our intelligence agencies, requiring them to get Justice Department permission to release classified information to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, according to Senate sources.
Sen. Christopher Bond (R-Mo), Ranking Republican on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and three Senate staffers working for other members have recently asked the Director of National Intelligence for information on the interrogation of the failed Times Square bomber, Faisal Shazad. (Some of questions may have been directed at other intelligence matters as well.)
All four were told the information will not be provided until the Justice Department approved the transaction
I am less then thrilled by Eric Holder’s lame performance has head of Department of Justice. So why has Dim Won let a hack lawyer like Holder run both Justice and our national intelligence services?
Obama Care is broken I, Todd Ackerman, Houston Chronicle:
Texas doctors are opting out of Medicare at alarming rates, frustrated by reimbursement cuts they say make participation in government-funded care of seniors unaffordable.
Two years after a survey found nearly half of Texas doctors weren’t taking some new Medicare patients, new data shows 100 to 200 a year are now ending all involvement with the program. Before 2007, the number of doctors opting out averaged less than a handful a year.
“This new data shows the Medicare system is beginning to implode,” said Dr. Susan Bailey, president of the Texas Medical Association. “If Congress doesn’t fix Medicare soon, there’ll be more and more doctors dropping out and Congress’ promise to provide medical care to seniors will be broken.”
Obama Care is broken II, from Wall Street Journal:
President Obama guaranteed Americans that after health reform became law they could keep their insurance plans and their doctors. It’s clear that this promise cannot be kept. Insurers and physicians are already reshaping their businesses as a result of Mr. Obama’s plan.
[…]
The bottom line: Defensive business arrangements designed to blunt ObamaCare’s economic impacts will mean less patient choice.
You will not be able to keep your health plan, your physician and it your are real lucky, Obzma Care may let keep your life.
Fagan Files, Ed Koch, Puffington Post:
Solicitor General Elena Kagan’s sexual orientation is the subject of much discussion in blogs and mainstream newspapers. The White House response denied Ms. Kagan is a lesbian. Instead, shouldn’t the White House have denounced the speculation and conveyed that such inquiries are improper?
By denying she is lesbian instead of denouncing the inquiry, the White House is implicitly stating sexual orientation is a legitimate issue of discussion in the confirmation process.
Even if were a agree with Koch that inquiring into Kagan’s sexual preference would be some improper, the White House itself opened that closet door. Inquiring into the veracity of the White House denial is appropriate. After all, if the White House is lying about Kagen sexuality, what else are they lying about?
GAY(Got Aids Yet?), or AIDS(Anally Injected Death Sentence), from Peter Wilson, American Thinker:
An op-ed in the Boston Globe by two gay activists, Rebecca Haag and Douglas Brooks, reports CDC findings that “[m]en who have sex with men are 44 times more likely to contract HIV than other men.” The authors’ analysis offers a staggering refusal to accept any personal responsibility for reckless behavior:[H]ow did we end up back at the beginning with gay and bisexual men so vulnerable to infection?”Vulnerable”? You are vulnerable to pneumonia, not unsafe sex. We’re here because we’ve watered down prevention messages.
We have been pandering to homophiles sensibilities for decades. Where has it gotten us? I espouse a live and let die attitude. If the willful decision to infect themselves is a personal decision, then living with, or more aptly dying from, the results of that personal decision is a personal, and not public, responsibility.

Welcome one and all to the most intense nightly raid anywhere on the web… The BitsBlog Nightly Ramble
It’s a somewhat shorter version this evening because I am out on the road.
- MISS, USA: Why is it that beauty pageants so often end up exemplifying the axiom that the more beautiful woman is the more vacant she is between the ears? There seems another issue here, as well; it seems clear to me that there was a desired outcome here . and certainly from the promoter’s POV, , an attitude that was undesirable.
- I”M NOT SO SURE:I’m not so sure how it is that one group can be so much more dangerous than another. For example; how is it that “sexual predators” are more dangerous than “terrorists”? Or, the “birthers” are more dangerous than the “truthers”? Now, you can argue if you like that one case involves the force of law and one case does not. To which I respond “For the moment”.
- SIGN OF THE TIMES: The president has decided apparently that freedom of the press is not what it says. What president would decide not to take questions at the signing of a bill entitled “freedom of the press”? Obama would.
- DOUBLE STANDARD: These SEIU thugs storm the private home of a Bank of America employee. Weren’t these the same people that were complaining about the tea party movement a few days ago?
- YOUR OWN MEDICINE: Couldn’t happen to a a more appropriate group of folks.

It is the hostility stupid, Ed Morrissey discusses the increasing Jewish dissatisfaction with Dim Won, from Hot Air:
How badly has Barack Obama’s support eroded among Jewish voters over Israeli-US relations? Enough to send Rahm Emanuel to a meeting with rabbis in the White House to offer an apology. Saying that the Obama administration had “screwed up the messaging” about his support for Israel, Emanuel promised that the White House would work to undo the damage
[…]
The problem is that it’s not just the messaging. Obama set peace negotiations back to pre-Oslo days by demanding a halt to building in an area of Jerusalem that hadn’t ever been a hurdle to talks in the past. He insulted Israel’s Prime Minister in a visit to the White House, and has repeatedly demanded concessions from Israel as preconditions to talks with an enemy that still refuses to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. This White House has objectively been the most hostile American administration to Israel since its founding.
Given Dim Won’s historical level of animus towards Israel, you’d almost think he didn’t like Jews.
Insta Althouse, the case where the Instant version exceeds the regular, from Instapundit:
WITHOUT MURDER, it’s cruel and unusual punishment to sentence a juvenile to life in prison without parole, writes Justice Kennedy for a 6-3 Court. Dissenting, Justice Thomas criticizes the majority for imposing “an exacting constraint on democratic sentencing choices based on … such an untestable philosophical conclusion”: “that a 17-year-old who pulls the trigger on a firearm can demonstrate sufficient depravity and irredeemability to be denied reentry into society, but… a 17-year-old who rapes an 8- year-old and leaves her for dead does not.”
Clarence Thomas, whom Dirty Harry Reid thinks can’t write, finds a clear bright line in Supreme Court reasoning. I simply do not see the justices’ line in my copy of the actual constitution. Do you?
On her own blog Ann Althouse posts nice photographs and provides social commentary. For her sharp legal reasoning, you have read her when she is questing on Instapundit.
The coming revolution, from Mortimer B. Zuckerman, US News:
The American public feels it is drowning in red ink. It is dismayed and even outraged at the burgeoning national deficits, unbalanced state and local budgets, and accounting that often masks the extent of indebtedness. There is a mounting sense that taxpayers are being taken for an expensive ride by public sector unions. The extraordinary benefits the unions have secured for their members are going to be harder and harder to pay.
Gotta love the line-up, from Instaquest:
I’M HEADING OFF TO A SECURE, UNDISCLOSED LOCATION, and I’ll have a bunch of guestbloggers filling in here: Not only my usual crew of Ann Althouse, Megan McArdle, and Michael Totten, but to lighten the load on them, quite a few others: Ed Driscoll, sometime InstaPundit correspondent Stewart Baker (whose new book on counterterrorism, Skating On Stilts, will be coming out soon), Radley Balko, and Mark Tapscott. Should be lively enough that when I get back, you’ll wish I’d stayed gone longer!
I’ve also left a few scheduled posts, but don’t be fooled — if you’re looking for me, I’ll be trying to stay offline as much as possible, so email response will be something between slow and nonexistent. Sorry, but I need a break
Gotta love the attitude, “Snark and Boobs“.

Welcome, one and all to the most intense nightly read anywhere on the web: The BitsBlog Nightly Ramble
- YEP, IT’S OBAMA’S KATRINA, ALL RIGHT: Not that there was EVER any doubt at all. We now have a month between now and the time this mess got started. And the Obama White House has yet to acknowledge that it had a hand in the creation of the problem…. or, for that matter, why.
- WELL, THERE’S A REASON FOR THAT:
It should strike us as curious then that there has never been, as far as I can tell, an international movement focused on the tenets of individual liberty.
That’s Nick Rizzuto making an observation few will dare to make. He also observes that one major reason is that folks who advocate liberty tend to be rather staunch individualists. And that’s certainly true. there’s something deeper here…. an inherent incompatibility between liberty, and any large institution, particularly a governmental one. And therein, dear reader there hides a clue.
- ISRAEL TO CHOMSKY: STAY AWAY Were that more countries would take such a stand.
- ASTROTURF INDEED: Or maybe as the article suggests this is outright political fraud. Either way, the democrats are being understandably silent about all of this. If you understand anything about this, please understand this; this is how the Chicago machine always worked. This is the Chicago machine, writ large.
- QUESTIONS FOR KAGEN: Tapscott has some questions for Kagen…
“With virtually no paper trail of court decisions by which to evaluate her suitability for the nation’s highest court, the usual reservation about a nominee avoiding public commitments on particular issues before confirmation should not apply in Kagan’s case.”
While true that she has almost nothing for a paper trail, what we have discovered so far seems to suggest that there is nothing in her history that was of of the extreme leftist attitude exuded by this White House. Consider it this way; the idea that she would not be of the extreme left , given that which appointed her to the position doesn’t even pass the laugh test. Word on the street is that she won’t be filibustered. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not. The bottom line here, however, is that the woman brings nothing in terms of intellectual mettle to the table, or to the Supreme Court. And by the way, she may already be damaged goods in any event. Apparently her service as solicitor general means that she’ll be expected to recuse herself from many of the cases surrounding the Obama agenda. I wonder if the White House even considered that point. Given the level of incompetency I see on everything else with these people these days, I tend to think they have not.
- LIBERALISM ANTI-WASP: I have said for years that liberalism in the current sense here in America is the last act of a dying culture. Jules Crittenden seems to be operating on the same page.
- A MINDSET: There’s a lot of anger at the government, just now. But I don’t think that anger is limited to government. The rather, I think it is reserved for those who consider themselves to be our keepers, are defenders, and our betters. And this would seem to include the “environmental scientists” who have been so roundly disproven . Make no mistake about this, there is a connection between the two ….. our current government in Washington, and the environmental whack-job…. it has to do with a certain superiority complex. A mindset. Or perhaps a mindless set.

Libtards against choice I, Boston Globe:
No surprise, then, that ADL takes a hard line against school-choice voucher programs, which give parents the wherewithal to rescue their children from failing public schools and enroll them in private schools instead. Since those private schools are often church-affiliated, ADL contended in an amicus brief the last time the Supreme Court took up the issue, vouchers have the unconstitutional effect of directing “government funding to religious schools for religious purposes.
Libtards against choice II, Thomas Sowell, New York Post:
One fashionable notion among some of the intel ligentsia is that old peo ple have “a duty to die,” rather than become a burden to others.
This is more than just an idea discussed around a seminar table. Already Britain’s government-run medical system is restricting what medications or treatments it will authorize for the elderly. It seems almost certain that similar attempts to contain runaway costs will lead to similar policies when US medical care is taken over by the government.
Make no mistake: Letting old people die is a lot cheaper than spending the kind of money required to keep them alive and well. If a government-run medical system is going to save any serious amount of money, it is almost certain to do so by sacrificing the elderly.
Liberals only favor choice when it means killing unborn babies. Government provided health care is government rationed health care.
It is not a Hispanic problem. It is a border security problem, from Ruben Navarrette, RCP:
SAN DIEGO — Some states deal with Hispanic issues. Then there is Arizona, which has issues with Hispanics.
Consider what officials in the Grand Canyon State have been up to lately on various fronts in what seems a concerted effort to harass Hispanics, both immigrants and U.S. citizens.
See the video below and STFU.
Two chicks make Obama administration look dumb, video:
Hat tip: Jammie Wearing Fool.
Fagan Files, VDH, Pajamas Media:
When a Senator Obama a while back weighed in on the ill-fated Harriet Miers, he quite logically predicated his skepticism on a dearth of publications (though I found that embarrassing at the time since Senator/Law Professor Obama was essentially without a record of scholarly work), and an absence of judicial experience—both legitimate concerns. So, of course, are we now to expect Obama to talk up his recent Supreme Court nominee Ms. Kagan, and ignore her relative lack of scholarly experience without a judicial past (sort of like being secretary of education without having taught anything)? Does the president, who as a senator voted to deny a court seat to Alito and Roberts, think Kagan is better qualified than either, and, if so, on what grounds—more scholarship, more judicial experience, a more diverse upbringing, intangible criteria like once recruiting Barack Obama?
You remember the old days, when Woody Allen used to be funny?
CANNES, France (AP) — Woody Allen has restated his support for fellow filmmaker Roman Polanski, who is in house arrest in connection with a 33-year-old sex scandal.
Allen said Polanski “was embarrassed by the whole thing,” ”has suffered” and “has paid his dues.” He said Polanski is “an artist and is a nice person” who “did something wrong and he paid for it.”
Polanski pleaded guilty in 1978 to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. He was taken into custody in September and is currently under house arrest in Gstaad, Switzerland.
Yet another reason not to see any more of Allen’s movies.

Dim Won’s snide tone is getting tiresome, John Dickerson, Sltate:
President Obama was feeling loose at a Democratic campaign fundraiser Thursday as he talked about the Republican Party. “We got our mops and our brooms out, we’re cleaning stuff out, and they’re sitting there saying, ‘Hold the broom better.’ ‘That’s not how you mop.’ ” He then went from the utility closet to the garage. “After [Republicans] drove the car into the ditch, made it as difficult as possible for us to pull it back, now they want the keys back. No! You can’t drive! We don’t want to have to go back into the ditch! We just got the car out! We just got the car out!”
Let me see, in fifteen months, President Obama has crashed the economy, spiked unemployment, attempted to kill the health care industry, is driving health care cost up, has offended long time allies Britain and Israel, emboldened Iran’s nuclear ambitions, attempted coup is Costa Rica and want to impose Cap and Tax. Yet rather than apologizing for his long list failure, Obama deigns to lecture us of civility. Earth to Barry, you were not elected to lecture your collective bosses, to with the public. You elected to achieve results. Sadly you seem more interesting in play golf than solving the nations problems.
I hear that PIAP a coming, more Mrs. Clinton in Twelve rumblings, from Hugh S. Wizbang:
But the gratuitous comment attributed to Obama in Sargent’s article about the Clintons (and school uniforms) is some real raw meat. President Obama, while remaining generically popular in national polls, is getting crushed in the battleground states of the 2010 midterms. I’ve never dismissed the possibility of a Clinton challenge to Obama in 2012 for several reasons. First, if Hillary would have simply executed a nominally effective caucus state strategy in 2008 Obama would have lost. Second, there is the still in place Clinton campaign apparatus that could be mobilized immediately. And third there is the Ego of the Clintons and their drive for power. Granted, all politicians that strive for higher office must necessarily possess large egos, but the Clintons took that requisite to a new level in the 1990’s.
If Dim Won gets primaries in Twelve, at whom will he shake his finger? If Mrs. Clinton is serious about running, she had better start conjuring up some successes as Secretary of State. I mean it not like Iran stopped its nuclear program or that reset button actually worked with the Russians.
Did Algore buy Heinz? From Todd Venzia and Jennifer Bain, New York Post:
For the first time in 40 years, Heinz ketchup is changing its famous recipe — by lowering the salt content in an effort to appeal to more health-conscious consumers, the company said yesterday.
Company officials have taste tested the new blend and believe it will be as popular as their old recipe, which has a 60 percent share of the ketchup market.
But Heinz fans fear that the company may be messing with perfection and that the switch could wind up a flavor debacle equal to the infamous rollout of New Coke.
Fixing problems that simply do not exist. With a sixty percent market share, Heinz has a lot more room to go down than up.

The Health Care Reform Already Costs More Than We Thought It Would
There’s been a spate of bad news recently about the health care bill.
Henry Waxman canceled his War on Accounting, not because there was a sudden breakout of common sense on Capitol Hill, but because his committee’s investigation revealed that companies had begun exploring whether they should drop their health insurance plans entirely–a move that would cost over $100 billion thanks to the huge new subsidies the government would have to dole out.
Who we paleface? The bill was only going to bend the cost curve down if renown liars like Dim Won, Dirty Harry Reid, Mrs Pelosi and Henry Waxman had actually read their bill and were telling the truth about it.
Freddy to tackle Louise, Fred Smerlas to challenge Louise Slaughter, (NY-28), from WHEC:
Former Buffalo Bills Nose Tackle Fred Smerlas was nominated tonight by the Monroe County Republican party
to run against Congresswoman Louise Slaughter for the 28th district.
The 28th may be Eric’s district. Slaughter has withstood repeated GOP challenges, but after the Stimulus, Obama Care and Cap & Tax, her time should be expired.
As for Smerlas, he not yet a New York State resident. Then we like to elect carpet baggers anyhow, think Robert Kennedy and Mrs. Clinton. However Smerlas does weekly sports talk show and sounds politically well informed. The 28th is gerrymandered districk mostly in Buffalo and Rochester connected by long thin strip. Smerlas is legend in Buffalo and an radio personality in Rochester. He will not suffer from lack of name recognition.
Know thy enemy, Eric Holder flunks Homeland Security 101, video:
.
Hat tip: Michelle.
Eric Holder seems to gag on the phrase “radical Islam.” Yet the Obami have no trouble saying “teabagger.” Janet Napolitano had no problem pinning the blame for the Times Square Incident on conservative right wingers. The Obami are so willing to pounce on and identify their perceived political enemies. Yet them seem allergic to identifying groups which poses a threat to our nation’s national security. It is as if the Obami are only worried about their political opponents and not our nation’s enemies.
Da Clinical Professor’s ticket, “Palin-Christie 2012.” For the record, Chris Christie would be the fat one. However, I might prefer to see the order reversed.
I got LOSP in Greece.

L & O DOA, Deadline:
This one is a shocker. Veteran crime drama Law & Order will not get its shot at history after all. I hear that after long deliberations, NBC has decided to cancel the long-running procedural, which will end its run at 20 seasons, tied with Gunsmoke. This is very surprising as NBC brass had indicated lately that they would bring L&O for a record-breaking 21st season. But with strong development, especially on the drama side, and soft ratings for L&O, NBC apparently opted not to keep the aging series, which spawned several successful spinoffs. The latest, Law & Order: Los Angeles, will launch next season. L&O‘s renewal by NBC was also contingent on securing a sizable commitment from the series’ cable home TNT whose off-network deal for the show was up at the end of this season.
All good things must come to an end. and Law & Order quit being good long ago. L & O ‘s twenty year run without a continuous cast member is unmatched. Gunsmoke ran for twenty years and starred James Arness in every year. Wheeas with L & O, you fill a subway coach with the entire cast of lead characters.
From Glenn Reynolds, Instapundit:
OUR SEXIST HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM: Huge College Degree Gap for Class of 2010. “For last year’s graduating Class of 2009, women dominated at every level of higher education. Here’s the national breakdown: for every 100 men, 142 women graduated with a bachelor’s, 159 women completed a master’s and 107 women got a doctoral degree. ” Obviously, we need to extend Title IX beyond athletics . . . .
You think I’m kidding but I’m not sure I am. Since we’ve given up on merit and instead focus on group representation nowadays, what’s the argument against such an approach?
Answer, the guys will continue to earn more than the chicks. Let them get their degrees, and their college debt.
Hilliary 12? Dick Morris thinks Mrs. Clinton is attempting to position herself to challenge Dim Won in Twelve, from Frances Martel, Mediaite:
On 60 Minutes earlier this week, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commented that the American economy is making it more difficult for her to do her job because other nations are telling her that “we always look to you because you have this great economy, and now you’re in the ditch.” Bill O’Reilly saw “a little jab” at the President in those comments, blaming the White House for her job troubles, but guest Dick Morris took that premise a bit further, suggesting the remarks, coupled with her silence on health care reform, were a deliberate attempt to undermine the President building up to 2012.”I think there is a subtle distancing going on, and it began over health care,” Morris noted, pointing out that Clinton was not vocal about supporting health care reform.
Mrs. Clinton’s foreign policy woes are not due to the Obama economy, but rather due the facts that she is rank amateur with respect to foreign policy and she is moron to boot. So Mrs. Clinton how that reset button working for you with Russia? How did you attempted coup go in Costa Rica? How are relations with some former strongest allies like Great hte United Kingdom and Israel?
Interesting Byron York has developed yet another link between the Clinton administration and terrorism. It seems somebody inside the Clinton White House has feeding information to eco-terrorists. Go f0r it Mrs. Clinton, please.
From the Fagan Files I, Chicago Sun-Timnes:
Elena Kagan, President Obama’s nominee to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens, was on the losing side in both cases.
As solicitor general, of course, Kagan has an obligation to defend federal laws against constitutional challenges. But her pro-censorship positions went beyond the call of duty. Together with some of her academic writings, her arguments in these cases provide grounds to worry that she will be even less inclined than Stevens, who has a mixed First Amendment record, to support freedom of speech.
From the Fagan Files II:
May 13 (Bloomberg) — Elena Kagan said as a U.S. Supreme Court law clerk in 1987 that she was “not sympathetic” toward a man who contended that his constitutional rights were violated when he was convicted for carrying an unlicensed pistol.
Kagan, whom President Barack Obama nominated to the high court this week, made the comment to Justice Thurgood Marshall, urging him in a one-paragraph memo to vote against hearing the District of Columbia man’s appeal.
So Elena Kagen will offer sympathy provides you express state approved rules and surrender your constitutional right of self-protection. I dare not call Kagan’s view freedom. Would you?

Rush is right, the Obami proves it, from New York Post:
When President Obama was asked if he would play a round of golf with his talk-radio nemesis Rush Limbaugh, the response, relayed by a top Democrat, was: “Limbaugh can play with himself.”
This is according to Zev Chafets in his new book, “Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One,” due May 25 from Sentinel.
[…]
“He’s the president of the United States,” Limbaugh told Chafets. “If any president asked me to meet him, or play golf with him, I’d do it. But I promise you that will never happen. His base on the left would have a s–t-fit.”“How about letting me ask?” Chafets said.
“Go ahead,” Limbaugh said. “Nothing will come of it.”
Now not only is Rush right, Rush is having fun with the story, video:
Hat tip: Nice Deb.
The Obami had a fork in the road. They could have made Rush Limbaugh look small, or they could make themselves look small, petty and vain They choose the latter. Would have expected anything more?
Oh by the way, Deb did nice job of slamming Chrissy Mathews.
From the Fagan Files, Moe Lane, dug this tidbit:
While the White House seems to believe the American people deserve to hear from Kagan, it has not made her available to reporters. That prompted some consternation at today’s White House briefing.
Let me me see if I can get this. According the the Obami, Elena Kagen is such a brilliant jurist that she going to win over Justice Anthony Kennedy’s swing vote but she too stupid to talk to prsss without stepping on the White House’s talking points. Sure Barry
Obami to NYC: Up yours, Department of Homeland Security cuts anti terror funds for New York City. from NBC New York:
The feds are slashing terror funding for New York’s anti-terror programs and mass transit system, according to Sen. Charles Schumer.
The surprising move comes just 11 days after a botched attempt to explode a car bomb in Times Square — yet another reminder that New York City remains the prime target for terrorist strikes in the United States.
The announcement also comes on the eve of President Obama’s visit to the NYPD to thank the department for its amazing work in unraveling the botched Times Square car bomb plot.
Yo Chuckles, b/k/a Senator Charles Schumer, what gives Chuck? If Chuckles can’t protect New York City why keep him in the Senate? Who’s side is Chuckles on?
Another victim of Obama Care, the Pundit of Poca, Don Surber, is attributing the defeat of fourteen term congresscritter Alan to the latter’s support for Obama Care, here:
This shows the power of the press. The Ogden newspapers, which backed Mollohan over the years, turned on him editorially over Obamacare.
The voter backlash against Obama Care is going to make a lot of congresscritters look for honest work. Even if the republican don’t flip the seat, the democrat who replaces Mollohan will not be inclined to blindly follow Mrs. Pelosi jihadist agenda. Come November we may send the message that the adults are back in charge.
Mainstream Islam defined, David Swindle, News Real Blog, transcribes a conversation between David Horowitz and member of the Muslim Student Association, UCSD:
Horowitz: If you don’t condemn Hamas, obviously you support it. Case closed. I have had this experience at UC Santa Barbara, where there were 50 members of the Muslim Students Association sitting right in the rows there. And throughout my hour talk I kept asking them, will you condemn Hizbollah and Hamas. And none of them would. And then when the question period came, the president of the Muslim Students Association was the first person to ask a question. And I said, ‘Before you start, will you condemn Hizbollah?’ And he said, ‘Well, that question is too complicated for a yes or no answer.’ So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll put it to you this way. I am a Jew. The head of Hizbollah has said that he hopes that we will gather in Israel so he doesn’t have to hunt us down globally. For or Against it?
MSA member: For it.
Horowitz: Thank you for coming and showing everybody what’s here.
Video:
The MSA has gone on the record in support of genocide. Will any Muslim or member of the MSM condemn here? Not likely.
An American Taliban? Jay Tea, Wizbang:
For a few years now, we’ve had the left refer to the religious right as the “American Taliban.” But now that we’ve had a real incident that actually parallels the actions of the Taliban when they ruled Afghanistan, it was in all likelihood that members of the left carried out the atrocity.
A war memorial in the shape of the Cross has been in the Mojave Desert for decades. Recently, some anti-religious activists didn’t like that a Christian symbol was being used thus, so they filed suit to get it removed. It made it all the way to the Supreme Court, where the Justices ruled recently that it can stay.
That didn’t suit some folks, so they decided to overrule the court and steal the Cross.
Would expect the Obama administration to react the desecration of a Christian symbol and memorial to our fallen soldiers sometime after Obama responds flooding in middle Tennessee, or about when Hell freezes over.
