Far be it from me, generally to agree with the establishment GOP. Here, however, they get it right. Here, then is further proof that the Democrat party is run by idiots, fearful of speaking the truth.

As if further proof is needed.

Laws for for the little people.   Case in point, Islamist militants murder four Americans in Benghazi.  In response, the regime sends and American film maker to jail.

Stupid college kid kills one bird, from FOX 5 (Las Vegas, NV)

A California law student was given probation and community service as his sentence for the decapitation of an exotic bird at a Las Vegas Strip resort.

In October 2013, Justin Teixeira was ordered by a judge to spend 180 days at High Desert Prison boot camp. As part of the order, the judge was expected to sentence the University of California, Berkeley law student to probation if he completes the term.

On the other paw, regime backed “green energy”  companies kill hundreds of birds, from CBS DC:

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is refusing to turn over documents related to enforcement of environmental laws at wind farms where dozens of eagles and other protected birds have been killed, House Republicans charged Wednesday.

Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., said the Fish and Wildlife Service has engaged in a “deliberate slow rolling of documents and answers” for nearly a year. Hastings is chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, which has been seeking to compel the wildlife agency turn over internal documents related to its enforcement of laws protecting eagles and other birds.

An Associated Press investigation last year revealed that the administration was not prosecuting wind energy companies for killing eagles and other protected birds.

Only one wind energy company has been prosecuted for killing eagles and other birds in violation of federal law. Duke Energy pleaded guilty in November to killing eagles and other birds at two Wyoming wind farms and will pay $1 million.

It is not what you do.  Rather, it to whom you bundle your campaign contributions.

So on what basis do liberals argue that Associate Justice Clarence Thomas’ personal conduct was no vile that he not qualified to sit on the Supreme Court, but B.J. Clinton’s personal conduct should both be defended and lauded?

Monica Lewinsky has been rescued from her safe house and thrust back in the news, from Rebecca Traister, New Republic:

[Gender] feminist exchanges got clogged up and confused around Bill Clinton. In the years after Anita Hill’s testimony against Clarence Thomas helped to hammer the meaning of the term “sexual harassment” into an American consciousness, feminists—who loved Bill Clinton, the president who’d signed the Family and Medical Leave Act, was friendly to reproductive rights, put Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court, and had a dazzlingly accomplished wife and partner—stayed comparatively silent when he was accused of sexual harassment by Paula Jones and was discovered having had a relationship with the White House intern.

It is all about killing unborn babies. Support the right of mothers to kill their yet to be born children and liberal cows of feminism will worship at your feet, or even a couple feet higher.

snark2.jpgSnark of the Day by George Will:

The New Yorker magazine, which is impeccably upset about climate change, recently spoke about the report from the IPCC as “the last word on climate change.” Now, try that phrase, “the last word on microbiology, quantum mechanics, physics, chemistry.” Since when does science come to the end?

I am not sold on George Will’s politics, but the man has a golden way with words. It is early, but this this the early favorite for the coveted Snark of the Year.

Radical whack jobs have combined forces to wage war on Africans.   First up,  from Caleb S. Rossiter, Wall Street Journal:

Every year environmental groups celebrate a night when institutions in developed countries (including my own university) turn off their lights as a protest against fossil fuels. They say their goal is to get America and Europe to look from space like Africa: dark, because of minimal energy use.

But that is the opposite of what’s desired by Africans I know. They want Africa at night to look like the developed world, with lights in every little village and with healthy people, living longer lives, sitting by those lights. Real years added to real lives should trump the minimal impact that African carbon emissions could have on a theoretical catastrophe.

Second, from Fox News:

A 16-year-old Nigerian girl who was present during the kidnapping of hundreds of girls from a school last month recalls the students were at first happy to see gunmen.

The girls in the school dorm could hear the sound of gunshots from a nearby town. So when armed men in uniforms burst in and promised to rescue them, at first they were relieved.

“Don’t worry, we’re soldiers,” the 16-year-old girl recalls them saying. “Nothing is going to happen to you.”

The gunmen commanded the hundreds of students at the Chibok Government Girls Secondary School to gather outside. The men went into a storeroom and removed all the food. Then they set fire to the room.

“They … started shouting, `Allahu Akhbar,’ (God is great),” the 16-year-old student said. “And we knew.”

What they knew was chilling: The men were not government soldiers at all. They were members of the ruthless Islamic extremist group called Boko Haram. They kidnapped the entire group of girls and drove them away in pickup trucks into the dense forest.

[…]

In the video, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau claimed responsibility for the April 15 kidnappings for the first time. He also threatened to attack more schools and take additional girls.”I abducted your girls,” said the leader of Boko Haram, which means “Western education is sinful.”

He described the girls as “slaves” and said “By Allah, I will sell them in the marketplace.” The hour-long video starts with fighters lofting automatic rifles and shooting in the air as they chant “Allahu akbar!” or “God is great.”

It takes insane mad men to want to drive an entire continent back to the stone age.  Yet both groups of radicals, the environmental and Boko Haram, are willing undo centuries of human progress to impose their particular social vision. However, unlike Boke Haram, the environmental whack jobs are not actually willing to practice what they preach.

One big meme coming out of the Ben Rhodes memo fallout, is that there was an intel failure, and that’s where the problem was… that there wasn’t a concerted effort to cover up the foreign policy failures of this White House and a culpability in the deaths of ambassador Chris Stevens and 3 others.

image

An intel failure is what happened to a large degree, in the case of Iraq… a point admitted by every western intel agency in the western world. As you may recall, the Democrats to this day, weren’t buying that argument, opting instead to chant the mantra… to this day… that W simply wanted to start a war… without reason. Of course, we know better now, though the Democrats still won’t admit it.

Yet, now, a lot of Dems, including Jane Harmon on today’s ‘Fox News Sunday’ are busy trotting out the argument that the ‘its a protest about a video’ meme was the best guess of the Intel folks at the time… that what we had was not deliberately misleading on the part of the White House, that it was an Intel failure.

First of all, it was not… observe the testimony of the DID of AFRICOM at the time. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/05/01/benghazi-testimony-africom-general/8554559/

(Link tool still isn’t working right on this phone ap, sorry)

But more importantly, it seems to me a measure of the trapped desperation the Democrats must be feeling to employ an argument in this case, that they employed so much spittle arguing against such a short time ago.

Then, there is the spectre of the Rhodes memo itself, and why, when the Issa committee subpoenaed  ALL such documents from State, why it didn’t show up show up until after a court order, months later. That question in fact is why John Kerry was subpoenaed… and why Democrat slime ball Elijah Cummings is playing the game I noted yesterday, with respect to that subpoena.

The feeling is overwhelming. We are getting close to something. Something that the Democrats… both the Obamabots and the Clintonistas, are desperate to keep from public view. Its a matter of time now, before it pops up.

The whole meme of the left the last 60 years has been dodging the consequences of their choices and those of their supporters.

No, I mean it. Consider… You’re an illegal alien/ No problem, we will take care of that. No jail time, no deportation. You don’t wanna work? You wanna have kids you can’t afford?  We can help. Well get someone else to pay for your poor choices.

Its more of the same, here. It seems to me clear that what we have is a concerted effort on the part of this administration to dodge the political consequences of a foreign policy that was and demonstrably remains, an abject failure. A fatal failure for at least four folks, to say nothing of the members of the military who have died implementing that failure of a foreign policy. The question is, will we get justice here, or will the Democrats succeed in their stonewalling to the point of dodging the consequences?

Far as I’m concerned, that slimeball Cummings taking this attitude is the best evidence of all that hauling fellow slimeball John Kerry up before a committee is the right thing to do.

(Me at OTB just now)

Granted, in the first sentence, the guy is less than, well, sterling. I make no defense for him. That said, though, there are a number of points about this case that deserve comment.

1: If I hear one more idiot declare that Sterling’s first amendment rights have been violated, I swear I will feed them to Bill and Hillary’s paper shredder. There are points of law in this case, but the constitution isn’t one of them. I view that business as one more indication of how bad government education is.

2:If Sterling is so much a racist, what’s with the half-black girlfriend? Does not compute, and there seems no explanation for it. (And mind, Ill say nothing of the age difference, though I suppose his ex-wife will.)

3: If Sterling is so much a racist why was he being set up for his second Lifetime achievement award from the NAACP in LA? There *IS* an explanation for that one…  The NAACP was letting the money Sterling was tossing at them cover an apparent multitude of sins. In other words, the race baiters at the NAACP sold out for their real goal. Money.

4: Why now? If, as we are being told his behavior is a long standing issue, what caused it to come to the fore, just now?  This one is a bit more complex. Anyone investigating this happening should ask as a ground level question, ‘who or what would this going to CNNs wall to wall coverage help?”

The answer came, rather unexpectedly, in the form of a presidential news conference. When was the last time any of you saw or heard of a private citizen’s private conversation, being a topic of a presidential news conference? It was at that moment that the reasons for the timing of this thing started falling together for me.

Picture what is happening, here.  We have a president with a 41% approval rating at last check, who has been for some time now trying to sell the idea that the only reason 59% of the country disapproves of him is because he’s black.  His policies, one by one are being shown as abject failures. Benghazi, Obamacare, jobs, the huge growth of government on his watch, The guy is a walking disaster. Pointing all of this out tends to get the usual suspects charging racism as well, but increasingly the charge is falling on deaf ears as the american people figure out increasingly for themselves what the proximate cause of all these failures are.

Add to this the recent admissions case from Michigan the USSC just ruled on, the fraud conviction of Jeri Wright, daughter of Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s erstwhile pastor, whose chickens have now come home to roost, and so many more points damaging to the cause of the race huxters, and clearly a diversion is called for. Something to get the people riled up to where they pay no attention to the reality of these failures. Hopefully before the mid-term elections in which the left will supposedly be paying for their sins. There’s a large number of folks who would love to change that situation.
Gotta find a way to push the message its all because of racism.

Well, its been observed many times that there is no easier way to get the leftist press to ‘chase the squirrel’ than to get someone to holler ‘racist’. So, the long term situation gets raised to crisis level by the rather convenient means of spreading an unattributed recording around via an already willing press, who immediately goes viral with it.

5:sterling is undeniably a sports figure, which is a gold mine for ‘the cause’, since pounding this race baiting message home doesn’t require a stable news cycle to maintain the drumbeat for an extended period. Have you listened to any of the sports channels of late? Have you noticed they all tend to sound like Bob Kostas? They’ll be carrying water on this one for weeks, now regardless what the news channels do.

6: What now? Well, someone or several someones buy the team… people like the folks the girlfriend was paling around with, to the objection of Sterling on that recording. Its just a guess, mind you, but I will bet she remains attached to the team by way of her old friends, the new owners… who could not have bought the team at all, and certainly not at the firesale price they’ll buy it with,  absent the scandal.

The  media regime complex is so intent on waging a war on men that it has invent a pseudo-rape culture in secondary education perpetrated by men.   Yet it ignores a real rape culture in primary educated where the perpetrators are women.    Some illustration of the problem and a provocative theory, from R.S, McCain:

Question: How many teachers like Jennifer Fichter are out there, even now, drooling over teenage boys? What’s wrong with these women who “melt into a puddle” looking at an eighth-grader?

Excuse me for suspecting that cases like this reflect (a) perversely misdirected maternal instinct, (b) the impact of a hyper-sexualized culture, and/or (c) the egalitarian influence of feminism.

We are seeing way so many of these stories now there is cause to believe that this phenomenon — female predators who crave sex with teen boys — is increasingly prevalent. This raises the question of why more and more women are becoming perverts, and maybe the feminists screaming about “rape culture” at university campuses should devote more attention to this growing problem instead.

I say the problem with gender feminism is that it ignores human biology.

kerrysaluteOur esteemed Secretary of State, “Lurch” b/k/a John Kerry has stepping in or on it yet again, from Adriana Cohen, Boston Herald:

Secretary of State John F. Kerry has stepped in it again — with a gaffe that this time not only makes him look foolish but makes a mess of U.S. foreign policy and destroys any chance he had of realizing his legacy pipe dream of brokering Middle East peace.

In a private meeting with senior international officials Friday, Kerry said that if the Israelis and Palestinians can’t achieve a two-state solution, Israel risks becoming “an apartheid state with second-class citizens.”

A political gaffe has been defined as when a politician accidentally tells the truth. By such a definition, Lurch’s statement was not a gaffe. For the statement was not some version of the truth inaptly phrased. Rather was Kerry said was totally wrong:

Caroline Glick of The Jerusalem Post said, “Kerry’s remark was openly anti-Semitic. Apartheid is a crime of intent. There is no Israeli politician that will ever be in a leadership position that harbors any such bigoted intention towards the Palestinians. On the other hand, there is no Palestinian leader or faction that does not demand the ethnic cleansing of Jews from every inch of any territory that will come under Palestinian control.”

Reax, over at Just One Minute, Tom Maquire wonder just how much Lurch’s thinking such as it is, reflects that of this boss:

Comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa has a long history amongst both progressives and failed Presidents, so one wonders whether Obama (as a representative of each of the preceding categories) has engaged in such chit-chat with his Secretary of State.

Both men will deny it, of course.

Deny it or just lie about it?
